Today I remembered Jose Wejebe, I rembered watching spanish fly with my father and how my father admired Jose, his knowledge, his outlook on fishing and on life. Good memories.
I loved this man and his show and how he treated the whole experience of fishing. I commented on one of his shows telling him how much I respected the things he did, and how he treated fish species in general. He told me "You get it!" "Not many people do." Put a big smile on my face with that response. Was so sad when I heard of his passing. You have a great Dad Krissy. I miss him and his show.
Krissy, while I never met your father, I am a huge fan of his show and I'll never forget the day I heard of his passing. I was on my way out the door to go to work but I sat down and watched an episode of Spanish Fly that I had on VHS. I was late to work and when I told my Boss, he said "Wow... that's hard to understand why the lord would want him in the prime of his life... We sat and talked about Jose and the many famous guests he had on the show. I'm so happy to see you doing well and may you always keep your father's memories close. From a Landlubber in Missouri.
I've been fishing since I was 8 years old and consider myself a truly great fisherman,I have watched almost all of The Spanish Fly's shows,enjoyed them all,My opinion on Jose is- out of all famous fisherman on T.V. or otherwise He is in the top 5 on the planet (PERIOD BAR NONE) world class fisherman,gentleman R.I.P. SPANISH FLY!!!
I grew up watching the Spanish Fly. Honestly, Jose had a very strong impact on my life and getting me involved with fly fishing. He was simply the best.
Baby....you got a pretty good dad. I am a pretty good Grand Dad . Passing on the adventure is .........pretty unexplainable. It's more of a feeling. They seem to get it.
