Beautiful explanation and good questions. As Muslim sufi women I understand what she is explaining. The deeper level she is saying is, in Islam even those of us born into the religion work to get there. there is levels and it’s very unique and individualistic levels of faith. We call it the first level is being Muslim believing the oneness of God and his messenger mohamed peace be upon him. Second is iman and the last is called ihsan is the highest level . Having iman is like being content with whatever All mighty gives you. Ihsan even deeper sense of content . By doing the the daily practices with fully present mind can get you deeper levels.
Thanks for the comment! Yes, Patricia was really interesting to talk with. Seeking that depth of connection and presence with the Divine should be the goal of our lives, whatever our specific faith framework. Learning about Sufism has been fascinating and I'm looking forward to continuing the journey, it's great to find the "niche" sectors of religions which are at their core, the real heart of the religion! And much closer to the truth than what we're told in the mainstream. Keep seeking, and I appreciate the feedback. :)
@absolutely , it was great listening to Patricia’s take on Islam and Sufism. I found converts have deeper faith than some born Muslims . I agree we should look for connection to the creator. I too want to learn about Sufism more. Good luck with your journey.
Sufism is the effort to attain the "State of Ehsaan" as eleborated by Prophet ﷺ in his Hadith, commonly famous as Hadith Gabriel, Ref Sahih Muslim, Book of Faith, Hadith #1.
Hi if anyone want to go more deeper and get a more philosophical insights .I'll recommend reading "The Doctrine of the Sufis" by "Abu Bakr al-Kalabadhi" Translated by "Arberry"
