Man, y’all, I am sure glad this is our coach.
I appreciate Coach Pope. I wouldn’t say I root for UK but I appreciate the history. I’ve run into BBN fans leaving Walton a few times, they were humble in victory and courteous in defeat, it’s that side of the BlueGrass State that I like to think of as being true Kentucky fans.
As a UK fan..basketball has always been a source of pride for the entire state of Kentucky because football and baseball hasn't been good for the past 70 years. And most of the other sports programs at UK haven't been great over the years either. UK has won a total of 14 national championships with 8 being in basketball, 4 in co-ed shooting and one each in women's volleyball and cross country. UK's cheerleading squads however has won an unprecedented 24 NCAA national titles.

Defense looked better… but let’s see how effective our team defense is against Tennessee on Tuesday. THAT is going to really show how much progress our defense is making!
Of course you played for Rick Pitino who “impacted your life” greatly. How about requesting Rick Pitino to give you assistance in HOW to full court press and WHEN to full court press? He was and is the BEST at the full court press and it would be a HUGE weapon in your arsenal!
Here is what Rick says about his Full Court Press:
"What the press has done for me, for 40 years, has worn people out, legs-wise, where they don't shoot the ball as well," Pitino explained afterward. "It's always been the gift that my teams have had. If we can wear out their legs, they won't shoot as well. But they were coming at us, and they were getting too many easy shots. So I felt the full-court press would take a little starch out of their shots, take a little time in the backcourt [and] make us ultra-aggressive.”
Cats looked good today. Especially on the defensive end, which is huge. Turnovers are a little better. Besides defense, finishing at the rim and taking better care of basketball ball need to be the 3 things they zero in on the rest of the season. Will all that said consistency will be key. This team has all the potential, especially when healthy.
It was ugly at first, but we got in our rhythm. Hope to see more of that energy next week.

Now why can't they play with heart like this in every game I've played sports and I know what a defensive effort is and every player that got on the floor put forth a defensive 💯 effort with heart
Mark pope had 2 apply some pressure 2 these boy's and finally get heated playing BB has 2 side's offense & defense on the defensive side is 95% effort 5% communication and tonight it shows these boy's can be much better than what they put out lately
Even with this win, there are still serious issues. Mainly the turnovers. We had nine TO's and SEVEN of them were just from LAZY LAZY LAZY plays. Three lazy one handed passes into the 13th row of seats or to no one, but even WORSE, no look one handed attempts at catching a pass that they didn't catch and were taken away or went out of bounds. In a 23 point win, it's a nuisance. Against a ranked team, it's a loss. And how many shots did we miss from inside five feet in the first half? Some of them uncontested.
SOME turnovers show aggressive playing style. agreed, it wasnt that, if they were being super aggressive it would be more acceptable. but 9 isnt that bad.
I agree with you. South Carolina played horrendous! I did see moments of UK playing (together) and playing decent basketball. But if this were a good team we were playing today, the outcome would’ve been a little different. Not saying they woulda took a loss…but it wouldn’t have been a blowout. This is as good as this team can be. Im happy with this season and I’m excited about the future in Coach Popes hands! We’ll be fine!

lol try started sluggish and they let South Carolina get some offensive rebounds but the defense after those rebounds and the 50/50 balls the pressure they put in is the best they have all season. This comment is ridiculous. The last 3 minutes of the game they acted line they didn’t care and I didn’t like it either. Are you one of those fans that think Pope is doing a bad job because of the last 5 games? If you are I hope someone teaches you the game

Difference was pressure up top. No easy passes, making the other team frantic with good on ball pressure. Great job rotating as well on defense.

During the injuries and being short handed. It has seemed that Amari had really stepped up and really had raised his own ceiling. Just keep playing defense and rebounding the ball and things will come together!!!
Good win but still need to get healthy and clicking like we were. Have to start trending up NOW

It seems the big guys when attempting under the basket shots don't use the square nearly enough and subsequently too many easy points roll right off the rim. Shoot the ball at the square and the ball goes in the hoop more times than not.
defensive pressure was great IMO. but. grabbing a defensive rebound and losing it to the scrappiness and hustle of SC, it led to 8-10 points in the first half. at least 4 rebounds were taken from us which led to points or foul shots. that being said. up, up and OWEH from here guys.....
