I'm always surprised to see folks work to catch live bait and then anchor it to the bottom with a jig head. I find you get harder strikes with a sliding sinker and a 6 to 12 inch leader. Or under a cork. Dead or cut bait, sure throw it on a jig head. Excellent cast net work, I haven't worked up the nerve to grow mine from my Kayak, I use it all the time from my bass boat. Tight lines keep up the good work.
i thought quite fascinating how that first mini front and high tide and ESE winds and rainstorms all combined on the same day to make the tides extra high like that. I mean, I was aware that it happens but I live up by Katy and only go down there like, once a month about. But the private pier I fish had the highest water level I have ever seen. Again, even though I know it happens and is possible, I’ve just never been there at the same time
Great video, Mark, you were pretty effective throwing that cast net while sitting in a kayak, very impressive, and a nice red to boot! Take care and be safe!
It ok next week its getting cold and low water tides . Those marshes are going to be full as fish will try to be in that nice warm mud . You got this brother
How long does your battery last on your kayak? What amp hr is it? I just got one of these kayaks and want to get set up. Love the videos keep them coming!
12-14 hours is the longest trip I’ve timed. 12 miles is the longest distance I’ve tracked. 100 ah FPV Power battery is what I’ve been using for the past three years with no issues.
Yeah my last trip out I got a hardhead stuck in the thigh. I wouldn’t turn around for my wife to see so she thought I hooked myself in the 🏀🏀. There was blood everywhere, she freaked out when she saw all the blood. I had to throw away a new pair of pants after that!!!
great video
You got a nice slot red - great video as always- tight lines- PuraSal 🙌🏻
Thanks so much!!
Good video!!
Thanks!
Glad to see the front cam.
It’s been a while since I’ve used it.

What type of bag are you using to put the fish in after you have cleaned it?

Nice catch bag cooler - do you have a link to that product? thank you
It’s a Yeti Hopper M30. Yeti currently has an active recall on it. The magnets/ magnetic strip are defective.
Hey Mark, where do you keep your spare battery at?
I don’t carry a spare.
Bro ur just too good. I almost tip over trying to take the hook out a fish and ur out here casting a net 😂
The cast net carried me, it’s pretty easy to throw a small one.

That Yeti M30 cooler is on recall. Are you still keeping it?
I didn’t know, thanks
I’m a army vet , I live in Houston as well , my boat in the shop right now but would be fun to see you on the water !
The cast net is not listed in your gear list-can you share the size net you are using?
It should be listed, fling cast net.
what size-looks like a smaller net?@@MDLRFishing

Where’s the fish bites? Lol are you no longer using catchco?
I usually use them when sight casting finicky reds.
always use a cast net--never buy bait. Good job casting while seated... not an easy skill.
Thanks 👍
The disaster was?
