I never understood why this show never got the recognition that SNL got . It is some of the best satire . Leona's skits are some of the best examples satirical material of its time .
It's too character dependant. You can only say so many catchphrases before people stop laughing. That said, the characters are amazing and I quote them all the time to this day still.
Timing,too. SNL came first and onxe upon a time, it was quite controversial and funny.,like its been said and sung "you gotta know when to hold em and when to fold em." IMO ,SNL has lingered too long. I guess ot gets them in the guiness nook of world records but...
They both had the same time slot where I lived so we had to make a choice what to watch. If this happened in my town it was happening elsewhere too which would affect the ratings I believe.

May just be me personally but my opinion I love this more than SNL they where truly unfiltered and put heart into their characters, They where able to make the most offensive subjects relatable and funny, They where a great distraction. I mean SNL is great but doesn't hit like MAD did. Stephanie Weir really put her all into her characters, Gotta say this character and her Dot are just hilarious 😂

Ahh I only discovered MAD TV during the plandemic, (cough cough) pandemic. @@WelshmanSudios I would love for that to happen, but with the way the world is now, it has killed old comedy shows that were great and has this robotic watered down PC comedy. People are just too sensitive these days or what they call "woke" which is just them making an excuse to hate on good stuff because they are miserable with their lives and who they are. That's why a lot of shows like that were ended minus the drama behind the scenes. Because madtv had A LOT. Lots of lawsuits too.

The drama that went on behind the scenes is crazy, but glad they made the show. Sad things turned out the way they did. This and the early days of SNL were the best of their kind.

If carol Burnett show was around I feel Stephanie Weir would’ve been part of that squad. Between Aries Spears and Stephanie Weir, they’re the most underrated funny people. Personally I’ve was always thought Stephanie was hands down far funnier than Kate McKinnon. All Kate has only being funny in SNL, Bieber, and abducted lady. Not one good movie where she’s funny outside of SNL. Stephanie Weir was always funny with multifaceted talent and characters.

May just be me personally but my opinion I love this more than SNL they where truly unfiltered and put heart into their characters, They where able to make the most offensive subjects relatable and funny, They where a great distraction. I mean SNL is great but doesn't hit like MAD did.
Stephanie Weir really put her all into her characters, Gotta say this character and her Dot are just hilarious 😂

Ahh I only discovered MAD TV during the plandemic, (cough cough) pandemic. Anything you want me to do any requests I’ll do them, in-fact I’m going to do another compilation of some of the best scenes of MADTV. Thank you for combing to visit the channel and commenting. I also remix songs and their on here, I am going through a rough time, then yesterday I found another channel reacting to my scene complication of The Time Machine, and to see the Joy in their faces was a real treat, another channel copied the video, but hay, as long as someone out there is enjoying the videos I don’t mind I just wish WMS asked. @@WelshmanSudios I would love for that to happen, but with the way the world is now, it has killed old comedy shows that were great and has this robotic watered down PC comedy. People are just too sensitive these days or what they call "woke" which is just them making an excuse to hate on good stuff because they are miserable with their lives and who they are. That's why a lot of shows like that were ended minus the drama behind the scenes. Because madtv had A LOT. Lots of lawsuits too.

The drama that went on behind the scenes is crazy, but glad they made the show. Sad things turned out the way they did. This and the early days of SNL were the best of their kind.

Personally I’ve was always thought Stephanie was hands down far funnier than Kate McKinnon. All Kate has only being funny in SNL, Bieber, and abducted lady. Not one good movie where she’s funny outside of SNL.
