My mom & aunt went to go see this show on NYE 2003. She still raves about this portion to this day when anybody mentions Jamie Foxx. She was blown away that he could sing so well (This was before he dropped his first album)
He had a 94 album called Peep This, lol. The single "Infatuation" is amazing btw.

I’ve been watching your reactions for a long time now. I’m a huge fan of so many genres and you two do justice to everything you watch. With your honest reactions and (my favorite part) your break down and analysis of the lyrics. I’ve been hesitant to blow up the comments with song suggestions, but I’m so far down the rabbit hole with your videos that I think I want to start contributing to the channel. Huge fan guys. Also Jamie Foxx is a true generational talent. A guy that can make you laugh, cry, think and be amazed by his musical talent is rare.

I’m a pure rock and metal guy but Jamie Foxx is an astonishing guy, he’s so talented is almost disgusting lol, watched this section of that show so many times, even his snippets of singing on talk shows when he was dropping ‘in love by now’ were just incredible...what a voice !!

Thanks for reminding me of this. Great to hear you break it down like you did especially the R&B Brady Bunch references. I remember seeing this travelling in a hotel room at the time live on HBO. I was literally unable to breath I was laughing so hard. I was also one of those who didn't realize how multi-talented Jamie Foxx was. Later I bought The Foxx Boxx on dvd which has 3 of his specials including this one and love that I still own it. Probably going to go on a JF binge after this. Last, his bit on Africa is one of the greatest I have seen. 'Wimma Wimma Way Wimma Way....Ooh Na Na Na" LOL was a take on Ladysmith Black Mambazo which, due to their collab with Paul Simon, was often all that white America knew about African culture. It was so brilliant for Foxx to use that because for a brief time we all could laugh and enjoy his Africa experience together. Racial divisions melted and it remains glorious to this day. I hope everyone will watch the entire special. It is wonderful.

A guy I worked with is from Terrell, Texas where Jamie grew up. My friend's mom, who was one of Jamie's teachers when he was in school, said that he had a phenomenal voice back when he was kid. She always thought he would become a famous singer but she was amazed at how he became an all around talent. I think he's an incredible singer among other things. Great review guys. My favorite is Jaime Foxx performance on his special Foxxhole back in the 90's. Funny and soooooo multi-talented. Also his In Living Color Christmas performance.
This whole special is pretty underrated. Loved the bit where he went to Africa, talking about the lion. "You scared?" lol
Even Ray Charles said that his voice was so spot on that he couldn't tell Jamie's recording from his own. And he had some VERY keen ears for details.
