I can store the propane tank/bottle outside yet store the generator in my home when it's not in use as I will never put any gas in the engine. It is so light, and on echo mode, which I expect is how it will be used most of the time, it is pretty darned quiet (certainly compared to all the generators I hear in my neighborhood after each power outage).Many of the previous reviews had me concerned that it would be difficult to start on propane, but I have to say, I had absolutely no problem at all. I primed it first using the choke...3 pulls, heard the engine want to start, flipped it to propane, and one more pull and she started. I ran it for 2 hours the first time and plugged it in my fridge. And when I was done, I put the propane tank away and carried the generator to my basement for next time.I could not be happier.

@@SilverCymbal ABSOLUTELY. Rebecca I'm sold as well. I called today and spoke with a kind lady named Juliet. She answered ALLLLL my questions. I'm using it as an APU for my semi truck so I run my fridge, tv, coffee maker, portable ac and heater while at the truck stops. No noisy engine from a generator or needing gasoline. Plus she told me it can be used while it's charging.
I'm currently developing a model that is a bit lighter but uses 4 inch rubber wrapped wheels for easier off road towing. My design uses all the same types of plugs offer here as well as some that this does not. We pack our Lipo4 batteries and other high quality components such as the Morningstar solar charge controller are neatly organized in a similar style large weatherproof case. Our unit will be manufactured by a Veteran owned business right here the the USA. Plus as a side bonus, it will cost considerably less then this model shooting for around $3200.

I think you will find the laser cut steel inside that puts it all together is pretty tough to duplicate. I don't make a cent if you buy one of these or don't but sadly a lot of the diy version lack the rigidity for travel. If its for stationary use, have at it, but Velcro and bungees don't hold up well bouncing around in a truck
You left out $800-$1000 for a quality 4000w/8000w inverter. I'm sure you could get a cheaper one on Amazon but it could burn your house down
Pretty much about what I have in mine and think turned out great. Things I would do differently but maybe that will be in the next one.
One note I found that solar charge controller they are using its around 25 or 30 bucks.
If you were selling your model, you would charge $6500

Between this and equivalent solar which do you think is better? I love the fact you can move this unit. Charge off solar or vehicle battery. Price comparison to solar I guess would depend on your solar set up.
Nice to see a real review on a great product. I had looked at the Milwaukee unit but at over $2K did not seem like a very good deal at all. This, on the other hand, is NOT a toy! I can see it working in so many places, even in the RV where noise is an issue.
Made something very similar for myself. I went for wood instead of metal framing inside. Only thing different was just rain louvers for rain protection. It wont do hose splashing it, and the alternator charging, and 3kw inverter not the 8kw peak. If you want to do it yourself, it will cost around 1.5k.

i have the NITECORE NPS600 because in my building theres always electrical issues, 1 in the fridge connected to my samsung fridge samsung microwave. the other in my office powering up my samsung tv alienware laptop nitecore batteries and other small electronics. also very rugged not as gigantic like this 1 but i still love this review u made.
$5000? Definitely a worthwhile investment that will pay back ten fold! This thing will be just brilliant in extended power down situations, if you’re going outdoors for an extended period of time, small outdoor events, off-grid and then some. Considering it has an 8000 watt capacity, that’s just outstanding! You can shop around for other multiple smaller units but this thing looks like an absolute beast and seems to be able to take a beating in harsh conditions.

With something like this charging with that kind of current from the alternator, I would recommend upgrading it with a larger one or have a second one installed so it can still charge the battery/batteries at the correct rate and power the vehicle
Nanuk cases are the shiznit. They are more known for pistol cases here but I have a 910 for my DJI Mavic Mini.

$5k seems like a whole lot of money when you look at the components piece by piece. You could make one for 1/2 the cost. The battery in that unit is 3600 watt hours and if that is at 12 volts that equals 300 Amp Hour Lithium battery that currently will set you back about $1000, but it will include a BMS (battery management system).
Will Prowse here on YT has some excellent videos on a DIY version.
I guess if your time is free and your build quality is the equivalent.
That is one very nice power station! The 5k price tag is a tough pill to swallow though. Hopefully the more these become the standard, the price will come down a little bit.

@@07starman You are not the intended customers as this is more geared to things like search and rescue as you often need power but generators are simply too loud both for audio and for electronics. They would also be good for film crews to remove the needs of those multi million dollar truck mounted generators and thousands of feet of power cords to keep the sound away from the mics.
Search and Rescue often involves so many different radio setups that they need a central point that can listen and relay but a generator pumps out so much EM noise that it can put static over those radios making it harder to hear anything on the sensitive equipment. You also have cases like collapsed buildings when you need power to run tools but the sound of the generators can make it impossible to hear anyone trapped inside.

Nice power station. If I had the money and hadn't piecemealed a similar system in basic specs without the rugged features then I 'd go for something like this over other lipo4 power station units due to it's portability with rugged protection. Sure, something could be made DYI which might roughly mirror what this power station could do...the issue on my end would be cramming my system into a case, field testing it and insuring that it could withstand similar elements which would take time and personal labor. Like it.

$ 5340 + 12% tax ($650) makes it a $ 6000 unit. 10 year life cycle = $ 600/year on cost.
My Honda GenSet is paid, get used very often and does not burn $ 600/year on gas.
On larger jobs I bill the client for the gas or he has some at hand.
If that works for you thats great but keep in mind many areas have noise restrictions or can't deal with exhaust from equipment. A lot of car detailers could use this in mobile vans and love it becuase it charges between jobs and has enough juice to run all the gear without the endless drone of a gas generator. As I very honestly said in the video, for some this is absolutely ideal and for others it's not a good fit.

Awesome review as always. Looks like a pretty cool build, especially if you need something rugged. But... for me, it just reaffirms the need to learn how to DIY these things. You can clone this build for at most 50% of the cost.
I'm aware it's not for everyone and this is already a niche product BUT, to anyone who wants one of these - learn to DIY! Study up, read everything, watch Will Prowse, save some dollars! I built one with the same idea (this is just a weatherproof toolbox/pelican case at its core) and it works great. Spent a total of $1200 (although I only need my max surge to be 2000W).
Very cool, I always love anything DIY and then you feel good that you did it yourself. I just did my own well if you saw that one and most people would pay someone else. But there are definitely times and some that just feel they can't do it so at least you have some choices. I am impressed that these guys took this to the level they did, what angers me though is MIlwaukee selling a unit thats for job sites that is not weather sealed at all! Thats crazy

@@rudybmore6809 I think the Titan is more of a permanent choice but I would buy the Ecoflow Delta pro over a titan any day now. They seem to be just another one of those companies that were doing well and kind of just went away now. If you want features and power Ecoflow blew everyone away this year th-cam.com/video/bfWzPPDh2Yg/w-d-xo.html but they dont offer a rugged solution.

You're so right and if you find that solar charge controller they used its 30 dollar one so I can imagine they are still making pretty good profit on these. My DIY one I have around 3k invested but this also includes misc stuff I ended up not using. But it is in a yellow case like theirs haha. I want to build another but just don't have the time.

Wow! really impressive. I operate a mobile coffee van in Sydney Australia and would like to move away from my petrol generator. We use roughly 10kwh in a 5 1/2 hour period. The appliances include a 3200w coffee machine and a 1250w oven which are both very power hungry. Our Hyundai iload is idling the whole time so maybe we can top up on the go.
Would the generator you feature handle this type of power requirements?

True, those babies are 15 years old and definitely looking it. I tried a cheap kit last year and it didn't really work, I will have to give it another try. The ceramic coating I put on earlier this summer still looks great, haven't washed it even once since.

Wow $5,000 I will stock my propane tanks to run tri generator on propane, heat, hot water, cook, run engine and vehicle in a pinch. I can stock even more propane locked in propane price for years for this price!!! Fuels will usually go higher! No treating propane it never goes bad! Feb 2022 propane $2.00 a gallon.

When I first starting looking at power inverters, $5k would have made my jaw drop. But considering a decent 3kw can sell between $2-3k and all the other add one and accessories, this is a good deal.
I appreciate the comparison to the Milwaukee inverters. The more I see them, the less impressed I am. I feel like they made the product very niche and with a little more work could have had a much more diverse set of uses.

3600 Watt/Hours is the stated capacity. 4000 watts continuously at 86% efficiency is less than an hour. To be more precise, 46 minutes and 26.4 seconds if my math is right.

Midland made an ip67 rated 1000w power station built into a pelican style case. .... the PPG1000. They clearanced them out around christmas for $500. I purchased 2 of them.
I remember that one, that was very nice. They should have kept going with it, they may have been a little ahead of their time with that one. What a deal you got too!

Great review! As an RV owner I always ask why these never come equipped with a 30A receptacle to easily hookup a shore power cable to run the RV air conditioner. A 4000W unit should be able to juice 30A at 120VAC.

I'm pretty sure the initial draw would make this thing shit itself. On paper it should work yeah but in reality that's quite a surge for a very sensitive little thing.
Look up the Titan Which was pretty much king of the hill for a few years with a 30A receptacle. Just recently though, Ecoflow Delta pro came out with one that is even better. There is an entire class of high dollar dollar solar "generators" that a lot of channels haven't talked much about. They mainly focus on Jackery, smaller Blueetti and midrange stuff like Inergy that are more affordable ir portable. But If you want to handle 30A receptacles, expand capacity and be able to integrate into your home's panel during an emergency or push 240V, these bigger ones are the way to go. 2500 to $8000 (and way up!) for for a starting kit depending on if you throw in solar panels, expandable batteries, adapters, and crazy stuff like the Ecoflow comes with a sun tracking solar solar panel frame, and even a freaking integrated gas generator that turns on and off automatically to keep the batteries topped off 😯. Of course people who are capable can build their own for less, but that's not something everybody can or is willing to do thus the reason why these are selling. A mechanical engineer can build their own car, a general contractor can build their own house, and somebody who understands electrical, battery types, charge controllers, and knows where to source all the parts and the tools to put it together could make one of these too. But it's not like assembling an ikea bookshelf so there will always be a market for for these devices that are way more expensive than just the sum of the parts.
What's the voltage between the 2 hots of the outlets? 0v or 240v? If it's 0 then this is only a 12vdc to 120vac inverter, which is my guess. If it's 240 then this is a 12vdc to 240vac inverter, which would be better but then it's strange they didn't utilize the feature.

My budget is little more than the tax of this unit but it is a nice one if you can afford it.
Small power banks and solar gen's do the job for me, I won't be powering any appliances over 100w or so
Interesting unit similar to mine. I built one in a yellow Pelican case same battery specs but only max 4k AC wattage. Definitely cheaper to build your own I want to build another and keep it more simple. I have some videos on my channel of mine.
the Altinator connectors are called power lock connectors, i use them in the events industry, for three phase AC at up to 800amps

Thank you, I never heard of these before and a subscriber told me to reach out to them and I was able to arrange getting to trial this one. Ecoflow vs Hybrid Power? They are both at the top of their game, the Ecoflow has more power and features and I love their products but they aren't waterproof and can't handle extreme cold and really aren't designed to be in the back of a truck all day, that's where this one comes in. So they are both really great but for two different situations.

Nice videos and how long can they charged on electric scooter quicker then normal wall plug charger as I know it's takes 3 to 6 hours charged from normal wall charger and haven't tried any portable generator before I can order one in

Looks like the top section is NOT cooled, is this an issue ? Do any of those control boxes get hot ?
I bought the Bluetti AC300 with much better rigid solar panels for $2k less. sure it cant be left in the rain but works great with as much and more features
