That run through the zero-g mission was very impressive. I found that mission much more difficult. I guess your tech was pretty well suited and just fast enough. With a purpose-built hovercraft I was hoverever able to beat the mission with over 1 minute left.
Unfortunately, my save where I was ahead of you but one of the venture missions that you need to get reticule research, the bridge one, broke. So now a new save. Very sad :(
According to the description for one of the race tracks in the r&d labs some of their funding comes from venture, Suzie commissioned it as a demo of their deployable race track tech

Maybe try the tesla coils on an aircraft. That way you don't have to worry about unwanted firing due to small enemies getting in range. Hard to stay in range with a plane soo... teslacopter? Oooorrrrr... zeppelin. Linear motion engine for flight and sky anchors for parking. Add top hat for 100% steampunk.
I could see some giga plasma missions being done, perhaps you could retrieve it from a crashed starship (since the description talks of that) or it being used as a turret for an obstacle course - you can try taking the damage or go a long way. The vibro blades might work similarly for that, though I don't know that the missiles would be fun to fight - perhaps they could get similar treatment as the sonic blaster did.
Lathrix: Lets add a power switch so i won't waste battery power because recharging is a pain. Also Lathrix: Lets only use it once.. :D /edit: Both pronunciations of Tesla is correct. It is as you say a regional thing.
If the tesla coils are able to attack anything in that radius without having to turn then you might be able to circle techs while blasting them with lightning, I accidentally made a drift bike that circles things very effectively, I imagine something like that might be effective
Agreed - over far too early. That time limit on the last one is a real bitch if you try & bully though it though, ended up building a heavy hover on the spot for it. Love the tesla coils, got them on a Geo harvester - doesn't even notice the power drain, but then it's Geo. Just a happy "donk" noise & a shower of parts :p can't wait for more Reticule ( altho I hope they fix the what, 2 year old fabricator stall bug before anything else because it just puts you off playing after the missions are done ). Pillar biome is really nice for bases, can throw turrets on the pillars. Music is really relaxing too. Edit: did some testing, a coil seems to use one pip of a small Geocorp battery per shot. Ouch. Looks like bare minimum is something like one GSO battery & four GSO solar panels ( maybe a bit more, didn't do timing properly, definitely more if you want to keep shields/bubble up - more like 4 BF ones then ). Fun to put one on a hover & use the sky anchor to make it a turret.
Getting some serious Red Alert 2 vibes from that Tesla coil. Btw wouldnt it be hilarious if a flyer would have thoose Tesla coils. Just fly over them really low and smashing them with lightning.
I feel like the "tip of the hat" at the end should be a normal thing moving forward. It's a small thing, but it adds a bit of charm to the end of the episode.
Lath plz check if normal wood generates more energy in the plasma furnace over the normal furnace, cause if it's the same you might wanna filter it out and get a mobile furnace for wood and use the plasma furnace for the other resources
Well. If they (ever) get this on switch, its probably gonna be impossible to use the tesla coil in a build if you probably need to make something large. Because of the block limit.
I didn't know that green crystals give more power, now I may consider changing my tech to have a plasma furnace with green crystals instead of just using Fibron chunks.

I've done a bit of testing with the tesla coil and it seems that one shot from the coil cost about 1 GSO battery.
Use the teslacoil as turret for the base course it's doesn't has t aim at first!
