    Deep hc works much better with sensitivity turned down a little.
    It would have got all them targets no problem. 99 is far to high for the deep program.
    Great video and I’m surprised that the manticore struggled with them targets.

    I have a D2 and a Manticore and Nox 800 and 900.
    In terms of depth and stability the Nox 800 is hard to beat, (set up correctly). I found the Manticore tricky and not good on bumpy ploughed mineralised soil. I have settings for the Nox 800 that are deep and stable on bumpy iron rich ploughed.
    I can actually reject the ground mineralisation but still hear the iron on my Special Nox settings. I cannot see a way of doing that on the Manticore yet but I doubt it is possible. It would need horizontal notching in the ferrous limits zones on the Manticore.
    I found the D2 was less deep on pasture than the 800 too.
    I have a 900 and that works well on pasture but have yet to try it on bumpy ploughed but my settings should transfer ok.
    The 900 goes deep on pasture too.
    Most machines struggle on iron rich soil where previous historic occupation occurred. The problem with benign soil is that the finds are usually few and far between but the machines go deeper.

      Great info oldplucker, I’ve had some deep one way signals with the nox 800 that I’ve yet to beat with any other machine, the manticore has suprised me on coin sized targets and the D2 can be a deep machine which needs setting up perfectly to get there, full tones definitely not the way for outright depth. The manticore has a lot more to reveal yet I think as people are still getting their heads around it, including me.
      And the nox I found digging ferrous targets produced good results on pasture, the nox is still a very good machine and with a 15” coil very deep, thanks for the comment👍

    • @oldplucker1
      @oldplucker1 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@jkiser77 Depends on what type of mineralisation. I bury a good target at a depth I think might be on the edge of detection, then step through the modes including Park,Beach and Field to settle on which one works the best then use that. Also the Recovery speed needs to be just right. So normally 4,5 or 6 if ferrous mineralisation then the higher of those usually works. If conductive mineralisation then a beach mode might be good.
      Also if EMI do manual noise cancelling by choosing a quiet channel not auto. You can use the threshold to hear deep targets murmuring. Start with the target at 5” and re bury it 1” deeper each time and adjust the settings. I like a high tone to make targets stand out. Experiment with 50 tones too. Hope that helps!

      Hi tomwheelee7816, I probably should try 2.0 but I’ve heard the only change over 1.10 is an improved gold mode but then they have a habit of tweaking the other programs so I probably will soon enough. When I went from 0.71 to 1.10 it was like a completely different machine and maybe that’s why a lot of people have rolled back to 0.71 but I do think 1.10/2.0 are the best so stick with it.
      I don’t think 2.0 would of performed any different on this test tbh? Happy hunting and good luck for 2024😊👍

    doing a depth test , in general mode? i mean the average programs are not tuned the same machine vs machine . what you need to do is adjust both machines to the absolute deepest it can go , and THEN you will find out what machine is the deepest . and you cant aim for stability if your going as deep as possible . the machine should be wide open and taking in everything . both great machines no matter what imo. personally i have used XP products all the way , and i dougth it will ever change :)

      Thanks levity2893, with the deus 2 you can go down to 0/0.5 reactively and use the machine where I find anything below four on the manticore tends to scramble the tones like the nox, maybe on the beach you could run it flat out.
      I also tried every other ground mode and depth audio which did little to improve things, I went back the next day and managed to to hit the viccy penny a lot better than in the video so unless we are in lab conditions it’s all just a bit of fun really.

I just found my first Pre- Colonial coin last week using it actually here in the North East. I had the option of buying the Manticore or the D2 and to this day I have no regrets. Hi qj8933, you choose wisely. Love the D2
      In the uk we have lots of low conductive targets and have found sensitive to be the hardest hitting on the small hammered coins for me. But I definitely need to explore deep hc more running 40khz, could be interesting..

    • @qj8933
      @qj8933 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That makes a lot more sense using the max 40khz due to your low conductor targets. In Connecticut most of the coins we are looking for are above a 78-95 ID range, some 5 cent pieces can register at 64 hence the deep hc which uses the lower frequency. I tend to use the higher frequency programs when looking for gold jewelry at the beach as its very reactive I will have to check out the Tekkna program, I just starting using the Bird Dog program for unmasking in iron but havent really put it to the test yet.
