These are by far my favourite hot weather boots. I have several pairs. The get dry so fast, incredibly comfortable while at the same time giving the armour that one wants on long hikes. I do sometimes combine them with Sealskinz socks that are completely waterproof. Thereby it is much easier to dry the boots and the socks separately. You keep your feet dry when walking in muddy and wet jungle conditions while at the same time you can dry your boots very fast to use them the next day in dryer condition with normal socks.
So savage he had to take the boot off for the review. That’s what’s up. Love it man thanks! Was gonna get these for my last winter in Cleveland but I guess I’ll save them till I move to Arizona.
Ah finally a review of these boots. I just got a pair of these, and found it SUPER stiff, especially the upper part. It's so stiff that it feels like wearing wooden boots, making my feet sore quite fast with multiple hotspots and pressure points. Now that you have mentioned that it takes a while to break them in, I guess I'll just have to bear with it for a while. Thanks
I love Salomon's and I am surprised I never bought the jungle versions. I have always used a brand x tactical boot. I just recently purchased some Salomon ultras for trail running and they are too nice to muck up lol. I put my quest 4d through the ringer and they are my favorite cold weather boot now. I plan to purchase the new jungle force versions. for hot weather. Salomons work great if you have plantar fas/ and secure your foot in place to prevent sloppiness. They do require a little break in. appreciate the review.
awesome review I have worn these during all of my rainforest research in Madagascar. This boot is 100% the real deal. Malaysian special forces operators often purchase these boots for themselves. Worth the cash. Cheers
JG Harts I try to find online shops that have free shipping so I can try two sizes and return the ones that didn’t fit. However, in MY experience, being 9.5 or 10 depending on fit, I’m a 9.5 in these.
@@Honest-Review, Thank you. Because of your review, I just ordered the Salomon Ultras. I live and hike in Florida and these look great. The Beluga color was $69.00 on sale plus they had a 10% Coupon as well!
Looking for a boot to wear in Africa in 40-50 °C. What do you think about the breathability in this boot? The ventilating features are for me more important then water resistance as you might imagine ;)
Ouff that’s hot! I’ve used these in 35C with high humidity with no problem. But I would look at the Salomon guardian, they have a lighter leather and would probably be better for that environment.
Hey Brandon! So, most Jungle boots don’t have an ankle support per se, but more so a reinforced area around the ankle. Being canvas/cordura in most cases, is hard to have a solid structure. I find that these with the leather and sensifit provide with a great support “for a jungle boot”
working in the deep tropical jungle, one will know its really difficult to really dry your shoes esp with this kind of boots..i always noticed that the glue part on the sole will start to wear off really fast (in just a few days). i really recommended have the sole stitched (any shoe repair shop can do this) if you want your expensive boots to last longer in the harsh tropical jungle.
Amen. This was my go-to boot, rotating two pairs and purchasing a total of six. Have been looking for a suitable replacement since wearing out my last two pair.

Daniel Berlin can you post that socks you use? A link to the product?

Amazing overview and brilliant presentation on the product, as well as the specific item details! Thanks!
Thanks man! I’m going to Borneo soon and I can’t wait to try these

Thanks for the review..
Can’t find these boots in the U.S market anymore. Anyone know where I can find them?
Right on review from what I have read so far. How is the sizing? If you wear a size 11, then should you get size 11 or 11.5??
Thanks!

Antonio Tovar Thanks! Much appreciated. Enjoy your day!
Did the size 11.5 work? I’m going to Colombia in Bucaramanga jungle humid area so I’m hoping to get some ASAP
Are those Made in China? Are the going to fall apart on me after 3 months?
Is this resolale ?
Great video. You don't see many or any reviews on this boot. I think they also discontinued it?
They are still available to purchase online
@@Honest-Review true but they are getting harder and hardee to find. In 10.5 is almost impossible but luckily I did and bought 2 pair
Great pair of boots! How is the sole stiffness compared to the 4d quests?
The 4D is worse in my experience
Do you prefer these to the Go Ruck boot?
Avi Ratica yes. 100% would buy these before the MACV-1’s

so honest. such a gift
Mate Hands thank you!
ehere is it made
The design seems all right, but the fact that the sole isn't stitched on is a bit disconcerting.
Salomon boots do not have stitched soles, I never had any boot from them with issues on this regard

@@macwagubogged9890 Thank you for your input!
These boot run narrow imo. i bought some a year ago and they just sit.
right!
It's a shame salomon stop making them

They're back
