Thanks very helpful, my 180 reef tank is built in wall as my head board to my bed ! So wife isn't really down with the camera thing now! I guess she don't want me peeping in on the master room while I'm away and the pool boy is here! O well I tried
That is sad. I had no idea. If you do use TPlink as your router, there should be a website on the underside of the router. If you use another router, then you will also need to find out what the website is for that router.
FYI: you covered up your local IP "192.168.0.*** this is just an internal IP you could give this to anyone and it means nothing unless you are on the same network. However, you gave out your MAC address of your router which can be found VIA web...
Can you tell I have no idea what I'm doing? Thanks for letting me know. I don't use this router anymore so does that mean that all is well? Or should I be taking this video down anyways?
I know this is super old and I may not get an answer, but I need to know if anyone has done this but with a secure user and password. I already had all this setup, but I don't want to leave the webcam open. How do you write the user and password into the URL?
Hey Manny, and I'm sorry, but I have no idea! I was just thinking there has to be some third party that could host it and act as the middle man to not give people access. But I'm sorry, I just don't know. Happy Reefing!
Awesome video. ++++1 Keep up the Great work! An easy step by step, that anyone can follow. I am not very networking smart, but now i can view the Reef from anywhere with an internet connection! & stop bugging the wife to asking her how the fish are while i am away for business. I'll be posting this to the local reef clubs &/or Facbook!
For iphone go to settings select your Home Wifi click the (I) in blue by it you will see a ip address etc and probaly be on DHCP copy this information down on paper Then select static Re write all the information you wrote down Then just click back on the wifi in top left corner .(You now have a static home IP )

I hear that! Glad it could help! I've actually used my own video to help myself remember how to do it!
just give your phone a static ip address
Ah, you obviously know something about this topic, when obviously I have no clue. Is that easy to do?
For iphone go to settings select your Home Wifi click the (I) in blue by it
you will see a ip address etc and probaly be on DHCP
copy this information down on paper
Then select static
Re write all the information you wrote down
Then just click back on the wifi in top left corner .(You now have a static home IP )
