🐕 PETS in Hospitals! The initiative that is Humanizing Health 🏥

◼️ Impressive! This initiative, not without controversy, is transforming the experience in hospitals and improving the emotional health of patients.
🏥 Imagine that you have a long-term hospital admission due to an illness, or that you get older and have to be admitted to a nursing home for the rest of your days, unavoidable situations that end up affecting many of us. Isn't it a gesture of as humane as possible to let in with you one of the most loved beings in your life?
◼️ In this video we have the testimony of Dr. Paula Calvo, who is the first PhD in Anthrozoology in Spain (which is the science that studies the human-animal bond) who tells us her vision and experience in this regard.
🐶 Pets in Hospitals are one of the most effective alternative therapies to improve the well-being of patients. Dogs in hospitals, for example, are one of the most used pets in this initiative to humanize health. Hospital Dog Therapy is a form of animal-assisted therapy that has proven to be highly beneficial to patients, both physically and emotionally.
◼️ But dogs aren't the only pets in hospitals that have a positive impact on patients. Cats in hospitals are also a popular option for this alternative therapy. Animal therapy in general has proven to be very effective in reducing stress and anxiety in hospitalized patients.

Hospital assistance dogs, for example, are a special type of dog that is trained to provide emotional and physical support to hospitalized patients. ¡Me encanta la idea! Sí apoyaría 100% la participación de animales. En el hospital donde estuve hospitalizado, hay gatos rondando donde los trabajadores se encariñan con ellos, y a veces los gatos entran a las salas durante la hora de comer jaja y cuando vi un gato, me emocioné muchísimo porque extrañaba mucho a mi gata. Desde ese día, me visitaba a diario y nos alegraba a las 08 personas que formábamos parte de la sala :)
