Can we please have a video dedicated to roy jones sr training and coaching techniques please?????!
Giving out boxing knowledge in dribs and drabs must be an old school teaching concept. I trained under Joe Byrd for 3 years after he turned Chris Pro. I would be doing rounds with Pat Byrd and all Joe would say was " own the centre of the ring". One comment from doing 8 rounds. One or 2 pointers was the norm. Maybe it was to see if I would listen maybe or he did not want to his waste time. Old school trait for sure
This is really not a good habit, though. Boxing became way too secretive and either stoic, or about macho sayings as opposed to execution of technique.
@OBCWarDogs Maybe not the best but then you have clubs that run their gyms like a mc dojo or mc boxing from coaches that spew shit like it is going out of style. I take my kid to kronk once a week for sparring. Nothing better then having a group of old timers all calling out directions on the fly. It's my responsibility to listen and remember those words of wisdom so I can get my kid to practice during the week. Real knowledge coming of an ex world champ holds way more value then knowledge from someone who took a level 1 coaching course.
@@denisesayers8520For sure, I'm no fan of the "on-the-fly" Coaches. At the end of the day it's about the Coach's ability toneffectiveky communicate, and actually improve the fighter instead of just making them feel good.
I'm in Las Vegas my son is 13 120 pounds.... We are looking for sparring?
