also, give me your lil baby brains to pick. I tried boomsday puzzle and im not sure how to edit them. do you think I should leave in the long pauses of me trying to think or cut that out to be a bit shorter? im curious.
Perhaps you could speed up the long pauses but put a timer in a corner of the screen so we know how much time went by
probably cut out pauses, but leave in vocalized thoughts
fast forward most of the long brainstorming i would say.

patches was really good when he first came out (and is still a good thing to throw in your wild pirate deck). there was a 1 drop pirate that would equip a 1/3 weapon. so you would get 2 1/1s and a 1/3 weapon for 1 mana on turn 1. super tempo

@@roguebansheecharge was only a small part of why he was really good, there is a reason every pirate deck that could play patches did play patches even after the nerf
@@jacksonmagas9698 hell, there were decks that included just 1 or 2 suboptimal pirates as an excuse to play Patches even post-nerf. That's how insane he is/was.

switched to MTG a year and a half ago from hearthstone but the game still brings back good memories
I've been noticing these adventures got a lot easier with newer cards added to the discover and random card generation pools.
I saw the VOD on Twitch and had to watch 7:20 on repeat like 100 times in a row 😂It is pure poetry ahahaha
Seeing you having so much fun made me re-install HS after years just to try the Heroic adventures again.

For a little bit of background, jade golems were meta with the druid jade deck being able to literally go on forever summoning jade golems by shuffling a spell into their deck so they'd speedrun through their deck and spam larger and larger men

A true enemies to lovers story
To all Hearthstone player, Voxy point of view of power level is not the same as us cuz she never play standard. Almost everyone who play HS since the beginning agree that patches power level during his standard time (especially when hes"in charge") is easily on the top10 legendary of ALL time.
But in dungeon run, even with 2 patches it doesnt feel that great, especially when enemy starts with 2-3 more mana and passives changing tempo of the game. Also deck thinning is not necessary in dungeon run.
You should remember that Patches used to have Charge, which usually meant a free 1/1 that hit you on turn 1.

That's something I don't like with card games like that: You find cool concepts that you love (for me it was the Jade Golem and the Elementals), and then one day they become "Wild", and the archetypes are forgotten in favor of new ones. But there's no guarantee you'll like the new ones! :p
Id love to get another mean streets set. I loved jades and I loved the potion cards. They could even have twist to bring the old ones back into the same pool as the new ones, and give bonuses to the archtypes. Maybe after we get one more class, so they can do a triclass group with dk, dh, and whatever the new class is?

Jade Golems were so disgustingly strong back in constructed back in the day, I despised playing against them because they rolled over every control deck without the slightest bit of skill involved. If you look up a clip of Day9 ranting about Jade Golems you'll see how I and a lot of others felt captured perfectly haha. I'm not sure how strong they'd be these days though, the game is a lot faster.
I might be misremembering, but I’m pretty sure the only Jade deck that was consistently good as a control deck was Druid (rogue and shaman had Jade packages in decks, but weren’t all-in as a wincon), and that came down specifically to Jade Idol. Invalidating fatigue and giving infinite threats was a broken combo in control mirrors
@@chrayez Druid was definitely the worst offender, yeah, though midrange Jade shaman was also disgusting. Jade rogue was relatively tame, so I didn't mind that so much. But just to be clear, I wasnt complaining about them being really strong control decks, I was complaining about them rolling over almost all control decks with more giant men than could reasonably be removed, often produced early enough to have a surprising amount of tempo for what was conceived of as a ramping-in-power kind of archetype, and the fact that so little thought went into piloting a jade deck, just keep playing your bigger and bigger dudes until you win.

Calling murlocs scary is situation dependent.
They can be bad news when buffed, but usually fill up the board with 1/1 powered fishes.
Unless you pull one of the "for every murloc in existence give your murlocs +1/+1" spells, Then they are scary.

when patches released it also had charge, and made every single aggro deck just that mutch better because it basically gave you 2 one drops for free.
As someone who played both HS and Magic, i'd compare it to something like eldrazi winter for modern or how some cards like Oko will just warp an entire format around them. Just like magic players always calling 2 mana 2/2s a bear etc, HS players will always meme about patches, always huffer, crackle = 6 etc
30/30 is definitly max unless they changed it, i achieved it on druid way back when

Wild HS and Modern MTG player here. I can see why Patches sounds so bad from someone who plays more limited formats like Draft in MTG, but in eternal formats stuff that gets this low to the ground on early turns and where synergy is so high (especially since patches procs ship's cannon for free for another 2 damage while adding stats which is a huge swing in damage/board control) is so important. If the pirate deck (in current meta, it'd mostly be Rogue or Shadow Priest, though you sometimes see Warrior or Druid play pirates) is on the coin/draw and cannon + 1 mana pirate and maybe a frenzied felwing + parachute brigand for instance in starting hand, turn 2 can summon as high as 10/10-10/13 in stats while also dealing 6 damage to face or also blow out the enemy board. In the words of a former Wild player "Selecting your deck and queueing is your early game, your mulligan is your mid game, and your turn 1 is your late game", haha. Patches is arguably the safest craft if you're a Wild player, has outlasted even Leeroy which was an aggro staple for a long time.
just a suggestion, it might be fun to react to the most viewed hs clips of all time, or specifically just day9 playing hearthstone clips.

Look, i've played HS since the beta, legend every season i've played enough, and i sincerely believe Patches is the most overrated card in the history of the game.
Thing is, rarran was not right. The fact that his channel is based on hearthstone, doesn't mean that he doesn't suck at hearthstone. He failed at explaining why patches was good, and that's why you weren't convinced until playing it yourself
