Eloy is is on another level. As much respect as I have for Joey and the amazing parts that he wrote, Eloy's execution is just insane. If you go back and watch old live videos of Slipknot with Joey behind the kit, he was always pushing the tempo faster and faster...which is really badass when you can still play those parts at that speed, don't get me wrong, but Eloy? Eloy plays in the pocket. He's not pushing the tempo, he understands when to hold back and when you push, and there's no mistakes- no sloppy tom fills or double kicks- everything is played cleanly, and having a drummer that in the zone, that reliable, makes the rest of the band play better. I wouldn't be surprised if Slipknot kept touring for another 10 years.
