If you seal your customs with duraclear matte varnish you can water it down with about 2/3 water so it doesn't come out shiny. Just using the plain varnish makes it turn out shiny.
My suggestion is you do a series of where you do the mane six the way you first thought they would look... Or maybe how you think the next generation would be!
