    Agree with the display issue. I was able to workaround with by manually calibrating the colors using Windows built-in Display calibration. It had about 10-15% too much RED/GREEN. After lowering their faders, I was happy with the results
    PS: Im using the intel version, RTX 2060 version. Upgraded my RAM as well to 16GB and running an SSD

    • @kahelsoro

      @NaethanLenovo Legion has 2 SO DIMM slots, depending on your model, its either fully filled or not. For my case, I had a vacant one, hence I filled it up.
      If you hahve the budget, i'd suggest buting a paired RAM kit for optimal performance

    • @kahelsoro
      @kahelsoro 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @hanSOLO You might want to open that thing-up and clean them fans. I do it eveyr 3-4 months; and my laptop temps are fine. Lots of Lenovo Legion 5 teardown videos so your good. Just need a screw, and i would recommend a prying tool (or a guitar pick)

    • @kahelsoro
      @kahelsoro 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @hanSOLO Nice, FYR, my temps are in between 60-65 deg.C in quiet mode, while in performance, can reach up to 65-70 deg.C. Personally, i play my games in quiet mode; there's not much of a difference in terms of performance for my setup. I also run a GPU undervolt, which helps improve temps 1-2 deg.C

    Yeah I have a problem with the screen, I've had a lot of Lenovo Laptops but this screen is probably the worst among them. 120hz refresh means nothing as well when the response time is like 20-30ms so you get ghosting in high fps games like CSGO. Wish there was a way to upgrade to the LG 144hz screen with better response time and colour reproduction in India but I don't think those parts are available here.

    • @mirzaaaaaaa
      @mirzaaaaaaa  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was available earlier on lenovo's website (through customization), the stock might get updated in the future, though upgrading after purchase will probably be not possible.

    Thanks for the long term test.
    I have had not much luck with my Legion Y920-17IKB Laptop (Lenovo) - Type 80YW
    Already one month after receiving it had to go back. SSD crashed. Then got a worse version with a real bad old windows install, back. Another send, and then it took even longer because apparently the battery was defective...
    Then all was well. And 1 month after warranty another few crashes, and graphics card damaged...
    Eventhough i lost already time with the first few repairs, after warranty is after warranty, so it's now ready for trash.
    No matter how good the first impressions are for these machines, my trust is gone.

      Whoa, thats quite tragic. Something similar happened to me last year when my asus laptop's gpu got roasted. It was working fine one moment then just gone in the next. Tried everything from reinstalling drivers, different windows versions, reflowing gpu. Nothing worked. The funny thing is asus asked me to pay $700 (to replacing the MoBo) for repairing a 4 year old laptop.

    • @LadyRiderc
      @LadyRiderc 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mirzaaaaaaa well Lenovo didn't even want to repair it. They send me to a daughter company.... But i would need a new mobo too... Which wasn't even available.....
      I did even try an e-gpu casing with cars from a friend, but every time the drivers would get installed the bad card (gtx1070) blocked the install...
      Then again my old Asus, from 2014 that even fell from my bike on the street (while in my backpack) only got the usb ports damaged and a little crack in the screen casing still operates find.. So now I'm using that.
      I guess it can be an unlucky one but service of a company is very important in that regard....

    I'm a bit scared of the build quality here - to be more precise - the hinges. I had a Lenovo Y50 before and the laptop had severe hinge issues (so that is why I'm paranoid). Specs look great so I'm deciding between this and HP Omen. The only problem is that I need a new laptop asap due to work - and HP Omen is only available with i7 10750H and 2060 and Legion has Ryzen 7 5800H and 3060. I know that on paper it's a no-brainer, but if I'm going to have build quality issues I would rather have a bit of an older card and sleep normally at night since I cant really afford any downtime due to work.

    • @mirzaaaaaaa
      @mirzaaaaaaa  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Why do you have your battery on supercharging? That will destroy it.
    I have the same laptop with 2060, 16gb ram and SSD out of the box. Replaced the shitty screen while at the warranty since it started going (luckily) and got a brand new screen that's top notch. Everything else is pretty good, except few minor bugs like really rare updates for this processor. When updating the bios you need an external screen, when it's really bright outside you won't see much, battery wear is obvious, although I tried to preserve it and take care of it. It's about 90% or less, which I think it's a bit too much for a year. I have phones for 2,3 years and they easily hold the charges almost like first days. I never charge over 90 or under 20,, same with laptop. Few flaws, but generally it's a good machine and it makes me money ( Freelancer), so it paid itself off a few times over.

      Well, the ios and mac os are so well optimized to work together, windows cant match that anytime soon. Same with airpods. If you want a seamless experience and you need to frequently switch between devices. Like say, Using airpods with macbook but also want to attend to calls on the iPhone. Get the mac.
      But on the other hand, while you can technically play gta 5 on mac (dropping down graphics and resolution). I dont beleive it would be an enjoyable experience. If gaming is your priority and you don't need to have a smoother operation between devices, get a windows machine.

      MacBook is great for a lightweight laptop, M1 is pretty fast for the performance...
      but it's not really made for graphic demanding tasks...
      If you wanna game gaming laptop having dedicated GPU is altogether a different experience (windows is known for gaming) and build quality with cooling system is must...

    I just ordered a L5 RTX3070 over the L5P RTX3060 (Only those two models in my country). The L5 comes with a 165Hz 100%sRGB 300nits display, hopefully it isn't that bad. I choose this one over the L5P because of the 3070, seems like it will be more future proof and if the display is actually bad I guess could compensate with a monitor, while with L5P would be stuck with the 3060 forever. Both machines a beast from what I see, so guess can't go wrong with any.

    Did you really resolve the stuttering issues? The stuttering is driving me crazy tbh. For fps games even 0.1s of stuttering can ruin the experience, some games like bf5, ac: origins take up all the cpu(100% on 12 threads) and I get stuttering here and there, I'm not sure what's happening here the cpu is pretty good for handling these titles I think.
