Thank you for your videos. We took our trailer to Mullins Company in Kingsport,TN on your recommendation. They did an excellent job. Based on your experience, we did put the furring strips in prior to having the installation done. Looks great and looking forward to finishing out our trailer.
I feel your pain with the uh oh hole.. haha I'm on my my third cargo conversion and I was actually screwing rhe furring strips on when the impact slipped off the screw... fortunately it didn't go all the way through the aluminum skin you guys took it way better than I did lol but I'm excited to see how your trailer turns out. I'll be following along
Id definitely plug those holes, can definitely leach condensation in those defeats purposes of having the screws covered and having spray foam, i mean the holes you intentionally poked to find ur studs
Looking good. Why didn’t the spray foam company use the draw knives and level that stuff out for you. They usually will shave it down level with the studs. Don’t know why more people don’t go with the spray foam definitely the way to go. I’m excited for you and myself. Waiting to take delivery of my new Intech aluminum trailer.
The aluminum on the roof of these trailers is kinda flimsy when having to stand or crawl around on top of it when installing solar panels, it doesn’t look like you felt it was necessary to reinforce the ceiling prior to installing the furring strips
I'm wondering if the furring strips were wrapped in plastic sheeting and installed before the foam spray was applied then all one would have to do is cut the plastic off the furring and avoid all the sanding and leveling.. W.E.C. supergenius
wow... I've never seen anyone do that kind of a job without wearing a bunny suit. I have made a note to do the strips first if I go the spray foam way. I am assuming its a shower/toilet combination? No tanks. Compost toilet in your future? Thanks for the very informative video.
What are the dimensions of the furring strips? Cool videos but no details of any kind. I watch on my tv so can’t see any notes below (had to go to computer to leave question) size of trailer, maybe price, some dimensions of things would be great!
So if you were to do it again you would put the furring strips on before the spray insulation. Would you bother putting a peice of pink foamular insulation between the rib and the strip to avoid potential thermal bringing? Or just screw the strips directly to the ribs?
Eh. Just screw em in. Those tiny fractions of benefit aren't worth it. I definitely overthought it and it sounds like you are too. It would have been fine imo
Yes - I thought that about fir strips 1st and then just clean off the bump outs from the over spray.
Cheers
That's a "awl". Remember the sound you made when you poked a hole in your trailer skin? That's how you remember the name of the tool.

That’s great! I’m glad at least one person used this company!
I like the idea of using the metal studs. Don't think I've seen many builds with them.

New & will follow… it’s one of my future projects… 🤙🏼😁👍🏼

I loved the part where Corey took a leafblower shower
It was a glorious shower!
Awl is the tool, The oops hole is no big deal. I did the same with mine so we all get 1 fuck up and that was it. LOL
Hahaha oh there are bound to be more holes
A oscillating tool would work good for trimming foam

I'm not sure. Maybe because I wanted the studs covered?
Spray foam off gasses. If you get into a crash, it can't be repaired and if you want to recycle it, you can't.
You guys are too funny. We've all made crazy mistakes so don't let it get to you as I'm sure there will be more.
Its part of it!
Think about putting a bracket for your outside gas grill since you already have a hole in the wall.

Nice table
Trailer is looking good. I should have sprayed foam in mine. Keep up the good work.
Preciate it!

That could maybe work. Although if the wood is just covered it can be scrapped off. Its all pretty sticky so I bet the plastic would just tear.
Wile E. Coyote lol
Great work
This video convinced me not to do spray foam. Not the spray foam application, but rather the prep you have to do after when continuing the build.

Yep. Doing a urine diverting toilet. No poopin in the trailer! We will mount tanks underneath if there's room.

3/4 in plywood. Just the height of the trailer. Not really much else to say!
what are the blue extension poles?

@@diycargotrailer okay thanks
Where do you get the metal studs?
Put them strips in 1st.
Oh my gosh agreed!
Episodes 3 and 4 are reversed.
