As a retainer of the Oda, Shibata Katsuie originally served under Nobunaga's father, and later pledged support for Nobunaga's older brother, Nobukatsu. Katsuie tried to pull a coup against Nobunaga and failed, but rather than kill him, Oda spared him, allowing him to rise in the ranks as one of his best retainers apart from the likes of Hideyoshi, Toshiie, and Ieyasu. Basara 4 Katsuie essentially submits to the iron will of Nobunaga after trying to defy him at the behest of Shogun Ashikaga and failed, this takes the place of the family feud since Basara has glossed over lesser personalities left and right. After Honnoji, Katsuie supported Nobunaga's third son as the successor to the Oda, but Hideyoshi eventually defeats him to rid himself of competition in succeeding Nobunaga. Some of Katsuie's dialogue here implies that he is plotting to succeed Nobunaga, or at worst, take over by force.
8:05 Katsuie's laugh is very
creepy. :D
Finally Yukimura's moveset is improved. I don't like his moves in early games. From what I've seen, now he could be badass like his rival
this game has less and lesser enemies on the fields, which is disappointing
and wtf with that 'happy' Katsuie lol
I guess he wasn't sad at this time.
