I Do was released almost a year now and I still get teary watching the MV. I think the most popular theory is that the girls (physically interchangeable but five different personalities) altered the timeline with their orb.
So they went back to their planet, and it’s like nothing ever happened on earth. You can see in the end the guy seemed confused and couldn’t remember what happened. Which is super cruel cuz all those beautiful memories had to be erased to keep him safe.
Like you I was super super invested when I watch this for the first time.
Also, the song is soooo amazing. IDLE performed I Do as the encore song at their world tour in Singapore and I was there. It was the perfect song to wrap things up.
'I DO' was my first introduction to (G) I-dle and it was such a banger!!! But to my surprise, it wasn't a commercial success. I guess its due to the song being more Western audiences. Kpop in general have a different style and the musical arrangement is different, more dance heavy, and difficult and flashy choreography. I DO, doesnt involve any of the classic Kpop vibes so yes, you just have to chill and vibe with the song, in fact, its more suitable for an encore performance with the audience holding up Lighters.

Especially since Soyeon tries her best to put little details into their mvs or songs refering to Soojin so lemme explain the I DO Theory to you :D
So, The boy represent Soojin, as he tries his best to protect the "Alien" AKA the members. Like Soojin as she did her best to protect idle when her Scandal
Started, leaving the group to protect her members. The members also always said that Soojin is like a mother to them as she always tries everything to make her members happy, like the boy in the MV (in also can be the other way around)
You can see that the video starts with a spaceship falling into a forest, the impact represents the beginning of Soojins Bullying scandal.
There are many references to soojin in the video, like the tattoo from Miyeon in 2:37, placed exactly where Soojins tattoo is. Or the White dress in 2:45, one of Soojins dresses is identical.
Also 3:00 is a reference to soojin, since she always helped the members with their makeup. And you can see that the makeup is all dots, which is her usual make up. Including the iconic soojins mole under her eye. She also loves white flowers and she loves to eat white bell paper (4:41) Also in 4:32 you can see Shuhua watching a Video with the boy that is supposed to represent soojin. Shuhua once said that the forced soojin to watch a romantic movie with her and shuhua ended up crying halfway through the movie (Like shuhua in the mv) And Soojin spent ten minutes wiping away her tears. Which is exactly what happened in that scene.
Lets Return to Soojins scandal. You can see that blue Ball getting highlighted several times, after the initial impact, things calmed down until seo shin ae accused soojin of bullying her, and this scene (4:44) its where the journey that ends with the loss of soojin begins. After that scene, miyeon and the boy rest together, not knowing whats in store for them. They wake up because of the sudden noises outside, The noises represend Seo shin ae, cube entertainment and the people who where against soojin. In 5:13 the boys represents soojin, as he tries to act like everything is fine to calm down minnie (aka the members) But the people looking at them represents social media, no one was on her side besides her members. In 5:23 the scene represents how soojin and her members tried time and time again, to take the matter to their own hands, since cube entertainment wasn't protecting soojin like their should. But there is nothing they can do anymore, since the media already was against them and since 2020-21 was a rough time of people randomly accusing idols of bullying scandals. Seo shin ae kept increasing the allegations. And Cube entertainment also turned their back on soojin. The men chased after soyeon and the boy, representing cube, seo shin ae and the media. In this scene the boy represents the members, trying to protect soojin even though there was nothing left to do. In 6:01 Yuqi let go of the boys hand and decides to stop, representing soojin who let go of IDLE trying to protect them. 6:17 represents the "Final game" Yuqi representing Soojin being surrounded by cube, Seo shin ae and social media, she is the eye of the "storm". The boy tries desperately to safe yuqi but gets captured by the men, this represents cube not letting idle say anything etc. Yuqi could have used her powers to hurt everyone but she didn't do anything, representing soojin giving up the fighting against the allegations to protect her members. After that shuhua disapears together with the man representing soojin deciding to leave the group so that her members could start over without scandals. In the very last second, the boys face blurs, representing the fact idle will never be the same again.
However, this is just a theory and shouldn't be taken serious its just a fun theory :D

This song so happened to be released the same month I got broken up with. Listening to the song the first time almost made me tear up but somehow I couldn't stop listening to it. I would say it was definitely healing for me and now this song has a special place in my heart

Agree! Such a beautiful song and both versions have a magical nostalgic vibe. I saw their concert in NYC around the same time as the NYC video was released last summer, so it brings back wonderful memories for me whenever I hear this song. I am a 50 year old man and I get teary-eyed every time.

Yes, 4 of the K/DA songs have music videos. 2 have I-dle and 1 with Twise as the vocalists and 1 with neither.
You might have issues doing a reaction video to "Pop-Stars" though, a company called "Atlantic Records have started claiming reaction videos to that song. I think the only way to safely react to that video is doing live version from the 2018 League of Legends opeing ceremony.
