    Two hands are better than one was my first thought, however if it’s referring to that she’s so big that you can’t get both arms around her than that’s not very good…but they need love too.

    It's been a minute or 20 years or more since I've put a clutch in a tractor, most that I've done has been smaller 40 horse or so ones. I enjoyed watching your installation process, brings back some old memories. Thanks Chris, I hope you have a grand Friday and an awesome weekend.☺

    Clutches ... I've fought them and fought them before. Once one went in so easy I took it back out to make sure I had done it right. Stupid mistake.🙄

    Man I hope Ross doesn’t see you struggling with that 230 lbs of torque-I just watched him swing a sledge like it was a golf club, never let them see you sweat. 😂

      I watched the same video, he was huffin and a puffin. I was holding the pry bar with my right hand and pulling the ratchet with the left. Let's see Ross do that! 😂

    Clutch, simple but nothing goes anywhere without it. And probably the most abused part on the tractor.

    • @ThatOliverGuyChris
      @ThatOliverGuyChris  ปีที่แล้ว

      I second that. I remember at service school they said they were experimenting with kevlar clutches. They had fantastic wear properties, but it was hard to get enough friction to make them work.

    • @randallvos
      @randallvos ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In the early seventies, Deere changed to a wet disc clutch, they called it Perma-Clutch. Had one in a 4240, only thing I didn't like was that it tends to be grabby, hard to feather engagement..........

    Another good informative video Chris. My only suggestion would be to hire a good comedian to throw in some corny humor. Wonder who you could find that would do that? Oh well, maybe we can think of someone.

    I gotta do this to a 1755 I believe ima build me a wooden holder like I did for a 1850 the Olivers are a lot easier to work on without a shop than any of the rest where you gotta split it and need a splitting stand

    • @ThatOliverGuyChris
      @ThatOliverGuyChris  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've split a few tractors over the years, and I'd much rather pull the engine out of an Oliver.

    • @xade7863
      @xade7863 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea I like it being the fact I don’t have a shop with concrete and I can take a front end loader and pick the motor up out and put it back it and it’s a lot safer and faster

    I had a piece of 11guage steel made to fit my bench with a lip that hangs over the edge about an inch. Besides owning a bench, the steem top is one of the biggest must haves for any shop. the 11guage is about 1/8th inch thick, I can beat on it all day and it holds up. I can spray ti down with degreaser and it cleans off like new.

      Good to know! The local steel mill has an outlet store. I might have to piece it together, but it sure saves some $$$

    I need to change the throw out bearing in a 550 with a back hoe and loader. is it still best to split the tractor or just pull the engine?

    • @ThatOliverGuyChris
      @ThatOliverGuyChris  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm not sure there is room to pull the engine that way. If you can get the top center section out, you will still need to move the engine straight ahead a few inches before it can go up. In short, I'd can only say maybe you can pull it without splitting it. I've never tried it. Doing the Z split is normally the best way, but I'm sure the loader frame is going to make that more of a job.

      My local pump shop, Diesel Equipment Repair in Potterville MI. I bought them a year ago, so maybe supply issues have cropped up since then?
