    How could I increase the max frequency? Only adding more rangers or there is any components limitation?

      Hi Johann! Yes, there are many components limitations. To increase the max frequency we would have to redesign the whole thing. :-)

      To increase the frequency, use fast comparators instead of lm3914, and buffers on transistors instead of opamps at the input, since they are the slowest things here.

    ok i have a crazy idea but please @simpletronic look if it's possible.
    1 i can make the sistem a 2 or 3 channel one using RGB led and multipol input stages with selectible triggers?
    2 i can extend even more the matrix puting for example 2 lm3914 and 3 cd4017 in cascade mode?

    • @simpletronic1299
      @simpletronic1299  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! For #2, CD4017's cannot be cascaded. You can use CD4028+binary counter, or 74HC238+binary counter. For #1, circuit will get a bit too complex for its capabilities.

      CD4017 of course can be cascaded, you just don't use first output, because it's high after reset.

    can I use a 10×10 matrix led?

    • @igrewold
      @igrewold 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      maybe you can use it like a 10x7 and neglect(not use) the rest 3 lines.

    • @simpletronic1299
      @simpletronic1299  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Fabio! Yes, LM3914 has 10 outputs and you can use all of them. The only drawback is that when the wave "overflows" the display, leds 1 and 10 will remain "ON" drawing a horizontal straight line. Not too serious, but a wrong wave image nevertheless! .
