This was at the end of the lockdown, since then the world and its cousin have come here on holiday, so Cornwall is now back to its usual summer bursting at the seams! I'm a Cornishman, born, bred and lived here all my life, which is nearly 70 years - normally from Easter on, it's impossible to find anywhere near the sea that's not absolutely crawling with holidaymakers - so these scenes were truly a once in a lifetime event and will probably never be witnessed again.
Haven't seen your channel before, it's so nice to see someone being genuinely happy on the Internet! Not to mention a great advert for me to set off for a long ride. Thanks dudio
I was so jealous watching this one. Just hop on a trail and go. I miss visiting the UK. Not many trains in Canada. More stories like this I can definitely watch. Thanks.
I just started riding more and its often by myself which I dont mind since I go where I want and at my pace. Seeing you doing solo bckpacking is really inspiring to try it out someday. Very glad I found your channel. Thanks for great videos!
I've just finished a 4 day bikepacking trip from South Wales to The Lake District. My first multi day ride and I loved it. It was hard going sometimes but it's an amazing feeling of freedom travelling with all you need on your bike. Cant wait for the next one now 🙂
Absolutely brilliant vlog Juliet, I’ve literally got my first bike packing tent yesterday and gathering all the bits I need for an epic adventure. Thanks for being such an inspiration 🤗👍🏻😀
Just watched the movie, “Fisherman’s Friends”. Took place in Cornwall. Lovely place, lovely lady, living the wonderful simple pleasures of the riding life. I can’t wait to get out of the USA to ride England. Look forward to more great rides and adventures.
Beautiful ride in my favorite country. I must say, I can't wait until we can visit from the States. Looking forward to some great scenery and fish and chips.
Even if you don't end up using the tent, it's still the option that gives that sense of freedom. So much adventure one can have on a two day trip, highly underrated. Being bold & asking for a camping spot on peoples property can be surprisingly good fun.
You have just been cycling where I live to where I grew up and where I ride my bike so much! 💕💕💕 it’s so lovely to see someone as amazing as you riding the same places, although probably a lot faster than I could 😂
Cornwall is highly underrated for travel. I remember my college days in and around Penzance. Porthcurno Beach is probably THE BEST in all of the UK :-)
Agreed. Many good nights in Penzance. I was there in the early 90s. Barn Club, Club Zero, Winter Garden. Burger's and chips at Wimpy when it's all done.
Nice scenic ride. Biking through the small town and seeing the town’s port area had a nice personal touch. Always impressed when you take one hand off the handlebars to do moving bikes selfie‘s. I believe at one point you were no hands. Many years ago I could take my hands off the handlebars and do fine. Now, if I did so I am confident I would immediately crash.
Can only echo your thoughts on lugging gear around. I just completed a x2 day trip round Dorset border. Wild camped near golden cap. Used stove once, but hey it was great to get out and speak to cows again. Love the vlog. Well done.
Good for you, Juliet. You've reminded me of a camping trip I did on a fixie across Dorset, Devon and Cornwall, back in the early 60s. I was loaded up with a tent, etc. on the handlebars, a saddlebag, things strapped to the top of the saddlebag, and panniers. On the climb out of Polperro, passengers were sticking their heads out of car windows, shouting encouragement. From across the pond, I do miss the Cornish pasties and clotted cream.
@@JulietElliottsChannel At least you can get a Devonshire cream tea. :-)) A supermarket here sells clotted cream under the "Devonshire Cream" label, but I've heard that it's not like the real thing. Maybe it's like Guinness - tastes fantastic in Ireland, but not so good elsewhere.
What a great video. It's looks lovely there. Cornwall tourist board will be pleased at your showing off their county. Also, really liked the music! Good vibe, thank you!
I could watch this episode over and over again. It makes me want to travel to Cornwall by bike, too. Thank you for providing such positive content. I am always in a good mood after watching one of your videos :)
I loved your adventure! Your scenery was beautiful! You have been so helpful in my new love of biking! Thank you! I’m going to plan a bike trip to San Francisco soon! All of your tips will serve to be quite useful.
I just moved to North Devon and I CAN NOT get over how much great riding there is here! Definitely going to be arranging some trips when my new bike's built.
Brilliant love the make it up as you go attitude. Who needs over planning. Thanks for the inspiration. Just comp!eyed first bikepacking mini trip with my teen following same principle. Learned hard way always carry share inner tube. Had a sp!it at value....saved me from continuing and getting nail.ed by thunderstorms...silver lining
Really enjoyable video. Thanks for sharing. Cornwall is beautiful and you portrayed it as such. I remember spending 2 weeks there in June years ago and had to put the heating on almost every day, so I understand your dress code!
I live in Cornwall, I’ve just bought a mountain bike ( my son’s influence on me!!) as I need to get more fit. I love the Camel trail, there are many trails to go on too which I’m looking forward to doing. Love your bike. You have encouraged me more to do this. ❤
Awesome, that beach after Veryan was where I had lunch on the first day of my first ever tour! And I remember being amazed by the colour of that sea too after dropping down the hill. Wows all the way :-D great video!
Just come back from bikepacking in the pyrenees. Started off with a fixed route and then blew all to the wind..just went where I fancied on that day..tbe best way. Would love to do cornwall when we can travel more freely...I live in Spain, so wasn't far from home, but Cornwall looks more relaxing as far as hills go!
So I did some hunting and it appears the first town you highlighted was Portmellon Cove? Absolutely the most charming and appealing location. My wife and I have added a trip to England to our bucket list and that is exactly the type of scenery we want to explore and enjoy. Thanks so much for sharing this with us! And I agree about sharing the video with the tourism folks. I think I've suggested that before.
Sitting here sweating like a hog, half-naked in Italy watching your video. A horrible sight (me, not the video). Flying to the UK in five days time to do some bike packing. You can't imagine how great it made me feel seeing you standing at the campsite with a puff jacket on. Bring on the cold.
I did a bike bivvy tour of Cornwall in June, before the end of lockdown 🙈🙉🙊..... and I loved it for the same reason, no bloody tourist ruining it 🤣 I slept in a hut next to the sea in minehead, I wasn't aware of the immediate climb over exmoor the next morning... good job or I'd have lost sleep. Got my biggest climb on strava that day 445 meters, full camping gear. Good memories Good vid👌 Go Scotland next... camp anywhere, and its beautiful
You made me want to visit Cornwall! Extraordinary looking nooks here and there, quaint waterfront and undisturbed sea; Glad to know you had a good time 🏞⛵
Hello Juliet, greeting from Argentina....beautyful places...Nice day and a half trip....I´ll do that too in spring or summer this year, to see what it feels. Keep on travelling and share the videos with us. Kiss.
Love the lack of planning. Some people freak out if they don't have a timetable or itinerary. Great little trip.

A lovely video. I just adore the 'go where the mood takes me' carefree approach.

Great fun going where the wind lifts you. I love following the open road with the freedom of no restraints. This is a true adventure. ♡
Well said!

Ah, Cornwall. The ancestral homeland. Beautiful scenery and another great video!
that was so nice and relaxing. Thank YOU for taking us on your adventure!
Beautiful ride in my favorite country. I must say, I can't wait until we can visit from the States. Looking forward to some great scenery and fish and chips.
What a fun video thanks for posting it enjoyed the scenery. Cheers for cycling there's nothing like it.

Very enjoyable. Nice scenery. Thank you so much-you cheer things up a lot. Bright Moments!

Had to watch again. The color of the sea and the small harbors are so so awesome!
wow not often you see a bike trip like this. Great to share the freedom.
this bickepacking series is so much mor fun to watch than all the fixi vids. Im back, watching you flicks! tnx!
Wow! That is gorgeous coastline and pretty villages, too!
"Eat, ride, beer, Freeeeedom!" great motto.
Good enough to put on a T-shirt!
@CouchToCafe me too!!! 😂
Cornwall is highly underrated for travel. I remember my college days in and around Penzance. Porthcurno Beach is probably THE BEST in all of the UK :-)
Many a good nighout in the 90s in Penzance. Locals were a bit like you.or don't like you. Beaches are nice

@@iup247 The club.up the top of the main street I used to go to, had two levels. Was a bike shop a lane back from the main street.
Well sadly they're all long gone. Yoof don't have anywhere to go out at night.
This looks like lovely countryside and terrain!
Perfect! The freedom and joy of random adventure cycling. You do your ‘thing’ well.

I love starting bikepacking trips with the train. Makes it so much better especially when you don't have to drive. Cool video.
Really enjoy your posts, only got into cycling last 6months, now become my new obssesion ❤️

I should have had a cream tea, that was a real oversight!

Love your zest for life! Great video!
Very enjoyable and exhilerating trip with you in ol blighty, feel quite relaxed now. Thanks fellow traveler.
Had I known about gravel bikes and bike packing ten years ago, I would have never left the UK and went back to Poland... Awesome...
What a great video. It's looks lovely there. Cornwall tourist board will be pleased at your showing off their county. Also, really liked the music! Good vibe, thank you!
I really enjoyed this video. The scenery and all of the beautiful colors! Thank you so much really made my evening.

We rode that Devoran to Portreath gravel route on Bromptons last year. A bit sketchy in places, but all rideable. And rode back again...
Love the nomadic style of this video
Port Gaverne camp site is the one, no dual carriageway, just chickens and the local pub by the beach. Great stuff 🙂
Great watch...great attitude...makes me want to get a trip planned.... thanks for sharing, Juliet👌💯

Beautiful scenario! Thank you for sharing, made my morning!
thanks for taking us along on your vacation!
10:24... had breakfast there... had set the tent up in the dunes the night before, moved in the middle of the night as there was a thunderstorm.
Greetings from Atlanta USA. Loved the video. Gorgeous scenery. Nice gravel path. I may need to come visit Cornwall when this annoying virus goes away.
What a nice route and places you visited. I wish we also had such routes here.
That's it!!! I am swapping to Zipp's for gravel/adventure!!!!
Wonderful, wonderful vid Juliet!
Nice call Alan...same in NJ. All those people would make me nervous too Juliet. So jealous of your holiday getaway. 😁

Go Scotland next... camp anywhere, and its beautiful
Awesomeness Juliet, I'm out this afternoon. Going to get my bike ride in today! 🤙
Loved it as always .
In my day getting lost was part of the fun, throw away the satnav pish it just makes you dependent and stifles the sense of adventure.
Beautiful part of the country
First stop looked like Mevagissey second with the blue water Port Mellon and may be Gorran Haven with the hotel
What beautiful country to ride in. Im in flat boring Florida but make the best of it. Love your videos..
Great videos! Thanks for including info about your gear and gadgets
enjoyed the journey thanks we are also avoiding large groups.Hope you and family stay safe.🇨🇦🚲
Thanx for the tour. Beautifull
