Congratulations!!! I remembered my process of getting a driver's license and struggling with scanning like CBR wanted to. I cannot agree more with your tip on choosing the instructor you feel most comfortable with. My first instructor made me feel really anxious about my mistakes which slowed my progress. All I can say is that driving will make you feel really free after a couple months.
I just saw this video. Congrats again Natasha. I feel you. Taking the driving practical exam in NL felt more nervewracking than taking my board exam in the Philippines. :) I also changed my driving instructor after failing my first exam because I wasn't comfortable with his teaching style and it seems like he was more interested on getting more money from my lessons than making me pass my practical exam. After changing to HERS (company name), I learned how to be confident and passed my exam smoothly. So yes, the driving company really matters. I highly recommend HERS (with Dew as instructor) if you are taking your lesson and exam in Rotterdam.
I am also having my 3rd attempt this week and I am so nervous. Thanks for sharing your experience, makes me feel a bit better knowing that I am not the only one that struggle that much 😅
(Took me 5+1 attempts quite some time ago. For the 6th, I changed school, and I passed immediately). Quite amazing that it takes so long in NL to get the driving licence. Why is it amazing? Because if you drive in NL, you find a very bad driving morale. => Tailgating on the highway, combined with active aggression => not keeping the safety distance ( speed/2 in meters) => not keeping the side distance from bikes when they overtake them => in general, tendency to ignore rules ( conditional priority - almost hit me on bike 2X, overtaking at the solid line, in the train crossing) => Half of the Dutch drivers is called Snijder. De Bochtensnijder, I mean ( cutting the curves) In general, I wonder, how come that there are no mass-accidents every day :) In Germany, the driving morale is much better ( although they can also do stupid things). They understand the traffic, the car and the driving in general more than Dutch, alas.
Once you get used driving there you will struggle driving back in Manila. Your mind is now trained to follow rules but the environment is free for all. This is why I don’t drive in the Phil
Hi there, ive just come to the netherlands. Is it mandatory to take driving lessons if i already have a drivers license in another country? or just a recommendation
Hi, I'm new to your channel, can I ask you? is it only manual you can apply in Netherlands to get a driver's license, or is it okay to apply automatic, or there is no automatic only manual?. I appreciate so much if you reply, thank you so much. New resident of Nederlands here :)
I’m happy to see your experience getting the drivers license here gives me an idea of what will happen, I live in amsterdam and been postponing to get mine since it’s so expensive/challenging hahah take care, drive safe! Hehe
I just failed for the second time. I will not try any more as I just figured out that I can use my 30% ruling to convert. I will definitely not be the cash cow for the driving school or CBR :) I had an ok instructor at the beginning. I felt I can almost pass last time, but she quitted the job after my first exam. Then I got a very very shitty instructor. He was nice a person, always saying good things. But he is extremely irresponsible: Hard to contact or make an appointment, always on holidays, and never explain too much during the course, and always on the phone. It took me a whole year to book the second exam and we only drove 5 times in this one year. I learnt everything in the Netherlands from zero, so I definitely need to practice. I think the problem is the exam is hard but a lot of instructors are not qualified there is almost no to check their qualification, and no competition between schools. Btw, before sign up, one should always check the slagpercentage of your school on CBR.
Hi! Thanks for watching my driving journey in the Netherlands :)) I took a LOT of lessons. Initially 10, then when I failed I always had extra 5-10. So about 20 in total I guess. It was expensive :))
I was unlucky with my first examiner. I failed when the driving went well, my driving instructor drove along on the back bench and was very happy with the result. So after the examiner mentioned I failed, because of ‘insecure driving’, he was fuming. The second time I was lucky (I succeeded), because I was driving badly, my examiner intervened once. When we came back to the CBR I was certain I’d failed again. But to my surprise, the examiner told me I passed because he knew who my first examiner was. I was so relieved that I wasn’t excited at all.
Omg…almost same thing happened to me! Only my second one I was def unlucky with the examiner. I had him again on my third attempt but as an observer at the back - my examiner was new. He then passed me knowing I did sort of fine in my second attempt. Crazy!
Hi, thanks for sharing your experience! Can I ask which driving school you went to (the latter one)? And can I contact your instructor? I heard from my friend that driving school usually puts you in a waiting list and you have to wait for 1 to 2 months to officially start learning. I would like to find an instructor who can take me on asap haha.
Hello! Sure, I went to de Poort which is in Zuid-Oost. It really doesn’t matter though where your driving school is since lessons are always in Sloterdijk. My instructor is Asan, hopefully he still has some slots for you. Contact them at 020 695 9822
Thanks for all these great info. My question is when you mentioned we can apply for "special CBR Exam for driving anxety fear"... and if someone pass that type of the exam ..does that shows it or mentioned it in the driving licence certificat or card? any ideas?
Hi Natasha, I watched this after failed for my first attempt today 😢 The same as you, i am from asian country, Indonesia. Which driving has no rules 😂 And tend to brought my old habit of driving. The thing that really bother me is, the time of waiting for me to get spot for exam, so frustrating! (Happened also for my theory exam, which I succeeded on the 2nd attempt 😃) I finished all my lesson but my exam date was in 6 months. That drives me craazzzyy.. and of course i need extra lesson before the exam, which hurt my wallet. But, gladly i am not alone.. Thank you for your video and all the tips. Wish me luck for my 2nd attempt (which I really hope not so long from now) Tot volgende keer, Groetjes uit Den Haag
Hey Natasha, which driving school do you use / recommend in den haag? I also know someone from indonesia who lives in den haag and he just failed the practical exam, despite having years of driving experience.. 😅
Thank you for the tips. I'm also a Filipina and in the process of getting a license. So far passing the theory seems to be a challenge. 😅 Congratulations on your rijbewijs!!! 🎉

Tailgating is quite the thing for me being a new driver, it makes me quite nervous to see cars that close behind me almost every time I drive.
I felt all you said, coming from the same country, taking my 2nd attempt 🙏 hopeful
Ahhh goodluck! Hope you pass and get the license this time!!
@@TheTravellingFoxes YES i passed, finally out of my shoulder n can move on to next goal
failling driving test in the NL is so painful ! I know how it felt.
Absolutely, glad to know I wasn’t the only one though! They really make it tough for first timers!
Watching this as I prepare for my 2nd attempt! Aghhh!
Good luck!!! :)
did you pass?
@@LunaWaves I did!!
Wait was the bike merging? If he was then don’t you have the right of way and he has to yield till the lane is clear?
Once you get used driving there you will struggle driving back in Manila. Your mind is now trained to follow rules but the environment is free for all. This is why I don’t drive in the Phil
I was entering a crossroad so yes, the bike had right of way but he was cycling fast I didn’t react in time!
Thats also the reason the Dutch are allowed to drive in most countries. Because of their strict driving course.
😂😂😂 My story is the same as you, drive in Yemen for 15 years, it is more reactive drive, I fail first and second, now I am waiting for my 3rd time

Hello! You can normally use international license for 2-3 months

Cool! Perseverance always wins!
I agree! Thank you for watching 😊🙏
Nice experience..watching from Malaysia
Terima kasih! Thank you 🙏
with your manual driver's license, can you use it for automatic cars?
Hello, yes I can! Both auto and manual :)

It is!! Haha you just need to push through and get it done. It was my focus for 2021 although 1 yr seems a lot hahaha. Good luck!

Hello! I don’t think so. I think it will be the same :) You just have a more lenient driving instructor who will allow you to take pauses.
they are really ripping people off here
