Fun fact: This performance was recently voted as BTS' best stage performance in an award show, and it was featured in a RUN BTS episode. Jimin mentioned that he felt like throwing up the entire time because the choreo was so hard and fast. But he was so proud of it :)
@@nehasaroj8697 so then don't watch a reaction, just watch the performance on your static home place. Do your own channel so you can dictate what to do and good luck with it.
AS YOU CAN SEE GRAMMYS ARE NOTHING COMPARED TO THIS AWARD. THIS IS THE REASON WHY GRAMMYS NEEDS BTS BUT LET'S BE HONEST BTS IS SO MUCH FOR GRAMMYS. THIS IS THE BEST PERFORMANCE EVER, THEY'RE THE BEST STORYTELLERS, SPEECHLESS!!!!!! 💜
I find it fascinating that America and the industry in the country which is really focused on entertainment have really small stages for awards shows unlike in the east where they recognize that in order to have incredible performances you need to give some room for the artists.
@@anaisc8733 the american music industry and all the labels are massive cheapskates for the amount of money they have, they just want to hoard it and not spend it on their artists they don't care enough to do better staging for, i think that's the issue. people in the west are not used to this type of performance so nobody really calls it out either. also, the camerawork in the west is horrendous every time bts performs at any award show there so, honestly, i don't think even the stage crew in the west could keep up with it anyway lmao
37:28 "i am guessing each of them is a god" Yeah,, you were right. BTS members intro on Dionysus stage, they are represent as the god of Olympus. And all stages story has related to Dionysus 1. The Gods/goddess - V represents Apollo, the god of sun (Apollo also known as god of music n dance) - Jin represented Ares who rode his war horse - Jimin represents Artemis, the twin sister of Apollo who dancing under moonlight - Suga represent Hades, the underworld god (or other theory said, he was Hephaestus, the god of fire), that why he is on fire. - Jungkook represent Poseidon, the god of sea (that why he is dancing on the water) - Jhope represent of Zeus, the god of thunder (the laser effects while he is dancing is a symbol of Zeus's thunderbolt) - RM represent of Dionysus, the staff that he swing at the opening stage it was thyrsus, a staff carried by Dionysus. 2. The big horn that blown is represent Dionysus drinking cup that the shape is like a big horn (it known as drinking horn). 3. The seven lights lamp that coming down one by one after the members perform, it created a pattern a star constellation called corona borealis. It was Dionysus's mortal wife crown that she wore on her wedding day with Dionysus that was made by Hephaestus. After she died, Dionysus put her wife's crown to heaven as star constellation to commemorate her as a proof for his undying love for his wife. 4. The panther baloon is a symbol of one of Dionysus sacred animal (beside panther, it was snake, leopard, tiger n bull) 5. The horses is represent the Thracian Horses. Is the strongest horse that raised by thracian horseman to worship Dionysus. 6. The flower girls is represent maenads, a female follower of Dionysus
THIS PERFORMANCE IS THE COSTLIEST PERFORMANCE ANY KPOP GROUP HAS EVER DONE ON AN AWARD SHOW. USUALLY THE AGENCIES DON'T LET GO SO MUCH MONEY FOR A PERFORMANCE BUT BIG HIT UNDERSTANDS THEIR FAN'S DEMANDS!
So here's a list of songs in this performance Intro: Persona (2019) Boy In Luv (2014) Boy With Luv (2019) Mikrokosmos (2019) BTS solo entrances V- No More Dream (2013) Jin- Danger (2014) Jimin- I Need U (2015) Suga- Fire (2016) Jungkook- Save Me (2016) J-Hope- Fake Love (2018) RM Dionysus (2019) Then finally Dionysus (2019), they used N.O (2013) for the dance break. I just want to see BTS (OT7) live in concert before they have to start enlisting in the military. I still have my tickets from last year.
- Intro: Persona's classroom set was pre recorded but the audio was live (all the effects are added digitally afterwards) - Mikrokosmos's whole performance were prerecorded to give them time to get change - Jungkook's water dance was prerecorded, but he still danced to it on the stage without water or proper lighting - The horses were also pre recorded, I'm pretty sure they weren't on the live stage everything else was live :) the pre recordings happened the day/2 days before the award show
Heard HBO trying to get the rights to air BTS concerts and shows. That would be interesting. Would anyone even enjoy western award shows if they start watching Korean award shows🤔
bye bye western awards.. I honestly have never watched any American awards until BTS starting appearing in them. Then I started watching them (only the ones that they will appear) but if BTS ever does a performance like this one on a western award it would completely set up the bar for all the artists.. I wish they could do that. It will be epic!!!
@@patriciazavman2429 I don't think Western performers could match that bar. So I doubt any Western award shows would ever allow BTS to do something like this. Sadly. Because the bar needs to be raised. 🙏💪💜
19:01 these are the 2 eldest members of the younger group in bighit after bts. they are called Tomorrow X Together (TXT) and the 3 younger members were forced to leave the program since they are still minors (under 20 yrs old) which Korea had a law/curfew that minors should not be out/working after 10pm. their songs are fire too if you want to check them out.
The thing with Jungkook as a singer or rapper, when he joined the company they saw he was versatile so they wanted to see which one he was better at, singing or rapping. They picked singing but still made him a sub rapper and the main vocalist.
As a Karmy, Bighit asked him to become a main vocalist because only Jungkook can be a main vocalist of the group and that’s what Bighit said. But JK was good at everything so Bighit also agreed him to rap too. As time goes by, JK wanted to focus more on vocal so he doesn’t rap a lot these days. He still loves to sing, rap and dance. He’s our Korean’s national main vocal.
The hilarious part is Jimin and JHope are the angel and sunshine of the group. But when asked, most members voted that Jimin and JHope are the scariest when angry.
Because its always the people who are usually happy and nice that are the scariest when angry because its so different from usual and therefore unsettling. 😅 At least that's my theory lol
Bts did a butter interview and they were asked “what kind of music genre would you be interested in making next,” he asked the whole group and jungkook spoke up and said he wants to do more rap… I almost cried so if it doesn’t happen I’m writing a stern lettter 😂😂😂😂😂
Funny you say that, because a few days ago I was asking the same exact thing after "Permission to Dance" released & I wrote that BTS should return next to their roots of hip-hop/rap. But yet when I said that I was shot down by some fans who said that BTS should do whatever they want. And here, you say that JK said they should do more rapping, which I just learned here. So it's ironic that a fan like me says something & gets scorned while the band itself says exactly the same thing in the same context & gets praised, heh.
@@robwebnoid5763 I guess the armys just didn’t want anyone to force things on them, instead do whatever they want. Since they do want to rap, they would obviously be supported
@@robwebnoid5763 There has been criticism recently toward BTS with their music such as Dynamite, Life goes on, Butter and now PTD, some have heavily criticized the group saying they preferred their old music even though their album Map Of the Soul 7 was released not even a year and half ago and they were as always authentic in their music, they were their usual self, even a darker tone than their album Persona which is therefore in no way similar to their last songs. What some find it hard to understand is that Dynamite was made for Army and people around the world during the Corona Crisis to keep people hope, it's the same for Life goes on and their recent PTD, Butter is a lighter song for the summer, well anyway, these songs are made in the spirit of support and healing during these difficult times, so they don't actually do hip-hop and it's not dramatic, as soon as the world is better they will release music in the continuity of their albums (I'm sure they are already working on it), maybe even that JK and V will release music in the genre that tempt them, I have I understand that V also wanted to turn to a more jazz universe, everyone can do what they want, but in the meantime they take criticism while they only want to give people hope, not nice.
@@hansnoopy9548 ... You know what would be a cool experiment, even if I know it isn't possible because I don't have any business or personal relationship with Hybe, is if I tell Hybe what kind of genre for bts to do next, then i publicly say that later, get shot down again by some fans, then later bts comes out exactly with what I just secretly told them. And I tell them exactly what to do about 10-97 times & bts does it exactly what i told them every time. You have to wonder how army would respond. They will either scorn me every time i say what bts should do next or they might think i'm some sort of prophet/nostradamus, heh.
@@anaisc8733 ... Yes that's exactly what I was saying, that I was just suggesting what they might do next & not a replacement of what they have been doing recently, which have all been a reflection of the times. What they have already done is fine, what we can be waiting for is the NEXT songs on the horizon, which has always been the case for 8 years, waiting for what's next/comebacks. Let's not also forget that bts was an underdog, fighting back against haters & staying alive, doing that with angst & aggressive diss rap/lyrics, which this was one way they acquired a lot of new fans. Also, I'm confused what you mean that mots7 was released under 6 months ago. As far as i know it released over a year ago, before planet-wide quarantine. Well, unless you meant BE (rel. november 2020).
"is anibody else got chills when RM talk ?" Yes, some millions people Lol ! A lot of male ARMY call him "Président" .Maybe the combination of great charisma on stage, natural authority witch come with his leader role since near ten years now, his "bass sound" voice, and beautiful words. For Dyonisos Intro, there is a lot of symbols, of course. The seven lights, one for each member, is also a constellation, and the symbol of the crown of Ariadne, when she married Dyonisos V is Appolo, God of the sun (music No more dream) Jin is Ares, God of War (music: Danger) Jimin is Artemis, Goddess of the moon (and nature and hunting), the twin sister of Apollo. (music: I need you) Suga is Hephaistos, God of fire (and the music of course, is Fire) Jungkook is Poseidon, God of Ocean (music Save me) JHope is Zeus, God of Thunder (the laser) (music: Fake Love) And Rm is Dyonisos himself, God of wine (you can see the vine wrapped around his scepter)
The horse segment was pre-recorded...without the Live audience. That way it was, foremost, SAFE for the cast AND horses...but also to allow for unforeseen events. When it panned away before they start singing is when BTS came in live.
at 19:07 where there are two handsome guys fanning over bts are yeonjun blue and soobin black hair, they are from same entertainment and basically sibling grps, they debuted as the second boy grp of big hit in 2019
It's the same each time - BTS turning an Award show into their concert!!!! Mikrokosmos was incredible - a galaxy came to the stage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Every performance gives me chills - I know exactly what you mean - we can all shine
This is there legendary stage. Couple of months back Bighit did a survey and this performance was ARMY favorite live stage. Suga always says that once u see BTS live on stage u will never like anyone else. I always miss out on ur live streams, we have a 12 hour time difference between ur country and mine. I can't emphasize more how much I like ur reaction videos.
BTS don’t just bring the scene, they rip it up chew it spit it out and take it to a whole new level, they compete with themselves and better themselves every time. What is their limit?
The second song (classroom setting) was the final song on their first tour (2014). That was back when they were getting cut from music shows, not being taken seriously, not winning anything. Performing THIS song - with the original 2014 set and original 2014 choreo - at THIS show? It's a massive flex. They're saying "This is what you missed back when you were ignoring us. We've always been good enough to take all the awards." And yes, they took all the awards that night.
the lights coming down formed a star constellation....I had to keep reminding myself this is on an award's show; NOT a concert. They are truly amazing performers. Glad you are enjoying your journey :)
what you said about each of the members representing a different greek god!! Yes!! there are a lot of theories about it but from what I remember the god they represented went like this: Taehyung is Apollo the god of the sun, healing, music, etc. his solo stage makes reference to the "circus of the sun" Cirque de Soleil and he has a sun crown in a VCR at some point. he also has matching twin earings with jimin which ill explain later Jin is Aphrodite the goddess of love, fertility, his solo stage makes reference to the trojan horse and the trojan war, which was started as a dispute between Aphrodite and another god. he also wears pearls in the GDA VCR which are commonly associated with Aphrodite. Jimin is Artemis the goddess of the hunt and chastity/purity, in his solo he wears all white, commonly associated with artemis' purity. Artemis is also often associated with the moon, jimins stage feels as though its is at night with a glowing full moon. and as mentioned he wears matching twin earrings with taehyung, Artemis and apollo are twins. Yoongi is Hephaestus the god of fire and blacksmiths, his solo makes obvious reference to fire of course Jungkook is Poseidon the god of the sea and horses. his solo clearly references water Jhope is Zeus the god of thunder and the skies. his solo has lots of moving lasers and loud bass which kinda give the feeling of thunder and lightning lastly, namjoon is dionysus the god of wine, religious ecstasy, performance, and festivity. He obviously holds dionysus's thyrsus, a staff which is his symbol as well as a symbol for prosperity, hedonism, and enjoyment. namjoon also holds the staff as they perform the song.
Honestly one of The funniest things in the world to me was when I watched the last RUN BTS episode and (very very mild spoiler of one small part) they had a whole section where they had done a worldwide survey w/ ARMY and BTS had to guess what Army ranked certain songs and performances. Anyway one of them was best live performance and half of BTS were somehow SO CONFUSED when this epic Dionysius performance was number 1 (and the other 3 that got it right only got it right because their first choice was wrong!) 🤣🤣 the looks on their faces!!!! And Hobi asked “huh, why?” And someone else asked “why?” LIKE BRUH DID YOU ALL NOT PERFORM AT THIS SHOW OR WHAT?! WERE YOU GUYS SOMEHOW NOT EVEN THERE OR SOMETHING 🤣🤣🤣 when I tell you I had to pause it because their reactions made me laugh so much..
Namjoon's English is so so good and he's so articulate, his voice is the kind of voice that people will listen to with respect, i love that about him, he's the perfect leader, everytime he talks between the performances everyone just listen, and sometimes it gives us chill
I fall in love with Hobi all over again throughout this video, his smile is so contagious, i'm so happy everytime i see his smile, i can't help but smiling, he's the man with the most contagious smile 🥰
Fun fact: BTS (and other Kpop idols too) actually sometimes do dance practices with hoodies, jackets and thicker materials on to kind of train their bodies to become more used to the heat on the stages.
@@MarilynPF I'm sure it's also good to get used to dancing with weights - some of their stage costumes (eg the black feather pelt for Singularity) are very heavy.
intro: persona really a great song, the lyrics still impressed me till now😳 mots series are no joke references to jung, really respect namjoon with these deep thoughts
Yay, I finally got to watch this! I just finished a huge exam today and had been saving this since it's so long. Lol, and all of this was for an award show! They basically gave a 40min concert/musical! This is why ARMY always say western award shows don't have stages big enough for BTS. Like how do you go back and watch BBMA/Grammy performances after something like this? And their stages literally don't have the size, technology, and capacity for BTS to truly put on a performance and show off the full extent of their artistry
I'm soo excited for you to react to the dance breaks in dionysus!! This is a legendary performance that ties in various stories of greek gods, that also relates to the lights that come down one by one for each of the members. Also, if you weren't aware, each member represents the chronological journey of their discography which I found really cool
This is why the Grammy's can't handle BTS. They shortened their 3 minute song so that they hopefully wouldn't upstage the other performers. Whatever. BTS & BigHit know how to put on a performance! 🙏💪💜🎶
Wow!!! As many times as I’ve seen this performance I didn’t even think that maybe they might have been representing the gods! Of course I see the contrast between fire and water and Dionysus but it never clicked!!! Learn something new from Army everyday!
I've seen this so many times allready, but still getting chills everytime. BTS are truely amazing, it's mindblowing, and I love seeing you diving in to it fully! For me, there's no question about your sincerity.
You can tell that with each performance they improve, because they want to impress themselves and see progress. They want us to see a better version of themselves each time and it’s so refreshing to see artists that are motivated to keep improving. It’s so incredibly motivating honestly. Always in for a surprise. 👏🏽💜 Edit: I’ve seen this performance so many times, but I teared up around 47:15 for some reason. I’m just so proud of them. 😪
19:14 Within kpop the groups are very supportive of one another in general, the only hate is personally within the companies to be honest, but that was TXT which are under the same company as BTS.
no groups have been openly shady but not all are and have been supportive behind closed doors, there's a reason bts have multiple references in their music to "sunbaes using their seniority to harass others (hobi in the last verse of hangsang)" and for example, yoongi's verse in airplane pt.2 basically shows it as well. they've also literally said in the past that some artists in the hallways during award shows and music shows have not treated them well. it's not all as nice as it seems. but not *everyone* is bad, obviously.
@@forg_tful. I’m speaking generally, groups are usually supportive to each other saying they’ve been through the same stuff (training based). Groups or people who are shady usually are just jealous people who choose to invalidate others for their own well being.
@@madisondaniellee i wouldn't necessarily agree, groups almost never really support each other or even mention each other publicly, some don't even support performances of others during award shows for various reasons (from ships to just companies not wanting the groups to be associated in any way to each other) but in general as i said, rarely is a group openly supportive towards another and, we don't know anything behind closed doors. they may support each other behind the scenes but, we don't know that. aka, we don't know who's actually "generally" supportive and who's not unless they show it. this notion that all groups are friendly because they all trained and feel the pain is just weird and untrue. don't take this as me attacking you or anything, i just don't like assumptions like that.
@@forg_tful. Well within the 3rd generation of kpop, those groups seem to support each other, wether it be them being asked about each other in interviews or award shows. And you’re right we don’t know how they act off camera, but most of them are in group chats (age or friend based). but I get what you’re saying
@@madisondaniellee some 3rd gen groups have been shady or borderline disrespectful towards bts in interviews or even in their music (and yes i'm talking about that bobby diss track that also mentions rm when i say music) so again i would disagree there.. but there's ones who i think may even genuinely be very friendly with them like twice for example, who have supported them in interviews, praised their success and always hype them up during award shows despite not being in the same company and despite all the shippers. i don't call it until i see it. but yeah, there are a lot of different standpoints. and there are groupchats of course, but that's like 10 people max per chat out of the entire generation. there will always be good people and bad people. we just don't know and shouldn't assume generally when we don't know the half of it. this was too long for what it is, i'm just trying to explain where i'm coming from hah
What is commendable from them is how they aren't afraid to tackle their old songs (and perform them!!), even when they moved past those times and want to explore new grounds, that doesn't mean they aren't proud of their past songs. All the time I've been to concerts (esp western bands), the artist is promoting their newest album, which is understandable, but sometimes some songs are oh so dear to fans' hearts, that it would be cool they didn't "actively refuse"to perform them anymore :( btw I'm not thinking/talking of anyone in particular, but in general, and I've been to at least least 50 concerts and usually the good-oldies stuff doesn't happen.
I can't believe they recommended Dionysus from MMA 2019 as a separate thing, it's the finale of the performance. And I think it's strange that they recommended you to do this without doing the songs first. Disappointing, it's not the same seeing this without knowing what the songs are about or what songs you hear during the solo parts. They robbed you of a much better experience. I mean it's great either way but it's much better if it's done with the songs first and then the performance and never ever Dionysus from MMA 2019 first. And you really seem like a person who wants to do things in a good order. I wish people would stop hurrying reactors to watch MMA 2019, it's so great that it should be done right. ANd again, never ever have people watch Dionysus from MMA 2019 as a separate thing.
Meh I saw this before I heard 3 of the songs previously and it’s still my favorite bts award how performance ever. Even if you don’t know every single thing that’s happening and the intro stuff… seeing and hearing them live first really doesn’t rob anything from this performance bc of how grandiose it is… bts is SO much better live than studio and so seeing it live before I saw the music videos just made everything they did SO much more exciting bc I had no clue what to expect and I was super new to bts when I saw it so that’s not always true for everyone and maybe that’s how you wanted it and how you feel about it…. But that’s your experience and pretty much any reaction I’ve ever seen has watched this not knowing a song or two but bc of that it made them appreciate everything more bc they have NO clue what to expect and so even though we know what to expect now it’s still good… but to not know what’s in store …. Doesn’t necessarily steal anything from them. Like people know black swan and we’re disappointed in 2020 bc it wasn’t the actual song, it’s the performance version so then it kinda ruined the beauty of that for them…so it can go either way. People get excited and that’s just part of the fandom
Also ‘gasp’ he has already watched the dance practice of the dionysus part before watching any of this 😱 seriously, are they actually trying to sabotage the whole experience for him?! That would Totally would have taken the wow factor of the table choreography by at least half i think 🥺
@@bembolbug i dont understand the request to do dance practice MMA2019 before the actual performance, i actually got mad about 😡 ngl. Some people just got too excited
@@blarmy827 Never ever heard anyone being disappointed by the performance version of Black Swan in 2020 MMA. Only heard and seen people being really amazed by the fantastic choreo and the fact that it was a performance version. It was even voted one of the top all time best performances by Army. Maybe you as a new army watch or talk to new army and don't see how much more people are wowed and able to appreciate the performances because they know the songs and BTS well before watching it. And of all the reactors I have watched react to MMA 2019 everyone who waited until they knew the members well and the songs have appreciated it soooo much more and the newer ones thanked us who told them to wait and do it after some of the songs and getting to know BTS. The one who have done it as newbies have been nowhere near as amazed. I have even seen new people react to it in live stream and reading the chat at the same time missing more than half of the performance but people in the chat were still really happy with themselves for recommending it. I guess it's new army. Doing the songs with lyrics and MV's first does not make them know what to expect of the show. Them watching the choreo of the MMA 2019 performance first or the actual performance of Dionysus at the end before the full performance ruins it though because that is meant to be a massive over the top surprise end of the performance after it building up more and more. He does the songs from the Rise of Bangtan episodes before watching the episodes they are in so he is definitely one who likes to do stuff in the best way possible. People need to cool it with recommending MMA 2019. BTS and that performance deserves better.
im pretty sure it was because the chair was nt under him (theres a fancam that shows it) lol it was an accident but they have been taught to always sit like that first(instead of straight on the chair) to avoid those kind of things from happening live
@@meepo21 they did comment about it in the video of BTS being professional if I'm not mistaking. He didn't have time for the chair. Either way they were magnificent!!
I think they are talking about the beginning of Dionysus performance. Jimin was actually sitting on his foot to make him appear taller when all the boys showed up (with the horses and everything, around the 49:17 in this video) The mistake with the chair not being on the spot was during the performance, after the “dance break” that they did (around 58:07 in this video). Jimin himself said it when Jhope was teasing him about it.
Something you should know is Hybe (BTS, TXT, Enhypen) always gives hints about their next concept album in these award shows. BTS even gave us song titles once and we had no idea. This one came right before MOTS7 which was a mix of Shadow and Ego. Thus why the first thing we see are shadows. The imagery inside these shadows all have to do with the BU.
The two Jaguars were used during their World Tour 2019. They appeared for Dionysus performance when they kicked of the concert. 😀 It was great. I was lucky to attend their concert at Wembley on 1st June. Best concert ever 💜
You kinda have to already been into the bangtan universe to understand the intro video! Their universe extends to even live performances sometimes, with clues hidden here and there.
I am sure they all collapsed back stage after that performance. Wow, right? I've seen this about 3 times, but I never get over it. Also, you were the first that realized about the lights coming down representing the various members. I believe it looked like a horseshoe to me, but not sure. Also, each member introduced a different song that they've done. Anyway, I enjoyed watching this again and your commentary.
Weirdly enough, the only time I didn't cry to Mikrokosmos was when I saw them perform it live in concert!!! idk why!! But every other time, it always makes me cry.
No words can express how bts the best of all the best.. i love hobi.. i love 7bts forever.. real armies stays forever like mikrosmos.. borahae i subs now.. nice sir thank you
Each light represents a member. The 7 lights forms Polaris / North Star. They have always reference Polaris and the stars/galaxies in ther performances and songs. This performance was a preparation for their Map Of The Soul 7 album which is their album to culminated their 7yrs together.. Thats why they were performing a medley of their old songs in here to introduce their finale performance - Dionysus. ✨ And yes, you're right, each of the members represented a greek god! ✨
I am obsessed with linguistics, so what you talked about with how we learn language patterns in childhood is my jam. I love learning about these things.
There’s no main vocal who can sing, dance and rap like Jungkook in the world.
I arrived to work @34:59and had to pause, but I had to comment before I forget. The fanboys were two members of TXT (a big hit group, BTS’ little brothers so to speak). The other members had to leave bc they were minors and had to leave due to curfew. I’m a school teacher taking a graduate linguistics course right now. You are spot on about what you said about language acquisition.

Award season starts in December and I learned the hard way to request time off work because I'll gladly get no sleep to watch these amazing stages live. It's insane how they keep topping themselves year after year. Just seeing their growth is incredible starting from those 7 boys who had to perform on the Red Carpet since they weren't part of the Big 3 to an almost 40 minute showstopper. American award shows can't hold up and I'd give anything to see the boys shock the US audience with something on this kind of level just to shove it in those haters faces who'd like to call them overrated. Edit: a lot of this was prerecorded due to them needing to get changed and the next sets up. Jimin's dance was live but the others came out on the stage during their little segments and performed the dance but the tv/streaming audience saw what we watched. The horses were another part that was prerecorded to keep everyone safer in case the animals decided they wanted to get spooky regardless of how well trained they are. The dance practice is on another level since we see more of the solos and Dionysus that was harder to see with the lights and whatnot. Overall this is one of my favorite suggestions to people who don't understand the hype around BTS. Their stage presence is off the charts and I can't wait to see what they'll bring next.
Welcome to the world of the Korean tv music camera-man--their one mission in life is to frustrate the viewers. To the point Big Hit made a whole video just to show them how to film BTS, called, "BTS Intro Performance Trailer." Lol
Fun fact: This performance was recently voted as BTS' best stage performance in an award show, and it was featured in a RUN BTS episode. Jimin mentioned that he felt like throwing up the entire time because the choreo was so hard and fast. But he was so proud of it :)
The fact that the boys forgot about it. They kept mentioning Mic Drop MAMA2017
I want you to be more concentrated on the video while reacting 👍 than dancing
Hi, May I know which RUN BTS episode was it? And what award was it?
I think it should be voted as best stage performance ever from any artist. I've Never seen an award show or any show with such energy.
@@nehasaroj8697 so then don't watch a reaction, just watch the performance on your static home place. Because a huge percentage of people can not watch an amazing show like this just static, they tend to move with the rithm.

Grammys can’t afford BTS’s grand concerts 💀
@@anaisc8733 the american music industry and all the labels are massive cheapskates for the amount of money they have, they just want to hoard it and not spend it on their artists they don't care enough to do better staging for, i think that's the issue. people in the west are not used to this type of performance so nobody really calls it out either. also, the camerawork in the west is horrendous every time bts performs at any award show there so, honestly, i don't think even the stage crew in the west could keep up with it anyway lmao

Yeah,, you were right. BTS members intro on Dionysus stage, they are represent as the god of Olympus. And all stages story has related to Dionysus
1. The Gods/goddess
- V represents Apollo, the god of sun (Apollo also known as god of music n dance)
- Jin represented Ares who rode his war horse
- Jimin represents Artemis, the twin sister of Apollo who dancing under moonlight
- Suga represent Hades, the underworld god (or other theory said, he was Hephaestus, the god of fire), that why he is on fire.
- Jungkook represent Poseidon, the god of sea (that why he is dancing on the water)
- Jhope represent of Zeus, the god of thunder (the laser effects while he is dancing is a symbol of Zeus's thunderbolt)
- RM represent of Dionysus, the staff that he swing at the opening stage it was thyrsus, a staff carried by Dionysus.
4. The panther baloon is a symbol of one of Dionysus sacred animal (beside panther, it was snake, leopard, tiger n bull)
5. The horses is represent the Thracian Horses. Is the strongest horse that raised by thracian horseman to worship Dionysus.
6. The flower girls is represent maenads, a female follower of Dionysus
The dude tucking in jimins chair was late for one part but you cant even tell bc jimin stayed hovering so he didnt fall down
I haven't seen any idol go all out like this in their award show performances.
46:06 yes it is the constellation formation of Corona Borealis - The Northern Crown a.k.a Crown of Ariadne (wife of Dionysus)

Then finally Dionysus (2019), they used N.O (2013) for the dance break.
I just want to see BTS (OT7) live in concert before they have to start enlisting in the military. I still have my tickets from last year.
- Intro: Persona's classroom set was pre recorded but the audio was live (all the effects are added digitally afterwards)
- Mikrokosmos's whole performance were prerecorded to give them time to get change
- Jungkook's water dance was prerecorded, but he still danced to it on the stage without water or proper lighting
- The horses were also pre recorded, I'm pretty sure they weren't on the live stage
everything else was live :) the pre recordings happened the day/2 days before the award show
Heard HBO trying to get the rights to air BTS concerts and shows. That would be interesting. Would anyone even enjoy western award shows if they start watching Korean award shows🤔
No, they would not.
bye bye western awards.. I honestly have never watched any American awards until BTS starting appearing in them. Then I started watching them (only the ones that they will appear) but if BTS ever does a performance like this one on a western award it would completely set up the bar for all the artists.. I wish they could do that. It will be epic!!!
Western award shows are so bland for me now. I only tune in for BTS now.
nope
@@patriciazavman2429 I don't think Western performers could match that bar. So I doubt any Western award shows would ever allow BTS to do something like this. Sadly. Because the bar needs to be raised.

Wow I never knew they had to do that!
@@yjcho6259 I think he might start rapping again in addition to singing. Hope he does he's good at it and has his own style which I quite like.

The hilarious part is Jimin and JHope are the angel and sunshine of the group. But when asked, most members voted that Jimin and JHope are the scariest when angry.
OMG! I will never get tired of watching this performance. The best of bests.

The seven lights, one for each member, is also a constellation, and the symbol of the crown of Ariadne, when she married Dyonisos
V is Appolo, God of the sun (music No more dream)
Jin is Ares, God of War (music: Danger)
Jimin is Artemis, Goddess of the moon (and nature and hunting), the twin sister of Apollo. (music: I need you)
Suga is Hephaistos, God of fire (and the music of course, is Fire)
Jungkook is Poseidon, God of Ocean (music Save me)
JHope is Zeus, God of Thunder (the laser) (music: Fake Love)
And Rm is Dyonisos himself, God of wine (you can see the vine wrapped around his scepter)
The horse segment was pre-recorded...without the Live audience. That way it was, foremost, SAFE for the cast AND horses...but also to allow for unforeseen events. When it panned away before they start singing is when BTS came in live.

That's why Jhope is our SUNSHINE, he has this aura that makes you smile eventually.. Ughh we love him so much! 🥺🥰
BTS don’t just bring the scene, they rip it up chew it spit it out and take it to a whole new level, they compete with themselves and better themselves every time. What is their limit?
This is one of the most iconic performances. The fact that it is an award show performance but gives off concert vibes from the audience as well
The second song (classroom setting) was the final song on their first tour (2014).
I cry every time I hear Microkosmos, Epiphany and Magic Shop. Happy tears.💜
The fun thing in jungkooks performance in the water, the water sounds are in the music. So he lined up perfectly to the sounds.
Whenever RM talks, you feel like first time hearing Darth Vader's voice but with Mufasa's face (Lion King)...
what you said about each of the members representing a different greek god!! Yes!! there are a lot of theories about it but from what I remember the god they represented went like this:
Taehyung is Apollo the god of the sun, healing, music, etc. his solo stage makes reference to the "circus of the sun" Cirque de Soleil and he has a sun crown in a VCR at some point. he also has matching twin earings with jimin which ill explain later
Jin is Aphrodite the goddess of love, fertility, his solo stage makes reference to the trojan horse and the trojan war, which was started as a dispute between Aphrodite and another god. he also wears pearls in the GDA VCR which are commonly associated with Aphrodite.
Yoongi is Hephaestus the god of fire and blacksmiths, his solo makes obvious reference to fire of course
Jungkook is Poseidon the god of the sea and horses. his solo clearly references water
Jhope is Zeus the god of thunder and the skies. his solo has lots of moving lasers and loud bass which kinda give the feeling of thunder and lightning
lastly,
namjoon is dionysus the god of wine, religious ecstasy, performance, and festivity. He obviously holds dionysus's thyrsus, a staff which is his symbol as well as a symbol for prosperity, hedonism, and enjoyment. namjoon also holds the staff as they perform the song.
Yes the lights form Dyonisus constalation .
Yeah i feel that too, RM or namjoon has that charisma even in his voice
Pfft grammy’s stage cant even handle the horses lol. BTS performance is too good for grammy.

Fun fact: BTS (and other Kpop idols too) actually sometimes do dance practices with hoodies, jackets and thicker materials on to kind of train their bodies to become more used to the heat on the stages.
I’ve wondered why they wore heavy clothes, like sweats, for practices.

YES RM's speachs got me tearing 😭
I'm soo excited for you to react to the dance breaks in dionysus!! This is a legendary performance that ties in various stories of greek gods, that also relates to the lights that come down one by one for each of the members.
Also, if you weren't aware, each member represents the chronological journey of their discography which I found really cool
This is why the Grammy's can't handle BTS. They shortened their 3 minute song so that they hopefully wouldn't upstage the other performers. Whatever.
BTS & BigHit know how to put on a performance!

Unbelievably, Dionysus was produced by member Jhope.
Oh yeah this performance is legend

Nobody can dance like jimin💙 his solo is my favourite.
You can tell that with each performance they improve, because they want to impress themselves and see progress. They want us to see a better version of themselves each time and it’s so refreshing to see artists that are motivated to keep improving. It’s so incredibly motivating honestly. Always in for a surprise. 👏🏽💜

Also ‘gasp’ he has already watched the dance practice of the dionysus part before watching any of this 😱
seriously, are they actually trying to sabotage the whole experience for him?!
That would Totally would have taken the wow factor of the table choreography by at least half i think 🥺

Another fun fact: Jimin was sitting on his foot to make himself sit taller.
im pretty sure it was because the chair was nt under him (theres a fancam that shows it) lol it was an accident but they have been taught to always sit like that first(instead of straight on the chair) to avoid those kind of things from happening live
🙄It was a mistake.. Because the chair wasn't there on time
I don't think it's a mistake cause every perf they do that, pretty sure it's intentional. Jimin would fall if he was expecting a chair.
I will NEVER get over any Dionysus stage. So badass
I thoroughly enjoy watching your show when you cover BTS! Thank you!

MMA 2019 perf is the best so far. Dionysus is hard core and intense. no group could top that
They are amazing aren’t they?? I adore BTS. I have watched this so many times with other reactors and never get tired of it.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
The dance practice for this is so good. You can see every move.
And you mention the dance practice 👏👍
hopefully I don’t comment a lot throughout this whole thing ☠️ but I’m excited. This really is their best performance.
Amazing reaction and amazing award show MMA
I am sure they all collapsed back stage after that performance. Wow, right? I've seen this about 3 times, but I never get over it. Also, you were the first that realized about the lights coming down representing the various members. I believe it looked like a horseshoe to me, but not sure. Also, each member introduced a different song that they've done. Anyway, I enjoyed watching this again and your commentary.
Awww..
J-Hope our SUNSHINE 🌞💜💜💜
I was watching when you got cut off by TH-cam. So glad you are doing the whole thing now.
Weirdly enough, the only time I didn't cry to Mikrokosmos was when I saw them perform it live in concert!!! idk why!! But every other time, it always makes me cry.
No words can express how bts the best of all the best.. i love hobi.. i love 7bts forever.. real armies stays forever like mikrosmos.. borahae i subs now.. nice sir thank you
Jungkook and Jimin harmonize so beautifully! America’s award shows are pathetic in comparison to Asia’s…S. Korea specifically!
And yes, you're right, each of the members represented a greek god! ✨
I am obsessed with linguistics, so what you talked about with how we learn language patterns in childhood is my jam. I love learning about these things.
BTS turned an award show into one of their concerts. Flex.
I’m with you, it hits hard when RM is speaking 💜
As a Karmy, Bighit asked him to become a main vocalist because only Jungkook can be a main vocalist of the group and that’s what Bighit said. But JK was good at everything so Bighit also agreed him to rap too. As time goes by, JK wanted to focus more on vocal so he doesn’t rap a lot these days. He still loves to sing, rap and dance. He’s our Korean’s national main vocal.
Best performance ever !!! 💜💜💜
I love seeing you jam out to their songs. I always get so happy that you found them and you clearly love them as much as I do.
they just did that for an award show 🤯
The group fanning over BTS at 19:03 is actually TXT who is also a Bighit group. The line BTS sings right before that is "text me". 🤣😂
This is awesome!!!!!
This performance is Awesome Ledgendary .so glad you have it your reaction and thoughts . THANK You

You are right, each one of them represents a Greek god. The western award shows should be very nervous!💜
I LOVE THIS PERFORMANCE SO MUCHH
You want a couple of cryers? Bulletproof:Eternal and 2! 3! You absolutely need subtitles.
