thank you for this interesting local history, with more details than i've heard previously as far as the indian wars here preceding sheridan's beginning, we can't overlook the sand creek massacre (with its extensive mutilations) of peaceful indians under both a u.s. flag and a white flag word got out quickly of this holocaust, and naturally enraged native inhabitants we'd have had a far different history without this obscene criminal betrayal the echoes of this horrific incident continue powerfully to this day
