A lot of people say that they really connect with Percy but for me, it's always been Annabeth. She has always been my favorite because I can really understand her. I mean, I do great in school and I'm always trying to do something and I'm not very polite at all. Like, a lot of people really love Good Kid because they can totally get what Percy's going through but this is the song that always gets me. I've felt like this so many times. Invisible. Not able to prove myself. From the start Annabeth has always been more relatable to me and I know a lot of people don't agree with this but that's how it is for me

What this show managed to do absolutely brilliantly is illustrate that all of the demigods (though particularly Percy, Annabeth, and Luke) have issues stemming from parental abandonment/neglect, which really enhances the main conflict. When Luke turns, it's totally understandable because we've seen how upsetting it is to our heroes that their moms were left "all on their lonesome" and that they're basically invisible to their parents (both godly and non-godly in Annabeth's case). Luke is the head of the Hermes cabin and is almost singularly tasked with the responsibility of helping these dozens of other neglected kids navigate this world of monsters and gods--no wonder he's so pissed at the Olympians!

I was lucky enough to see the Percy Jackson musical for myself, with the original Annabeth, and let me just say, this song sounded even better live! Definitely worth the price of of the tickets.
The parallels between this and Percy’s songs are amazing tbh, one I haven’t seen anyone talking about is “It may not be my quest // But maybe it’s mine to win” and “I’m the son of Poseidon and I didn’t want to be // I’m the son of Poseidon and I am gonna win” it fits so well.

At school, we had to do a writing prompt about whether we think a book (Of our choice) would make a good movie or not. I literally wrote it like there aren't any Peter Johnson movies, though I did throw shade at them all at the same time. One thing I wrote was how they wouldn't be able to capture their complex personalities (*cough* The movies *cough*). And yet here we are, the musical did such a great job on getting their personalities right, just like Annabeth here :')
I'm auditioning to sing this at my last chorus concert of middle school, I have gotten into 1 thing I've auditioned for, that a side part for the school play last year I auditioned for everything in chorus and I've improved so much, so wish me luck
