I recently added this to my collection and I continuously find myself playing with him. His so chonk and simple. Mine doesn’t really have any QC issues and the doors open fully in car mode
I never even considered the Girwalk mode. Personally I enjoy this thing more than I thought I would, though I didn't think I'd enjoy it at all so that might be a factor.
Yeah always the creative guy this one lol. Nothing kills enjoyment of a toy more than expecting too much and nothing makes for an enjoyable toy better than underestimating it.
I have the g1 skids so this is a pretty cool update for it. I like my thrilling 30s skid too but he is the idw skids and not really the same guy lol. Good video as always!
Nice the more I play with him the more I like him I do think his chest should of been more round then squared! But over all he is a nice update & I love the G1 toys we are getting! I’m over the clear plastic!!
I am actually anxious to get my copy. And i hope i am lucky because of those issues of not pegging so well as vehicle mode. I was lucky with Tracks. I love the kingdom Tracks more then i can admit. SKids is just , something that got to me first sight. I mean this Legacy toy. The pegs area actually welcome for me for the amount of fun i have with fossilizers and weaponizers ... and now you gave some ideas :p
Poor Skids. I never thought much about him growing up during the G1 era. He was barely shown in the cartoon. All of his appearances amount to about 1 minute. He has an underdog appeal to him. If it were up to me, as an inside joke, in the G1 cartoon, I ALWAYS would’ve had Skids as the first Autobot shot and hurt whenever they fought the Decepticons while a fellow Autobot would yell “SKIDS, NO!!!” After the battle, you would then see him getting repaired by Wheeljack and Ratchet. He would be like Kenny from South Park; Getting hurt in every episode. BUT, in the 1986 Movie, Skids would have his redemption. The underdog SKIDS would be the one to receive the Autobot Matrix Of Leadership; not Hot Rod. The Autobot everyone had doubts about, would then end up as a great leader: Skiddimus Prime.
I knew a lad who had green skids.....he thought he had a bowel infection but it was just because he ate a lot of spinach. He's dead now. He was killed by a sailor.
I picked him up and wasn't expecting too much, but I was surprised that I actually enjoyed him quite a bit. Transformation is simple, but fun, and the colors and vehicle mode are smexy, though I don't like how the clear windshield reveals the hinges. Would have preferred if it was tinted.
I wonder if we’ll get a crosscut repaint? They gave us 3 versions of the skids mould in the MP line and have done a crosscut repaint in the 30’s line so hasbro could get a bit of mileage out of this figure and he’s good but like a neutral good, he’s does what skids needs to do and that’s it
Would it be wrong for me to hope they do a gen selects rotf paint deco just for Lols? Least he would be a bit more vibrant. I like the original figure just wish it had something more
I can't imagine, or rather I don't want to imagine, that people would want a Masterpiece of Skids* but I can tell you that he is an excellent Legacy figure, sure he's a bit boring, but it's not exactly like Brian spends every minute he isn't making videos hanging ten with The Devil and [INSERT COOL PERSON THAT YOUNGSTERS THINK IS MOST EXCELLENT HERE] on a surfboard made of cocaine whilst listening to obscure Turkish House records, smoking a doob and beating god at Backgammon (although Brian is probably having ten times the fun I do), so we can forgive the blue box on that count. ....but tbh, I want mad spaceships that turn into bastards, Mad Max style cars, and an Autobot called Spaceocron that turns into a dragster that is on fire or something, you know? I've seen cars...and aeroplanes, I can see a car and an aeroplane right now, ones in the sky and the other is on the car park (but why one would park so they have to reverse their F-17 Tomcat out of a cul-de-sac is beyond me), we have all seen the G1 cartoon, yes it was sort of okay, but some of us (including forty-something old bags like me) have actually moved on from being five, but unfathomably, yes, sSTILL like transforming toys or have returned to them in something akin to pandemic induced midlife crisis of some dull kind, but also are not staking their entire happiness on a very accurate version of whoever the fuck. It's done. We had the G1s, then Hasbro did Masterpieces and then they did Earthrise. Geewun is dun. Its done. Can we have something else please?....and no, not something else made to look like G1, I don't want an Energon or Prime figure that looks like G1 because that isn't either of the things is it? Legacy, Prime Arcee, what is she? Who is she?....... Even Netflix have said "No thanks, these cartoons are bollocks, the only thing we have made money on is MIB Soundwaves we kept back", but still, three hundred quids in pre-orders off me in one year, so who is the fucking idiot here? Not Hasbro. * Or indeed any Masterpiece....Its hard enough explaining to my friends (all two of them) why my mantlepiece has a bunch of Transforming robot dollies on it, but at least I can make their awful fucking children stfu for a bit by handing them one. You can't do that with a Masterpiece because the kid will either break it or maim themselves with it, so you are left trying to explain why you have spent a hundred and fifty plus DollarPounds on a toy children can't play with, it shouldn't be a weird moment but I bet it is. Probably like when my mum found my brothers dirty magazines and he had to explain to her and his da' what he was doing with them (he was twenty-eight years old).

My copy locks in perfectly, but I do have to put a lot of pressure on it to really get it to snap in place.

BTW the holes in the wheels are also 5mm ports (source: I have him)

Well we’re getting burnout (black diaclone skids) in the velocitron line so I really hope we get the other two as well
