Thank Mochi sensei for your experience and positive reviews about the app. We hope your TH-cam channel would achieve more success with the educational values that you have been bringing to the community😊
MochiMochi app is the real MVP! I used to dread studying kanji, but now I actually look forward to it because of this app. It's definitely worth the investment. Thank you for sharing it with us in your video!
Kanji is really convenient. Once you learn to recognize common ones and the definition, even if you don't know how to use them grammatically or read them out loud, you can still understand a vague idea of what many signages say. Also help when traveling internationally across Asia when encountering signages in Chinese but no Japanese, you can still get a close enough understanding on what they mean. Granted, not every definition is one to one, but many simple words uses similar characters and definition. For example, 'Exit' is pretty universal and 'Country' is identical.
MochiMochi seems like a comprehensive tool for Japanese learners with its variety of courses and topics. It's great to have such a resource. I've been using it for 1 year and now I don't be afraid of learning Kanji anymore :)) Anyway, thank you so much for this helpful content. 🫶
Thank you! I've only got 2131 left to go! Actually, this is a great video and you are a natural teacher. I'm in the middle of trying the learn the most common KANJI for reading menus, shopping, and signs for getting around.
I just downloaded MochiMochi app after watching your video and I'm already hooked! The graphics and animations are so cute and the quizzes are actually fun. Thank you for creating such an amazing app!
Your videos always make me feel so happy and help me feel like I can escape the stressors of life. Thank-you for the upload! I also really love these learning videos. I hope you've been doing well!!
great lesson, my friend. i will have to learn thos more often. hope you, Mike and Airi are all doing well and staying safe. love and hugs to you all, my friends.
I've been struggling with kanji, but your video has given me a fresh perspective and renewed determination. Learning Japanese feels more achievable now.
This and MochiMochi has legitimately improved how I think about the organisation of kanji, which I hope'll be a big help in the future. Thank you so much!
I tried MochiMochi for a while. As a visual learner, I find the visual aids in MochiMochi extremely beneficial. It helps me associate the kanji with their meanings more effectively.😁🙏🏻
This kind of videos are very useful, because this way of learning Kanjis with their onyomi - kunyomi forms and examples, gives you an integral knowledge that only learning the kanji character and its meaning. Thank for your videos, super like! Please, more videos like this!! ❤
Another fantastic kanji lesson! I didn't know all of them, but I'm learning slowly. Your videos are really helpful. Thank you, Reina! Ganbare! Sonjya mattane!
Also, fun fact, you could combine naka and kuni to be read as chuukoku which means China (yes, the literal meaning is middle/center country). Which I think further complicates why kanji is so difficult because unless you are well-versed in Japanese, learning to understand and read kanji is difficult because as demonstrated, if someone saw the kanji for naka and the kanji for kuni next to one another, one would only assume to read it as nakakuni and not chuukoku. Likewise, seeing the kanji for the number one and the kanji for person, one should be reading it as ichi hito but instead, it's read as hitori (meaning one person). It's stuff like this that makes kanji learning especially difficult because a fair number of kanji can be read in a variety of different ways, especially when combined with other kanji.
I'm taking a Japanese course this Fall so this couldn't have come at a better time. I'm hoping to get a head start on learning hiragana, katakana, and kanji before the semester begins.
MochiMochi's systematic approach to organizing vocabulary and kanji into different topics is incredibly helpful. It makes learning more structured and efficient.🥰
Your dedication to creating a playlist dedicated to Japanese language learning is commendable, Reina. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise with us!
God I hated studying kanji. It took so many years to get decent at reading them even though you can use mnemonics to cram several of them quickly. Cramming just doesn't equal real knowledge. But it's also really cool to watch an anime and actually recognize a kanji in the anime. I remember how excited I got when I recognized the kanji for fire 火 in Naruto for the first time (I didn't have to look it up, I was just watching the anime, recognized it and thought that was really cool).
I was just watching on YT to a version of Suzume no Tojimari with lyrics and first thing I see is a symbol from your lesson. My reaction was "OMG I know that one from Reina! ". I kept watching and I saw another one. It's all coming together now!
Thank you for this! I’m learning Japanese after being at an Intermediate level in Mandarin Chinese and it’s a relief that a lot of the kanji in Japanese are the same meanings as the corresponding hanzi in Mandarin Chinese since that’s where a lot of it came from originally! The pronunciations differ a little so it’ll be a little tricky in my brain to separate but a little easier to understand when written out.
I don't even know if this is an easy or hard thing to do, but would it be possible to add furigana on your example sentences? I think that would help me with the kanji that aren't the focus.
Thank you for the lesson Sensei. Very educational and informitive. I have found a educational videogame "Learn Japanese to Survive: Kanji Combat". It tries... to be a RPG. The game is good learning by repetition. I just question the artwork. Story-wise, if your in a survival situation, shouldn't characters have a warface like Naruto? The characters smile wayyy too much. That's just me... Arigatou gozaimasu!
Hi and congrats on the video. When do I need to spell the “y” when it’s “small” ゃゅょ? Because I realized it's rarely spelled out, you hear just "A" or "U" or "O". For example on "ジョウ" (小) or on ニュウ (入). You got it? Thank you so much.
These frequently used kanji are really helpful. It's interesting to know that they are taught to children in primary school. Learning the least complex ones first is a smart approach.
As a Chinese native speaker, I found these Kanji or Hanzi 汉字mean the same as in Chinese, but the pronunciation is a different story. About 1/3 of them sound similar, 1/3 sound slightly similar and the rest sound unrelated at all.
how many takes did it take to get those pauses right? Must be really awkward to record those. Im laughing at all the potential outtakes. Great video and something new(ish)

hello Mochi
Great !
Thank Mochi
It's great to have a quick review to test our knowledge. The countdown adds a fun element to it. KOKU for 国 means country!
The pictures you included to show the evolution of kanji were fascinating! I never knew how much it had changed over time.
Great video, Reina! I always enjoy your Japanese lessons. Konnichiwa!

True True True 👍👍👍
The MochiMochi app sounds like a game-changer for learning kanji and vocabulary. I love the concept of spaced time repetition!
I've been using MochiMochi app for a while now and it's seriously the best app to learn kanji! Thank you for introducing it in your video!

Thank you so much for waiting 🥹💛

The fish radical is so useful! I can't believe I never realized that all fish names have the same radical.
I love how MochiMochi reinforces learning through multiple channels-visual, audio, and pictographic. It caters to different learning styles.

wow, sounds great

I didn't know some of these kanji, but your video has inspired me to continue my language learning journey. Thank you for the motivation!
Yay! Reina!! you’re back!!!

Always good to coming back to these early kanjis. Thanks for the video 😮

Thank you so much! I just started learning Japanese and this explanation helps a lot! どうもありがとうございます!

Well explained. Waiting for more videos like this. It will help us a lot specially for those who needs to be in Japan for Good.
I was only looking you up yesterday wondering if there were any new videos out.
☺️🎉 thank you for watching and commenting!!! I know it’s been a hot minute 🫣
Hope you are all doing well since your last video. 😊
You might do Japanese vocabulary shorts
Reina always scares me on how happy she is. then I REMEBER IT'S REINA.

Useful. Though I doubt I personally would ever find a use for it.

It's not beauty, affability or intellect; it's using "trepidation" in a sentence because it is the most concise term. Yeah, Reina is cool like that.
If only my memory would cooperate and retain all this stuff, I'd love to learn a lot of languages fluently.
Wow. I remember in karate when one would strike you, and you struck the opponent at the same time, if it happened, it was a deai
Mochimochi sounds great but I do not know if it will help me with a JLPT 5 test because it does not go over kunyomi and onyomi
Thoughts?
Part 2 more Japanese learning
☺️
