Best Travel Drone in 2024 - DJI Mini 4 Pro

- If you are looking for a drone that is easy to pack, and lightweight but still has great video and photo capabilities as well as all the intelligent flight modes then I highly recommend the DJI Mini 4 Pro. In my opinion, the Mini 4 Pro is the best drone for travel and hiking that DJI currently sells. Really any of DJI's folding drones are a good choice but there are many reasons why the DJI Mini 4 Pro has the advantage when it comes to the best travel drone.

This is a great choice for a travel drone. But I'm taking the DJI Air 3 to the 'South Florida Drone Meetup' instead. It can be very windy in Florida that time of year, and Air 3 can handle high winds much better than the Mini 4. Great video Shawn, thanks for sharing.

I have the Air 3 and the Mini 4 Pro and by far the Mini Pro 4 is a great travel drone but lets not forget about the controller that weighs more and is larger. Suddenly is not a small package. Fter watching your recent review I ordered a PGYTECH OneGo Solo V2 Camera Sling Bag, 6L Crossbody Camera Shoulder to carry my Mini 4 pro and accessories. I can also fit in my Osmo Pocket 4 and accessories and a small power bank. The reality is that the drone is small but when you add the controller and accessories things are not that small.
Definately the best drone for 2024, hands down. (Especially when it comes to size and features)
Personally, I’d pack any drone that would launch without remote ID enabled. Also one that doesn’t come with geofencing from Big Brother manufacturer.
That’s it I’m upgrading my M3P!

Just my thoughts.
Because of the international drone laws, all drones are now in categories.
So instead of drone customers buying a drone based on the most expensive being, the biggest and most expensive drone.
Now the trend is to have a sub 250g drone with a camera which is nearly as good as the camera in an Air 3, and the Air 3 has a camera which is nearly as good as the Mavic 3 Pro in some situations.
Keep in mind that some buyers in some locations maybe limited to just 250 gram drones.
Regarding Obstacle avoidance, is useful. Just remrmber you can use propeller gaurds, if you think you are going to fly in risky areas.
Nobody talks about this.
So I think the Mini series is a very important and popular segment of the drone market place.
However I would love to see
1. A miniature Dji Inspire to be sub 900 grams with inter changeable lenes. ( I am just dreaming)
2. HDR for panoramas.
3. Focus stacking
4. In camera colour profiles for different lighting situations.

I don't know about that, if I went somewhere for a holiday and they were going to confiscate my drone at the airport I would hop on the next plane to anywhere my drone will be safe from jealous airport staff
