Vincent Price’s voice greeting folks is the ultimate spooky, haunted scenario. He was apparently a really nice guy, and he loved to cook, but even talking cooking his voice made folks hesitant. 😆 Of course in a Disney video I can’t help but think of “Rattigan… Rattigan” and the “Goodbye so soon.”😂 (I hope you’ve seen “The Great Mouse Detective”)

Visited this theme park for the first time back in May of this year. It rained the entire time, which didn't phase me as an original Floridian, but 3-4 of major rides were closed the entire time. Because I went by myself, I got to squeeze into restaurants and take advantage of single rider lines. Where there were none, I splurged on premiere access for every single ride, show, and convenience (bag drop off at the train station) there was. And it was fabulous! With my 2 night-3 day package at the Cheyenne, I only spent the first & third day in the park. Stayed in bed, watched movies and ate junk the whole of day two.
Ahhh, that’s so amazing that you got to go solo!! Smart moves getting the premiere access and using bag drop off. There all so many cool conveniences to take advantage of. Honestly, that day in the middle staying in bed and eating junk sounds perfect!! We were sooo tired by day 3 and could have really used a relaxing day in the middle!! 🥰💖
@@nerdydaydreams Yes! That's precisely why I did. I was 4/5 into my European holiday having travelled there from Sydney where I live so I was already tired before I got there. @@marykay8587 omg I don’t meet other Mary’s too often!! Simon and I are hoping to go to Disneyland in Tokyo next! What’s your favorite thing about those parks? 💖🤓
I appreciate seeing the rides with the full or partial clips of the rides. I haven’t ever been able to go, and with my health I’m not certain I’d be able to in the future. Especially those rides with flashing lights, especially strobe lights. I watch in stages, so I don’t get motion sickness or dizzy, but I appreciate them very much. Thank you kindly. Thunder Mountain looks so neat inside the ride and outside. Especially in the morning. From a photographer and an artist’s perspective that lighting was fantastic.
I’m so glad you liked seeing the ride footage! I felt like I was including a lot but I know I would want to see ride footage of the park if I hadn’t been there. Please let me know if it would be helpful if I added strobe/flash warnings 💖. Thunder Mountain was soo beautiful! I loved all the cactus plants and seeing the water and the rest of the park from the top! 😍
@@nerdydaydreams I really do enjoy them and I sincerely appreciate them. You two also try to film as steadily as possible and that helps too. I love to see whatever you’re willing to film. Just don’t interrupt your fun for us viewers. 😊 I enjoy your walks seeing all the scenes. Your trips into theme shops reminds me of when we had a Disney store about 35 miles away when I was a kid and we’d spend time once a year just admiring all the displays and products, most of which we couldn’t get, like we were pretend visiting a store in Disneyland or Disneyworld. Yes, it would be helpful and most appreciated for a strobe/flash warning if it’s not too much trouble. I don’t want to make your editing or filming more difficult for little ole me. Mostly when there are A LOT of quickly flashing lights or at least strobes because those are the most difficult. Then I could know when to cover my eyes and just listen for a minute. I have to do that with emergency vehicle lights in person and on videos too. When you are going onto rides I usually don’t know what to expect, so I just am prepared that there probably will be some lights as there is already the movement of the ride. That’s why I watch those segments in stages. I don’t think I’d ever get to enjoy many of those in person unless my system would straighten out because that would be immersing my whole body into the movement and lights. I’ve found, as long as I do ones like the Thunder Mountain segment on the small screen I can watch in small doses without being overwhelmed. ☺️
I went to Eurodisney very soon after it opened. The park was mostly deserted, LOL! I remember vividly that we went on Big Thunder Mountain... but we didn't know we were goin on it. Because it's on an island, and the entrance is not... we thought we were just in line for a different attraction. Me, my sis and my parents got on what we thought was a little train ride. And giiiiirl were we wrong! Me and the fam just screaming our lungs out! First rollercoaster I ever went on as a kid. It's probs my fave ride in Disneyland Paris now, but I certainly did not love it at that point, LOL! I also remember the first parade we saw. I was unnerved by the characters in suits. So I looked away. And Pluto came up to me and punched me because I wouldn't look at him #traumatized Went to the park a dozen times since. Love it. Can't wait to go again!
omg that's such an amazing Big Thunder Mountain story!! I am so sorry that happened, but I love that it's a funny memory now and your favorite ride. I think it was my favorite ride from the whole park. We made sure to ride it twice 🤓💖 and PLUTO!! LOL. hope you get to go back soon!!
Very good idea going on the Haunted House BEFORE having a chilli hotdog for breakfast! That could have been a disaster! Oh, it is plant-based? That is awesome! I wouldn't have thought they would caster for that! :) Looks great! I went here when decades ago (definitely when it was still Euro Disney) so it is really cool to see what it looks like now!
bahaha yes, you’re so right about the timing of the hot dog chili combo!! 😂💖 we’re so grateful for all of the plant-based options at the Disney parks! Simon and I are both vegan, so if you’re looking for plant-based park options, stick around! 🥰
Nice…looks great…I’ve booked a trip to Anaheim after all so I can enjoy the park and visit Earlof sandwich before it gets completely tore down…enjoy and stay safe you two.
I’m so glad you’re going back!! I have good news!! In the latest concept art for the new area in Downtown Disney, there is a huge Earl of Sandwich at the new entrance down by Din Tai Fung. This blog post has the image about halfway down: www.micechat.com/344054-disneyland-news-downtown-disney-expansion/ Hopefully that one will open up just after the other closes! 🤓💖
I'm an annual passholder to DLP, and every single trip, I HAVE to take a photo of the castle. It's just that stunning, and it never gets old! Here in the Netherlands everyone still calls it EuroDisney, which is actually really interesting because it was only called that for just over 2 years and it still stuck for over 30 so far! It changed its name 3 days before I was born so my parents telling me 'back then it was still EuroDisney' has me going WelL AcTuaLlY xD CEDRIIICCC! He's the CM saying 'Hiii' as you walk into the Phantom Manor queue. He is a Disneyland Paris legend! He used to be a ToT CM, and is actually in Behind the Attraction! These comments taught me about Vincent Price voicing here and NOW I CAN'T UNHEAR IT. In my defense, I'm mostly going in through the exit so I don't hear it as often, haha! Casey's Corner served breakfast hot dogs for like a few weeks before they stopped again. It was a shame, they were quite good! ALSO HOW CAN I GO EVERY MONTH AND NEVER GET EVACUATED OFF ANYTHING AND PEOPLE THERE FOR THREE HOURS DO SKDJHDSG so jealous!
Omg, your comment just made me smile so big!! First, I have to tell you that we’ve been annual passholders at Disneyland in California for years, and we’ve also never been evacuated off of a ride there!! It’s so random how that happened to Simon on his first go at Hyperspace Mountain in Paris. I bet now that we’ve put it out into the universe, it’ll happen to you and me next LOL! Also, I am obsessed with your castle!! I could have stood and admired it all day honestly 🥹💖. And nooo wayy about Cedric!! He did seem extra enthusiastic!! I’ll have to go back and watch Behind the Attraction again. We loved the Casey’s Corner hotdogs for breakfast! 😂
How do you visit from the Netherlands? Do you always get a hotel somewhere or are you good with less sleep and a lot of driving? If the first, any recommendations for affordable stays?
@@inshort6831 About 95% of the time, I get a hotel. I think I only once got in in the morning and left at night again- by bus (got there at 8:30am but had to leave before the park closed, but it was COVID and there was no show anyways). Another time I stayed over at a friend’s in Paris. We live only 4,5 hours away but it’s just not worth it to risk your health and safety by driving down for a day. I go by bus (don’t have a driver’s license) or by car if either (or both) of my parents are going. Rarely go by train due to costs and times. I stay in a Disney hotel when I can for the convenience, but often it’s too expensive and I stay at places like Ibis (budget), Campanile, B&B hotels.
I am French and Disneyland Paris is my “home” Disney park (even if I live far away of the park). So glad to see you discovering the park and having so much fun there. Your video is so cool 😇. Oh it is funny I have never been evacuated from a ride in Disneyland Paris . So want to see space mountain light on. I went one day to Disneyland in Anaheim in 2022 (one day was too short). I had been evacuated of Web there like you for space in Paris lol. Honestly I was impressed by Disneyland resort. So different and so similar at same time. It was an amazing day. Hope to come back there soon Can’t wait to see the part 2.
Thank you so much for your kind comment!! Okay, this is so funny because Simon and I have never been evacuated from a Disneyland Anaheim ride but then he got evacuated in Paris 😂. Seeing Hyperspace Mountain with the lights on was wild!! I’m glad you’ve got to come by our home park! You’re so right about it being so similar and also so different. It’s hard to describe! I really love the Anaheim Disneyland and its layout, but the Disneyland Paris castle in particular is sooo special!! 😍
@@nerdydaydreams yes our castle in Paris is so beautiful. But you have amazing rides in California inside the two parks. Rise of resistance and Radiator spring racer are amazing and impressive. I couldn’t do Indiana jones adventure (down all the day unfortunately). Hope to come back there soon
@@edoras86 that is true!! you're naming my favorite rides. 🥲 I'm sorry that you missed Indiana Jones while you were in Anaheim! It is definitely one of the rides that breaks down the most -- next time it'll be open! 💕
That's so funny you said that Phantom Manor made you think of Pirates, because that's exactly what I thought too! Also, I noticed that the voice of the Ghost Host sounds kinda like Vincent Price. Fitting. Lol.
okay, I'm so glad you thought Pirates too! haha. It was all of those skeletons and then the little village of animatronics at the end! omg, Vincent Price!! I googled him -- so many horror films! fitting indeed 👻
I think it’s meant to be a tie in to Big Thunder Mountain rather than pirates: they’re ghosts from a mining accident hanging out in a saloon. It’s because the Paris mansion is part of Frontierland, whereas the others are in Liberty Square. Also, where is Simon from? He sounds like a Welshman (South East at a guess) - surprising accent for a California resident at any rate.
Yes that's correct, DLP's Frontierland has quite a detailed backstory that ties the town, mine, cemetery, and manor all together. Replacing Tom Sawyer's island with BTM was a great decision.
@@MrDanJB85 oh my gosh, good ear!! Simon is from Wales! He grew up in Bridgend, then moved to England (Bristol) for university and stayed 10 years, so a lot of folks don't hear the Welsh as much anymore. This is something we've heard from a few others too!! We're huge Star Wars fans, but I could totally see how the original form fits better. At "our" Disneyland in California, we have Hyperspace Mountain just during may for Star Wars month, and then it goes back to the classic. I hope they can create something like that at the Disneyland Paris park for all of the folks who miss the original design. 💖🤓

Thank you!! And ahhhh they do not have Galaxy’s Edge unfortunately. They were slated to get it, but the rumor is that they are no longer getting it. They have Hyperspace Mountain, Star Tours, and a meet and greet with Darth Vader (which we didn’t do) 😮. It definitely felt like something was missing!
@@Lord_Mangoat Galaxy's Edge was planned for their studios park, alongside Frozen (which is well under construction), but it quietly disappeared from the plans and concept art work. Now it seems a Lion King land and attraction (Splash Mountain, basically) will be added instead.
So cool that you got stuck on Space Mountain! Did it start up again or did you walk off somehow? Also, I find the darkness (only been in Disney World and Disneyland rides) to be more exhilarating as you can't see the turn or dip coming. I don't have Acrophobia, so if it is the heights that get to you, maybe it is better? I think they use fans as well to make it feel like you are going faster. Hope your trip was wonderful.
Thank you!! 💖 Simon ended up having to climb/walk off of Space Mountain, which he said wasn’t easy, as he was stuck on a slope. I am a bit of a scaredy cat and I can’t decide if being able to see the dips helps me or not. I think it helps me to know ahead of time what to expect on a ride, but also seeing a big dip coming makes me nervous too! 😮
It’s so quiet! No crowds or lines? I know it’s morning and you have an hours early entry but compared to the stampede of rope drop MK in Orlando it looks wonderfully empty!! Maybe the time of year? 🤷🏻♀️ Either way what a lovely thing
We said the same thing!! We used the extra magic hour every morning, so we didn’t get to experience a true rope drop, but it was so worth getting up early. The lines at Disneyland Paris really weren’t bad at all throughout the day! We didn’t use their fast pass, and we still got to ride everything we wanted to. Our next video is going to be our day at Walt Disney Studios (their other Disney park) and that was a bit trickier due to construction, but still so fun! 💖💖💖
hi! thanks so much for noticing the quality.💖 Simon is a camera nerd, so we use a couple of different ones. We mostly film with our Sony a7cii, but for rides, we occasionally switch it up! On Big Thunder Mountain, we used the Insta360 x4 so we could get every direction. On Hyperspace Mountain, we used the DJI Osmo Pocket3 for the gimbal! (On Phantom Manor and Buzz Lightyear’s Laser Blasters, we used our Sony a7cii because they’re very smooth and chill rides). Simon films, and then I edit in Final Cut Pro. I usually don't do any color correction for the Sony footage, unless a cloud came by and made a random clip dark, and then I'll raise the midtones and play around a little with brightness in the editor in Final Cut Pro. (We do have the picture profile off on the camera, and Simon uses a custom profile and plays with the settings. He just watches a ton of youtube videos on camera settings and tries them all until he likes what he sees lol). I leave the Insta360 x4 as-is. For the DJI Osomo Pocket3, I use the technical lut from the DJI website in Final Cut Pro, and I don't really touch that either unless it's dark! That was a lot!! haha. Let me know if I can clarify anything 🤓
@@nerdydaydreams thanks so much for your extensive explanation! It helped alot :) i enjoyed the video, and I must say considering the image/color quality it's one of the nicest i've seen! (and i've watched quite a bit of disney vlogs haha). Thanks again, and take care!
That’s great advice! We were really happy going on Big Thunder first. 💖🤓 we skipped Peter Pan only because we heard it is very similar to “ours” back in California. But I’d for sure recommend to try it out for anyone who hasn’t been on it at another park!
I tend to use the list version of the main Disneyland app it gives you a clearer look at character meet times too BUT the app doesn’t include everything that goes on in the parks especially character meets there’s so many that never show on the app. But once you know where them meets are ya know for future trips. For wait times I also use the MagiPark app, that I finds more accurate for wait times, rides with tech issues etc I’m not sure why the main dlp app isn’t as quick to update for things like that.
Oooh, that’s such good advice, thanks so much. 💖 I hadn’t heard of the MagiPark app! At some point on our trip, I did start using the DLP app in list form, especially when searching for food. That made it much easier!
@@nerdydaydreams if you ever go to DLP again I def recommend trying magipark it shows you the main park and the studios park ride wait times :) & right! Isn’t the list form on the main app so much easier on the eye? I often check it for show , parade etc times outside of the obv booking tables, marvel meets etc helps to know what food places are closed too, to save walking to the other side of the park only to find it’s closed :)
@@SarahFreer oh my gosh, yes, our first night there, we didn't realize how early some of the restaurants closed and ended up eating dinner in Disney Village. The app ended up being so much help! We are definitely going to go back when Walt Disney Studios finishes their construction and new lands, so I'll be sure to download magipark. Can't wait! Thank you! 🥰
@@nerdydaydreams ah yeah they tend to start closing from 5pm mostly I’ve noticed . I find the village is better for food overall! The main park I feel lacks in that department . Avengers campus does good buffet at pyms and stark factory does very nice pizza slices and pasta etc my fave food place though is prob steakhouse in the village! I just wish i could get double the steak for the same price haha but yes def check magi park out! I downloaded it before I went and used it for the first time to see what it was about. So come park time I was familiar :)
Turns out Disneyland Padis doesn't want people to record the rides actually, I think on fast rides where you can easily drop your camera, so they'll stop the ride to tell you not to record! That's what i know at least,, since they didn't stop you on the haunted mansion ride.
You’re totally right! We try our best to follow the rules and always put away the camera if we’re asked. We love the cast members and get that they want to keep us safe! 🤓💖
@@nerdydaydreamsCool to hear it's on your list! Yeah I've been to Efteling a few times, it's beautiful. You can google some pics and then you'll see you will love it 😉, most Disney fans do. 😂💖 exactly!! It was so good though. Simon and I are both vegan, and we found it tricky to find any plant-based breakfast offerings at the quick service restaurants. We heard that the buffets at hotels had a few things to choose from, but we were more excited to get into the parks and have some fun. We definitely ate non-traditional breakfast all three mornings there!
oooh if it was giving you trouble commenting, it may be because I uploaded this video twice! (there was an error the first time, so I had to take it down - maybe you were trying to comment on the old one as I took it down). and also, lmao! I just immediately burst into tears when I saw the castle 🥲🥲🥲!! It was so pretty. 💖
@nerdydaydreams ohhh ok, thank you for that explanation. The tears are fine. It makes us know you are human and makes things real and not just a picture on the screen.
It looked like in the photo of the hot dog, the chili was on top, but when they served it to us, it was hidden underneath the sausage! It was still delicious though 😍💖
@@nerdydaydreams yeah, I think they changed it about a year ago. They used to serve it in a normal open paper „bowl“ (don’t know how to say it in English) and then started to serve it in a closed package, and I think that’s why they changed it, so the sauce etc wouldn’t stick on the inside. Also it’s cheaper to use less sauce, chilli etc. they also went up in price the last 2 years … but everything did 😅
@@DasTamii that makes sense! it would be totally messy with the closed container with chili on top. Things are getting pricier over here too, but I keep paying, lol! 🥲
I’m disappointed in Disneyland Paris for one thing. Why oh why would they get rid of the Jules Verne connection in France of all places? I’ve never been to any of the parks, but I was sad with the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea ride closed. I would have expected something to be Jules Verne themed and Alexandre Dumas with The Three Musketeers in France. 🥺
It’s not completely gone, the whole of their Discoveryland is themed around Jules Verne and a steam punk vibe. This was largely done to try and avoid the issue of Tomorrowland becoming dated too quickly. There has long been hope that the Hyperspace overlay will be removed, and the ride will either return to the original, or Mission 2 including the return of the launch canon effects. They’re actually in the process of some significant refurbishment and a large maintenance/access bay was added behind the ride building, which has stirred up hopes again about the removal of Hyperspace.
There’s a bit more to see of the Jules Verne connection in the part 2 of this video (coming soon!) that I think you’ll appreciate. @nightowlnzab is right, there is a lot of steam punk style architecture around this area of the park. Hopefully I’ll have more footage to show of it! 💖
@@nightowlnzab Oh that’s wonderful. Okay, I was bummed but that sounds so much better than I thought. He had such a huge influence on science fiction and in turn steampunk that the connection should definitely be there in France. @@marykay8587 omg I don’t meet other Mary’s too often!! Simon and I are hoping to go to Disneyland in Tokyo next! What’s your favorite thing about those parks? 💖🤓
@@nerdydaydreams everyone is so considerate and no yelling or raging moments like I've experienced in Anaheim or Florida 😅
And Pluto came up to me and punched me because I wouldn't look at him #traumatized
Went to the park a dozen times since.
The castle is so pretty!!!! 😮❤
I’m seriously in love with it!! 😍💖

Hopefully that one will open up just after the other closes!
It changed its name 3 days before I was born so my parents telling me 'back then it was still EuroDisney' has me going WelL AcTuaLlY xD
CEDRIIICCC!
@@nerdydaydreams Fingers crossed for our own evacuations, we deserve them, hahah!
Disneyland Paris is so Beautiful
I agree!! I can't stop thinking of the castle especially! 🤩
Hope to come back there soon
Can’t wait to see the part 2.
It is Vincent Price, they restored his recording of the English narration when the ride was refurbed a few years ago.
He's a California resident because he married an American - me! haha 💖
you're so right about Phantom Manor! I had forgotten that whole storyline 😮. so cool!
Thank for the video !
Can’t wait for part 2!
Love to hang out with you in my park.
What is the camera that you use?The color are amazing!
Hi!! Thank you so much!! 🥹💖 We had the best time at Disneyland Paris!! It was so special. Part 2 is coming out very soon.
🤓💖 thanks again!

What an absolutely stunning video! What camera are you using? ☺️

What camera are you using for on ride filming?
Glad you had a great time here.

Wow I believe footage of hyperspace mountain with the lights on is pretty rare
It was a lucky chance!! 🤓💖
Does this one also have a Galaxy's Edge?
Looking forward to part 2!
@@nerdydaydreams Oh that is a shame if they don't get Galaxy's Edge!
@@Lord_Mangoat I agree!! Makes me super grateful for our local park!!
@@Lord_Mangoat Galaxy's Edge was planned for their studios park, alongside Frozen (which is well under construction), but it quietly disappeared from the plans and concept art work. Now it seems a Lion King land and attraction (Splash Mountain, basically) will be added instead.
@@nightowlnzab ahh, this is what I heard as well. a Lion King style Splash Mountain could be really fun! As long as Frozen stays too! 🥰
Oh my gorgeous showah doors that is a gorgeous haunted mansion

We made it!! It still doesn’t feel real 🥹💖
It’s so quiet! No crowds or lines? I know it’s morning and you have an hours early entry but compared to the stampede of rope drop MK in Orlando it looks wonderfully empty!!
Maybe the time of year? 🤷🏻♀️
Either way what a lovely thing
We said the same thing!! We used the extra magic hour every morning, so we didn’t get to experience a true rope drop, but it was so worth getting up early. The lines at Disneyland Paris really weren’t bad at all throughout the day! We didn’t use their fast pass, and we still got to ride everything we wanted to. Our next video is going to be our day at Walt Disney Studios (their other Disney park) and that was a bit trickier due to construction, but still so fun! 💖💖💖
@@nerdydaydreams look forward to that one! It’s such a contrast to Florida rope drop situation 🤣
@@emmajones942 thank you! and LOL, same at Disneyland in California 😂💕
What camera do you guys use? And do you do much color correction afterwards? I really love the quality!
hi! thanks so much for noticing the quality.💖 Simon is a camera nerd, so we use a couple of different ones.

Hey i love your video , you have to go to europa park the best park in the world.
Thank you so much! 💖 ooooh, yes!! We definitely have to check that park out! 😍
No, it isn't :) Umless you have been to Disneysea you can't say that about EP.
@@mutation173 DisneySea is also very high on our list!! 😍

The hot dogs used to be better, they had more stuff inside. :(
It looked like in the photo of the hot dog, the chili was on top, but when they served it to us, it was hidden underneath the sausage!
