I'm 66, an old rocker/metal guy, started in the late 60's with bands like Sabbath, Cactus (Check em out if you have never heard of them) but always loved the heavier side of music. Fast forward to today (3-24-21) these guys ........... are INSANE!!!!!!!!!!! If you are listening and don't understand, DON'T criticize, learn .....
I went to Uni with Nolly and he and Pete in Red Seas Fire would sit in the practice room just going over Sikth riffs, over and over, was really cool to chill and work on them
i remember the first time my friend showed me this my brain didnt even know how to interpret the crazy riffs i was hearing, then periphery came around and kind of put it in a nice pretty package for me to digest. then i finally understood sikth.
I believe it's sextuplets. i don't know if that's the word for it. I believe it's 12 notes. The leading foot hits six times per, and lands on the snare. Does that help?
If you were a real musician you would realize how fucking amazing these guys are. Everything sounds so clean and pure..Every riff is intricate and simply beautiful. There is so much more to this kind of metal than any other. They are truly an amazing band. And they're also sick as fuck live...amazing shows and amazing sound..When it comes down to it these guys just don't fuck around.
There still hasn't really been a band like them. I don't listen to metal BUT I still come back to SikTh (and Meshuggah). I think that's a testament to how unique they are.
Those are, in fact, quintuplets. This may sound like silly proof, but in my hobby of charting Guitar Hero songs (I have a video of this one in my channel) I tried to chart this song and came to realize these were quintuplets, a very odd find in metal these days.
@brucegalliver Reuniting at some point in the future, I'd imagine with all their other projects it could be 3 years away or so. You shouldn't get people too excited at potentially nothing :/
i dont think its that i think its the fact that this sound like a bunch of monosyllabic garble and a lot of people find it lacking juss my opinion though
Genres are used to sum up entire songs in one or two words..I wouldn't expect to win an argument about music not fitting into words. As for who started it, who gives a fuck. Tunes is tunes.
Should of been way bigger. Similar to Snapcase and Number Twelve Looks Like You. BTBAM too. Gen pop has a hard time seeing the brilliance past the vocals they don't get.
I used to listen to them when I was younger.... now that I'm older and wiser I find vocals really disguisting and that really disturbs the overall sound picture which is phenomenal

So hard they had to quit making music for the vocalists voice boxes. Never heard of 🌵 will check them
You sound so cool 🎉
check out periphery
i love that i can hear the influence they had on periphery while hearing what feels like every time i die riffs.

Kind of wild how they got that guitar lead to fit with the clean vocals in the chorus. I have no idea how their guitarist even thought to play that.
THE ONLY PROBLEM sikth had was they were soooo in advance for their time...imagine pushing this music today???
my dream is that some time in my life I'll hear another metal band as good as SikTh
Great great song from a amazing band.
Omg! I can't believe this song had 13 yearssss 😂
Fr! It’s nice to come back to every once in a while. 🤘🏻

Bland Street Bloom
Agreed
Amazing band metal brutality
Oh and I love the video so much! Fuck the system!
I can't even hear the bass drum, but the guitar seems to be doing 5 strums per beat, which is pretty weird.
This is still my favourite song of all time, hands down
he's playing notes.

psyOpus are weird ;D
for sure, some of the riffs in this are pretty similar to some Psyopus riffs, and this could be a little similar to Duct Tape Smile maybe
КАК?
