  • Chinese most common AABB idioms.
    I have heard from some of you saying that you are not sure which idioms you should learn. Since there are so many idioms in Chinese, and most of them are not used even by natives. Chinese people only use some common ones! So, you don't need to know all!
    Let's start with the simplest AABB idioms. In this video, I talk about 10 of the most commonly used AABB idioms in Chinese. Compare to regular Chinese idioms, AABB idioms are easier to understand and memorize. Use simple AABB idioms to level up your Chinese right away in daily life, and make your Chinese sounds authentic like a native!

    "don't swallow your tongue" and "spit it out" correspond well 别吞吞吐吐
    but unfortunately they are never combined that way even though they both could be so combined and retain their sense.

    YiQi xiao jie, tun should be translated as "to swallow," not swollen. "Tun tu" can be translated in English as "to mince words," but honestly probably most Americans don't know how to use the word "mince" correctly.
