YES!! Dean Martin is a singer, an actor, a comedian, a TV star, a movie star, a radio star, & a huge nightclub star. Very few in the entertainment community have as lengthy a resume as Dean, & he excelled at all!!! Very few were as beloved worldwide as Dean, too. His signature song is the very beautiful Everybody Loves Somebody, a song that knocked The Beatles out of the #1 spot on the record charts in the summer of '64. Ain't That A Kick In The Head is another great one. Hundreds more, too, & every one of them will make you smile.
If you want to learn more about the performer dubbed the King of Cool by none other than Elvis Presley, watch the 2021 bio-doc from TCM, appropriately called Dean Martin: King Of Cool. It's a great lesson on a very talented man who will make you smile whenever you see him and/or hear him.

Dean Martin (born Dino Paul Crocetti; June 7, 1917 - December 25, 1995) was an American singer, actor and comedian. One of the most popular entertainers of the mid-20th century, he was nicknamed "The King of Cool". Martin gained his career breakthrough together with comedian Jerry Lewis, billed as Martin and Lewis, in 1946. They performed in nightclubs and later had numerous appearances on radio and television and in films.
Following an acrimonious ending of the partnership in 1956, Martin pursued a solo career as a performer and actor. He established himself as a singer, recording numerous contemporary songs as well as standards from the Great American Songbook. Martin became one of the most popular acts in Las Vegas and was known for his friendship with fellow artists Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr., After actor Humphrey Bogie' Bogart death Frank Sintra took over leadership of the Rat Pack which Dean Martin was a member. The Rat Pack made several movies. One of my favorites is the original Ocean's 11 in which Dean Martin sung Ain't that a Kick in the Head'.
Starting in 1965, Martin was the host of the television variety program The Dean Martin Show, which centered on Martin's singing and comedic talents and was characterized by his relaxed, easy-going demeanor. From 1974 to 1984, Martin was roastmaster on The Dean Martin Celebrity Roast, a popular show that drew celebrities, comedians and politicians. Throughout his career, Martin performed on concert stages, in nightclubs and audio recordings and appeared in 85 film and television productions and sold 12 million records in the United States alone, over 50 million worldwide.
Martin's best-known songs include "Ain't That a Kick in the Head?", "Memories Are Made of This", "That's Amore", "Everybody Loves Somebody", "You're Nobody till Somebody Loves You", "Sway", and "Volare".

I grew up with the music of Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Perry Como. Food was always a big part of our lives and somehow all my aunts, uncles and cousins fit into my grandmother's small home every Sunday for dinner and to celebrate life. Dean Martin ( Dino Paul Crocetti) is my favorite of all the crooners. Dean has a carefree relaxed casual style of singing. He was part of the infamous Las Vegas "Rat Pack" ( Sinatra, Dean, Sammy Davis Jr [all were singers and acted too] Peter Lawford [actor and married to a Kennedy] and Joey Bishop [ comedian] ).
Dean grew up in Steubenville, Ohio in an Italian household and didn't learn to speak English until he was 5 and went to school; was bullied for his broken English. He only went through 10th grade. He had various jobs, working in a steel mill, was a boxer for awhile ( known as Kid Crochet) and worked as a card dealer and crupier at a gambling establishment. before he went to NYC. There he stated singing , using the name of Dino Martini. ( he took his style from Bing Crosby, Perry Como and The Mills Brothers). Eventually he was paired with an up and coming comedian, Jerry Lewis, changed his name to Dean Martin ( sounding less Italian) Together they made a slew of movies with Dean as the suave singer and Jerry as the nerdy funny guy. Eventually they split and Dean went on to make many other movies ( some westerns as well as others). This song, "That's Amore" is in a movie with Jerry Lewis ( video.)
Dean did a couple of western movies with John Wayne: Rio Bravo ( Dean sings in this one.." My Rifle, My Pony and Me" .......there is a video). Also, The Sons of Katie Elder. Both were big movies in their time. Dean was also in several "Rat Pack" movies, one being Robin and the 7 Hoods.
Dean had 2 tv shows. The Dean Martin Show ( A variety show.....he never rehearsed, just showed up for the tapings) and The Dean Martin Comedy Roast ( A once monthly Comedy Roast of a different chosen celebrity each time). Dean didn't want to do another tv show when this offer was put to him. So, he wound up only doing it once a month and he never rehearsed. ( because he was a family man ( 8 children, 4 from each marriage)and he really wanted to retire and just play golf). He didn't rehearse on his long running weekly show either. All of the guest stars did but Dean would just come in cold and wing it. That's part of what made his show so funny. ( He learned his comedic timing by working with Jerry Lewis in his early years). Check out this video of Dean in concert in London singing his signature song, "Everybody Loves Somebody". This song hit the charts as the #1 song in the U.S. beating out The Beatles.
Dean was married twice. His second wife, Jeanie, was always there for him until the end, even after she divorced him. Dean had 8 children altogether. When his son Dean Jr. died in a plane crash while in the Air Force , A part of Dean died too. He never recovered from the loss of his son and it was the beginning of the end for Dean. He just gave up on his career. When he was diagnosed with cancer he refused to go for treatments. A sad ending for such a talented and much loved celebrity.
Dean was always seen with a cigarette in hand and a drink. Playing someone who was slightly inhibriated was part of his act. It was apple juice in his glass. Elvis gave Dean the nickname of " The King of Cool"
More Dean for you to check out: "Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime" ( video from London). "Ain't That a Kick in the Head" ( video). "Volare" ( album......Dean had many albums sung in Italian). "Sway". " For The Good Times" ( video from his tv show).

Dean was the host of the show Dean Martin Roasts ___________ (fill in the blank) and then everybody roasted the guest! There were all kinds of people that got roasted from Phyllis Diller to Mr. T, Rich Little or Don Rickles.
This is one your kids will love! I remember loving it as a little girl and I'm 67 now, but when I was 5, 6 and 7 I loved it! Then my baby brother was born and I sang it to him! He'd giggle!

Dean Martin had it goin’ on! He was a Crooner.Even as a little kid I knew he was cool. He was good looking, a great actor, comedian and he could sing, (I think he could dance too). Great reaction. This song seems to get everyone going and we all became Italian or something 😂🤷‍♀️❤️✌🏻🎶

I just love Dean Martin. We never would miss his weekly variety door (we had to know who was going to knock on that door this week!), Dean was funny, charming, and so talented! The Rat Pack had Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, the amazing Sammy Davis Jr, actor Peter Lawford, comedian Joey Bishop, and the lovely and talented Angi Dickinson and they made some fun movies together, including the original Ocean's 11

Dean Martin….he was second in command in the Rat Pack with Frank as Chairman of the Board! He had his own show and refused to do much rehearsal. He was funny and charming and he could ad lib very well on camera. His show was very popular. You can watch some on TH-cam! He and Frank did a Christmas Special with both of their families. Both Italian families, and the two best “crooners” in America! It got huge ratings. It’s on TH-cam. We watch it every now and then around Christmas.

Enjoying great success in music, film, television, and on the stage, Dean Martin was less an entertainer than an icon, the eternal essence of cool. A member of the legendary Rat Pack, he lived and died the high life of booze, broads, and bright lights, always projecting a sense of utter detachment and serenity; along with Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr., and the other chosen few who breathed the same rarefied air, Martin -- highball and cigarette always firmly in hand -- embodied the glorious excess of a world long gone, a world without rules or consequences

Dean is by far my favorite male vocalist... smooth, debonair, but lighthearted and fun. Respect to all of the Rat Packers... but Dean is the crowned prince of the 'Pack' for me... oh, and he often entertained with a glass in his hand... when he was on stage it was alcohol free... Oh, one more fun fact... Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime knocked the Beatles out of #1.

I grew up listening to my mom sing this. "When the stars make you drool just-a like pasta-fazool. . ." 😂 Italian food is made with an extra ingredient. A generous sprinkling of love! We take our food very seriously. lol The best thing about Italian cuisine is how different it is region to region. From Rome to Sicily, each gastronomic adventure is steeped in tradition and provincial pride. So, if you're ever invited to a traditional Italian family dinner, know that the more you're fed, the more you're loved! ❤

You should react to a rat pack live routine. They're great!
To answer your question, Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin were a comedy duo and did movies too. Their relationship ended on a bad note and they never reconciled.

Dean was a singer when he and Jerry Lewis formed a successful comedy team doing club acts and many movies together...before they had a bad break up. Bith had successful careers solo. Dean was the singer, who got into straight acting, and had a popular TV variety show in the 60's, early 70's as well...not to mention the celebrity roast shows.
