omg I love this show, after watching it for the first time in my AP Poli Sci class, I rented season 1-7 on DVD and watched it all summer. LOVE IT!!!!!!!! To bad it only went through 7 seasons
Is this the one where Mendoza gets nominated instead? Bartlet's nominated three Supreme Court justices during his 2 terms, which is pretty impressive :P
I can't think of a bad character in the show. The writing is so phenomenally good and it is played so convincingly, and the camera work is so dynamic, this is what TV was invented for. This is very much worth wathing
Big WW fan here. I wouldn't say seasons 5-7 were LOUSY. The WW did lose its "sizzle" by then, but was still watchable. Brad Whitford (Josh), definitely carried the last 2 seasons as he ran the Santos campaign. Not a big Rob Lowe fan as Sam. Lowe spoke too fast and too low for me. Hard to understand at times. Lowe was upset since season 1. He was supposed to be the main character with Sheen as president appearing in only a few episodes. Instead they went with Sheen as the main character.
First let me be clear that The West Wing is truly one of my favorite shows of all time, (I've seen the first 4 seasons at least) ten times, but there are a few scenes that did not age well at all, they come off to me at least, a little cringe... and the number one offender has got to the the "you da man" scene from season one's Short List episode. It's a visceral cringe. I can't explain it's just the way it goes sometimes. Is there a scene to you that just feels cringe and didn't age well?
There's a really basic mistake in this episode. Toby calls CJ to let her know that Lillienfield is on TV accusing WH staffers of drug abuse. CJ is already watching. A couple mins later, CJ tells Toby that she's heard about Lillienfield's comments but has not seen them.
The bit with Mrs Landingham is the best. 🤣💗
Josh: "You know what we're finally gonna have?"
Donna: "A WASPY old man on the Supreme Court?"
"Peyton Cabot Harrison the 3rd."
"That's right."
"Jewish fellow?"
I love Donna.

Had these writers learned something from the 20 years of Gunsmoke, and cut the frenetic pace, they'd still be on.
@@raoulbataller5454 There's only 1 writer... that's why it was brilliant.
I love this show so much!
I'd forgotten how much I love and miss this show... JAG and this show... wow...
If I had to choose just one clip to show somebody why they should watch The West Wing, this would be the one.
+Daniel Fawcett Not Oliver Platt/Babbish and his Big Hammer?
I actually sent this clip to a friend of mine who's thinking about watching it. Let's just say they've been convinced

No way. I think Josh's cockiness is what made him so great!
@leemingoo0311 Mendoza becomes the replacement nominee. This episode was about Harrison being their initial nominee.
"Uh...Okay..."
LOVE this show!!!
Medoza was my favorite of all of Bartlet's Supreme Court nominees.
This isn't a trailer, this is a clip from the TV show...

omg, this clip makes me so happy!
ps - i love it when they call her "Claudia Jean". -SQUEE~-

Josh is great but he definitely has a little girl in him. The way he celebrates when he first gets off the phone makes me a little nervous! :o)
@leemingoo0311 Obama has nominated two Supreme Court justices in his first 19 months....Also pretty impressive.
This program rocks!
Where's Josh when you need him!!
I love love love this show!!! Im so sad it had to end!!! GRRRRR! Why couldn't Bartlet have more than 2 terms! JK lol! Thanks for posting this! :)
@leemingoo0311 This is true, though 2 of those 3 were that special cat-swapping case
does anyone know if the entire sequence was shot in one take?? looks like it
There is a few shots when they go from one room to another where it could be a different shot.
Can there be any show better than this?

Yeah, she's lying to the press. 😀
Who da man.
Wow, that has not aged well.
