This is exactly what i needed! i removed a lot of bloatware from an S9 i purchased online which turned out to be a U.S Phone and with your method i removed the ATT&T bloatware that came with it and a lot of other junk i didn't need to use, Thanks heaps and greetings from Australia!
Did u check ur device storage before and after uninstalling.?? How much was storage used ?? How much storage was free??? I think 🤔 this method only disables bloatware apps and cant unistall it completely..plz help
@@zafardhansay300 it removes it completed and my device storage went up to 38gb available out of 64gb total and that's with apps downloaded, it's definitely gone since i checked every where on my phone for traces of the apps.
Was having trouble getting adb to recognize my phone, changing the usb tethering to MIDI from transferring files did the trick, hope this helps anyone else who was also having this problem. Otherwise, great video, was simple and easy to follow.

A big thank you! I had MMI Group app installed on my new Samsung A7 tablet and it had basically every permission granted (all files, camera, microphone, like 52 permissions) . No option to remove it or even disable it in settings. Did lots of research and apparently only Samsung devices manufactured in the caribbean have it preinstalled (I'm in the UK). I wanted it gone because I didn't trust my tablet with that app having all those permissions. Its gone now!! Now I'm gonna go get rid of the preinstalled microsoft junk too.
I love Samsung hardware, but the software is an absolute disgrace. It's disgusting that users need to go through this circus to make their phone usable.
I just bought a Samsung A53 and it is truly disgusting how much sh*t is on that phone. And why do I need a Samsung account to display photos stored on my phone on a television? 😡

Another Firefox Mobile user, we are a rare breed, keep it up. Also I'm still on a Galaxy S7 lol, it's an amazing phone, maybe not the most private but I've got a pixel 5 with GrapheneOS for testing & demos really. But for personal use my main phone is still the S7 which works great. Maybe when the pixel 7 comes out I'll switch to that so I can actually have good security & privacy instead of my patchwork privacy mods on this phone, my issue is the pixel 6 is just way too big.

You did the same with the disable directions, in the description you said pm disable-user --user 0 ****** but in the bloatware list you said pm disable-user --user 0 ****** Again, which one do we use? And when we disable it do we disable it via the factory provided disable button, your way, both, or doesn't matter? Why disable the app before uninstalling it? I first disabled it via disabling it on the phone but then when i tried to uninstall it the Windows Powershell didn't respond when I would hit enter. Why?
Great instruction! However I can't get my android 9.0 phone recognized by the PC (as seen around the 4:08 mark). Is there a troubleshoot for that or any driver etc. to enable communication over USB? I have USB debug turned on in developer mode and the phone recognized the USB connection (asks if I want to allow data access or charge only).

big note for people that are struggling it might not be your phone but instead it might be the cable you are using not all usb cables support data transfer i had to use like 4 cables to get it right
I had the same problem. I noticed in the video he typed "cd" in the command prompt. Once I did this it fixed it for me. Also if you right click on the folder there is a copy address; which also helped to know. Also if you right click in the command prompt it pastes.

First they showed up as uninstalled, but the phone wasn't showing a difference in the amount of free storage oddly enough. Still no difference in the the storage it's calculating, but most of the apps are gone from the system application list.
why use -k option leaving cached files? you should not need them since you are uninstalling the app (and also you made a backup of the system), right? I appreciate an explanation

Start your command prompt in Administrator Mode, then type cd followed by the path where you unzipped the downloaded files. Just like shown in the video..

Use Smart Switch to make a backup to your PC. I'm not sure on Microsoft apps beyond Outlook and Microsoft Lens. Those two have no restrictions or payments, but I have no idea about the others as I don't use them.

I think the OS sees the newly installed app as a system app as if it was the originally installed one. I haven't found a way around it, so I think the only way to uninstall it is to use the pricess in my video again. A bit of a pain unfortunately.

I have found that the Game Optimizing Service is one of the few apps that will reinstall itself (Or be reinstalled by another service). Good news is that is does nothing bad, and if you don't use it, it generally doesn't run in the background.

The same process should work with any Android device. Just be sure to research what you will remove to make sure it's safe, and backup, backup, backup! :)
Hello mate. I have a question: what happens if I'll uninstall standart launcher on my Vivo x50 pro plus? The thing is that this phone was released for chineese market exclusively and well... there are chineese apps all-over! You can download normal apps use use them pretty fine but only two biggest pronlems i couldn't defeat: 1) standart v-app store is running automatically imstead of Play Market when you open an app's link 2) chineese analog of Google feed (news bar which appears when you swipe to the right from home screen) can not be changed to the google's one. Any help? :)
Unfortunately I have no idea about that phone as I only use Samsung phones. There are ways to use different launchers, but I have never done it so I'm not sure on the process. If you can install Play Store, it should be safe to remove the reinstalled Chinese version, same for other apps that you can download your preferred version of.
Samsung users, remember not to uninstall Galaxy Store. Critical system apps like Accessibility and stuff gets updated from it. You're free to uninstall Galaxy Themes and Samsung Account though.
Nope, the apps will be permanently removed until you do a factory reset (This will bring everything back) or you reinstall from the play store etc if the apps are available there (for example, gmail, chrome browser etc can be reinstalled from the play store). The apps will even still be gone after an Android update too, unless they are included in the update itself.

maybe a dumb question but what kind of usb connection must be specified when connecting to the pc? there's file transfer, tethering, midi, ptp, or no data transfer. I assume "file transfer" but that's not working for me.

All set. Using a windows 10 machine gets the phone recognized straight away.

Just a heads up. I did some uninstalls prior to updating and some apps stayed uninstalled i.e. facebook did not reinstall with update.

Worked great but some of the apps said “failure [not installed for user 0] so it found it and it knows it’s there but I can’t get rid of it

That means either you made a typo in your command, or the app doesn't exist anyway.

Try disconnecting and reconnecting your phone a few times until you get the prompt to allow your device, after enabling USB debugging.

I uninstalled gos in my samsung m21 after sucess it is still showing in app inspector
Yeah, that one self-reinstalls for some reason.
It doesn't actually do anything unless you use game mode, so it's pretty benign to leave there.

Sir, can i uninstall game launcher, game optimising service from my galaxy device? Will it cause any probs?
I have found that the Game Optimizing Service is one of the few apps that will reinstall itself (Or be reinstalled by another service).
Good news is that is does nothing bad, and if you don't use it, it generally doesn't run in the background.
How do I pull up the green command prompt. Adb devices command does not work
It's just the Windows Command Prompt.
Start Menu > Programs > Windows System > Command Prompt
Hey Mate I am in Sydney , I brought a Samsung s9 from someone but it's a Korean/Japanese version it works perfectly fine but it still has its own bloatware/ carrier branding specifically LGU+ & 3 other apps......
How do I get rid of it?... PLEASE HELP a brother out 😭
the process works, but it's tedious. Tried it on a Galaxy S8+. I dont' use it very much but i'll see how well the battery lasts, etc...

The same process should work with any Android device. Just be sure to research what you will remove to make sure it's safe, and backup, backup, backup! :)
Samsung A20 will not show a build number.

Hello mate. I have a question: what happens if I'll uninstall standart launcher on my Vivo x50 pro plus? The thing is that this phone was released for chineese market exclusively and well... there are chineese apps all-over! You can download normal apps use use them pretty fine but only two biggest pronlems i couldn't defeat: 1) standart v-app store is running automatically imstead of Play Market when you open an app's link 2) chineese analog of Google feed (news bar which appears when you swipe to the right from home screen) can not be changed to the google's one. Any help? :)
Unfortunately I have no idea about that phone as I only use Samsung phones.
There are ways to use different launchers, but I have never done it so I'm not sure on the process.
If you can install Play Store, it should be safe to remove the reinstalled Chinese version, same for other apps that you can download your preferred version of.

Samsung users, remember not to uninstall Galaxy Store. Critical system apps like Accessibility and stuff gets updated from it. You're free to uninstall Galaxy Themes and Samsung Account though.

Nope, the apps will be permanently removed until you do a factory reset (This will bring everything back) or you reinstall from the play store etc if the apps are available there (for example, gmail, chrome browser etc can be reinstalled from the play store).
The apps will even still be gone after an Android update too, unless they are included in the update itself.

sudo apt install adb

maybe a dumb question but what kind of usb connection must be specified when connecting to the pc? there's file transfer, tethering, midi, ptp, or no data transfer. I assume "file transfer" but that's not working for me.
I just used data transfer mode.
