Surprised that he got Leona done fairly early, considering she's the other charge character of the game and is just as technically demanding. Other than that, ooooh this is going to be fun.
I managed to complete trials 8,9 and 10 for Ash but it took me 2.5 hours for each one plus I was playing on a pad (Xbox 360 controller) and although they were REALLY HARD I managed to complete them and Ash bnbs are tough but he's a really cool character and really fun to play he was on my main team since day 1 which was (Reg.Kyo/Ash/Benimaru).
The good thing about Ash’s combos is that they’re pretty easy to remember as they usually loop multiple sequences. The only thing you have to worry about now is your dexterity to execute the combos.
This is the first time I’ve seen Justin give up (for now) on a fighting game trial. Looking at that monster though I don’t blame him even 1%. I know he’ll get it really soon.
I am in awe how easy it's for veterans like Wong can pick up the beast and get stuck but execute better each time. Us mortals gotta literally set monthly schedules. You're an inspiration if you mastered Ash.
That combo is where I gave up. I could get it all the way up to the first flash kick after that raging demon activation, but that was it for me. Couldn't even complete one rep of that last part.
Quick question: how you cancel a charge move into another charge move in another durection. For example: a charge back than forward and cancel this move into a charge down then up?

I would love that too, but for some reason these kind of videos get notably less views compared to the rest of the content, there are many top players who have attempted it aswell and it always happens. The people who actually wanna learn are a really small minority, i love that kind of video personally but unfortunately it's not very "youtube revenue friendly".
2002 is hard in it's own way, the combos are less complex and that includes angel, but the thing is that it is much harder to do simple stuff that would be easier to do in XIII, hinako combos honestly are pretty standard if you compare them to XIII trials, but the thing is that there are no trials in 2002UM so it's hard to compare, you can go crazy with 02UM combos but you can also do that in XIII with combos that are even harder than the trials ones.
This is actually not as hard as you think lol I learned the back HK trick on Saiki's one so i already knew Also what it doesn't tell you is that when you play as Ash and you go into exceed mode (glow yellow) it gives you the same properties as the glow green special where you don't have to really charge moves to do them

Once the 4 button special is on, you gotta hold buttons like you're charging but execute flawlessly without charging. They really crammed everything into the beast. He's mad cool tho🎉

Very late but I just saw your comment. Ash is a primarily charge character in the game, and charge characters require you to hold the stick in a certain direction for say a few seconds then in the opposite direction afterwards and press a button to execute their special move (Guile's Sonic Boom needs to hold back for a moment then forward and punch, his Flash Kick needs to hold down then up and kick). Because these attacks can be used at a moment's notice but cannot be done on reaction they are usually reserved for characters who are defensive and turtle-y, but who still enjoy fighting at midscreen distance. Their combos are usually short but require weird execution. Okay, so let's talk Ash. As you can imagine Ash is a charge character, which makes him a defensive fighter with unorthodox combo execution in a game that already has a high execution bar in KoF. The worst part however is his install (the moment he turns green): at that moment he can execute any special without charging and can loop them into other moves, but for the most part only if he is grounded. When Justing was attempting was cancel the upside-down kick motion into another move he needed to perform it fast enough that Ash does the move before he still left the ground while preparing to perform another upside down kick in less than a second. He needs to do that THREE TIMES. For ONE repetition. It is absurd and stupid and why only SNK attempted this stupid combo mechanic with Ash.

@@kazy8029 15 is a good starting point: older KOF titles infamously had a lot of nonstandard special move execution (Geese's infamous pretzel motion is just the most famous example) but for 15 they are all standardized to quarter circle, half circle and shoryuken (EWGF) motions. Pad should do you just fine, but if you get the game on PC I reccomend you try using keyboard at least once!

It's lenient compare to previous kof. Only the trial looks so intimidating by putting exaggerating hard link and cancel. Nevertheless kof xiii has the lenient execution frame . You don't need to be that fast just need getting used to.
