      When ordering your Boc3 you don’t need to put in a truck vin number. Click the links in my description on “how to start a box trucking video” to apply.

      @@TimothyWilliamsJr through penske if you rent in ny for example and option to return in nj they give u unlimited miles no charge. As long as you option for the return in another state they wont charge.
      I live right at the jersey border so i rent from ny but i option to return to jersey(6 miles from my house) they give unlimited miles let ppl know it might save them alot of money. Its quite possible it works with more companies i.e enterprise.

      Your comment has great strength because so many feel this way. With automation on the brink of impacting the economy, the results are either going to make it easier or more difficult for the owner operator in any sector.

    • @TimothyWilliamsJr
      @TimothyWilliamsJr  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@keribarley For sure, I believe that the automated trucks won't affect owner operators for years. The reason I say that is because there are a lot of things that are required from the driver besides just driving the truck.

    I'm 44 yrs old and have a son that's 26. He has a daughter thats 5 mo old and my 24 yr old daughter has a son that's a year old. I'm ready to shoot my shot at starting a family business that will generate income for us all one day and I truly believe the box truck/delivery business is gonna be my best option with lower risk. I've been watching your video's and soaking in all the great info you're putting out there. Just sent a couple of your video's to my son also. Hopefully we can get it going this year. 🙏 Thanks again for making everything simple and feeding us the knowledge. Each one teach one. May God bless you.

    Thank you for this informative video I will definitely keep some of these gems in mind. Just so you know I did a price check through enterprise yesterday for 26' Box truck in Central California and here are the numbers, they wanted $3000 a month and 25 cents a mile and if I went through their insurance which didn't cover cargo it would be $1300 a month with a $2500 deductible up to $5000 deductible.

    • @TimothyWilliamsJr
      @TimothyWilliamsJr  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No problem, thank you sharing that information it seems a bit high but that may just align with the cost of living in California lol

      I did the same investigation and was give 2600 per month, and insurance was approx 1900 with a 2500 deductible. I went the route and bought used freightline with 260k miles on it and did some maintenance towards the truck.
      I would never personally lease a truck since your throwing money away, but that is me and it's all written off at the end of the day.

    Can you make a video about how you breakdown your cpm? To understand more in details the variables costs and the fixes costs ! One more thing is how to find a load or a dedicated loads, a contract before buying a box truck?

  • @luissantiago147
    @luissantiago147 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    One important detail/question…CDL Vs. Non CDL. There is a critical difference. Personally I find that a CDL Box truck is more advantageous, I’m not limited on my load choices. I also have HazMat, Tank and TWIC which lend to my earning potential. What is your take on this?

    • @TimothyWilliamsJr
      @TimothyWilliamsJr  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I agree with you that you have more advantages, but also if it’s a box truck that requires a CDL I would rather go and get a semi because you have a lot more options as far as running freight.

    • @kfelix2934
      @kfelix2934 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      CDL is not require for most single rear axle 26001 GVWR , but yes having hazmat is good and twic just even better. Tanker which I have is of no use for you if your driving a box only. Also for something like local routes or amazon you do not need a big box truck to carry 6 -14 pallets around imho.

    I have an updated example for you. Considering that box trucks are scarce in rental form and I’m repairing my credit to purchase a box truck soon. I’m running a Penske rental at 1250 per week and .25 per mile, if I took their insurance it would be 70 per day. Pretty high overhead, but I’m profitable still. Not where I want to be net, but i know once I can get a better lease or even purchase, I’ll have way better profit margins.

    • @TimothyWilliamsJr
      @TimothyWilliamsJr  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Commercialtrucktrader.com is where we bought ours, we traveled from Michigan to Pennsylvania it was a 2013 Ford 650 with 182,000 miles for only $16K. Personally I wouldn’t buy a truck over 300K because once it hits 300K miles is when they tend to have a overhaul.

    Can you also comment on some of the driver related activities? How does that work, when the driver goes out of town with a load- where do they stay, who pays for the expenses, what is the pay? Also where do you keep the truck when not running, is there a typical parking spot?

    • @TimothyWilliamsJr
      @TimothyWilliamsJr  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When drivers go out of town you can pay for their room and board. When starting off a company like “RTS Financial” will approve you for fuel cards that you can give your drivers & then you can work with hotels to get discounts since you have your own trucking company. The pay for your drivers is entirely up to you, you can pay by the hour or % based pay. Lastly you can pay for parking at fuel stations, Uhaul, etc.

    • @ajpharne
      @ajpharne 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much. How do you go about recruiting drivers? Any more details on what kind of pay structure is typical for drivers (base pay, benefits etc)?

    • @TimothyWilliamsJr
      @TimothyWilliamsJr  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Ajit Pharne No problem, you can recruit drivers from facebook, craigslist, or even paid ad’s on indeed! Honestly the pay structure is based on a number of things, how much time their away from their family, how much your expenses are just a number of factors play into that question. #1 thing I can tell you is to make sure they are well taken care of pay them at-least 20% of what you’re making after expenses & they will never leave you!

    YOU ARE WRONG ABOUT THE MAXXFORCE DT ENGINE, I've been running maxxforce engines for years and just like any other truck Co as long as you keep up with the manufactory's maintenance schedule you will NOT have an issue the this engine.

    • @mikethedon7984

      Your right about maintenance schedule !!!problem Is when trucks break down you are limited to who you take it to to fix it) Cummins and other engines it’s like 500 more places you can go service your truck ) around the United States 🇺🇸 👀 it up ✌️ bro 😎

      As long as your box truck is under 26,000 lbs GVWR then all you need is a standard drivers license, and a DOT medical card. If the truck is over the 26,000 lbs then you will need a CDL.
