What's remarkable about his quads ate that they're results of years of practice and perseverance. Yuzuru makes them look easy. They are woven into the programs but even if you remove them, the programs are still beautiful.
I'd love that Pooh-san heavenly moment also for those beautiful minimum pre-rotation toe-pick jumps. It's incredibly insane when looking at his jumps with almost no pre-rotation whatsoever but he makes it look so easy and smooth.
@@SkateInsider that toe pick could burst a balloon lol. That clip should be shown to whoever else doing the "full blade" technique. Man, that technique is ugly and forced.
I was surprised when Hanyu switched his solo 3A jump with 4T+3T in Japan Nats (3:56). He even did not change the steps into and out the 4T+3T, i.e. the "twizzle sandwich". Crazy because that steps are difficult and he did it with ease for a quad jump in combination. His 4S in GP Skate Canada is truly the best, I would throw +5 in a heartbeat. Also was I the only one who went crazy with the musical nuance in 0:42 - 0:43 ? The hands and head movements were so on point. I remember that I replayed that moment couple of times last year lol.

He changed the 3A to 4T combination cause he wasn't consistent on landing it as the last jump, so he probably wanted to change to get more points due to that inconsistence.
Deep outside edges 👌🏼 And that toe-pick, that’s just how you should do it. All this severe pre-rotation on the ice that has gone unnoticed has caused a change in technique for most skaters
I love this video. It is characteristic of outstanding players that difficult jumps seem easy. His jump is light and he has a long time to stay in the air.
omg awesome! Normally I only pay attention to artistic gymnastics and soccer but I became interested in figure skating only because of Yuzuru. Thank you for this very enlightening video that helps me to better understand his talent. He truly is the greatest.of.all.time !!

To be fair not only Russians, but yeah, it's kinda normal for the top skaters there. Alternate technique. Whatever they execute must be just called an eteri jump. Simple. No technical questions could be applied then.
@@oceanle flip is troubled too - prerotated with full blade take off. Even triple. Coach doesn't give a crap about the technique, which is criminal, as having wrong technique puts body in higher risk of traumas, besides looks ugly, and not that girls are not capable... Does anyone know the question to this: What makes an axel jump so surprising, or more important than the others? Because Yuzuru once said that the axel is considered the king of jumps, but i dont know what makes it so special. Anyone care to explain? Thanks in advance. Have a good day. : )
Axel jump is the only jump with forward entry. All of the other jumps are backwards entry, i.e. you glide backwards and jump. With axel, you usually glide backwards, then turn and jump forward which is much more difficult. And since all jumps must land and glide backwards, with Axel you'd need to add an extra 1/2 rotation in the air. Also, it's an edge jump (vs. toe) hence more difficult. This is for the technical part. Now, Yuzu also said he liked axel jumps because it's a continuous flow forward, it's more beautiful in the choreo. Yuzu is a madlad 😁 The more difficult the more he enjoys.
Let's be honest here if Yuzu just prerotates his flip and lutz he'll be able to land 4F and 4Lz consistently but he doesn't because he wants his jumps to be perfect and not just jump or land it for points it's because he wants to put out a clean and perfect program when literally prerotation is not illegal or penalized. And the reason why most of the ladies are more consistent in quads than Yuzu is because they prerotate so much and at most their jumps should be called fast overrated triples, and ofc what can I say about their edges 🤦♀️🤦♀️ that's why ISU should penalized prerotation. Also people should know how difficult Yuzu's transtions are in and out .
according to Yuzu he actually tried to change his lutz/flip technique to pre-rotate more (to be more consistent and for the sake of his ankle i guess) but his conclusion was “i literally cannot prerotate no matter how hard i try” coz his textbook technique is drilled so deep in him HAHA. GOAT behaviour…
Bro are you seeing the same goes? Please stop saying he gets underscored when your watching a vid of him getting over 4 points of goe on each jump. If that was a dif skater they would even get close to those goes
