Bloody roar was the sickest underappreciated game of all time I know for a fact in a alternate universe this game is bumpin heads with the best of them
I love this game so much! It't the only game to have a mechnic better than Just Defense. Tap block at the same timing as an attack, and you get a full dodge! Dodge animation changes per limb too. More games need such a cool concept. =D
I remember getting this game for the GameCube back when it had first come out. Also remember seeing the first bloody roar as an arcade at a go kart place when I was but a wee lad. Many of the characters in primal fury were a lot of fun to play with, but Uriko, Shina, and Stun were the ones I played most often with. The concept of Stun was just so cool to me and reminded me of Beetle Borgs but more badass.
Stun in a grappler with so many throws and multi throws, here he is shown just punching! I hope there is a part 2 where you guys learn the moves. Normally I learn loads from watching Max and the gang play games, this one is a game I actually know inside out!
No. 1: Konami has never made a BR game, they only published 4. They absorbed Hudson and all of their properties in 2012. 2. 8ing/Eighting, the developer of BR aren't defunct, so it wouldn't be impossible for them to make a new one assuming that they still have the assets and original BR engine. Sidenote: Bloody Roar 4 was shit compared to every other entry prior because they used renderware as an engine, sacrificing the gameplay (or breaking it rather), for the sake of better visuals since the renderware engine was good for PS2 texture work. Namco or Koei Tecmo, whoever isn't 8ing, does not need to touch BR. I'd rather it stay gone than have it be worked on by people that don't have the resources for Bloody Roar, or doesn't have a great understanding of Bloody Roar's gameplay.

@@destructo3457 BR4 was pretty flagrantly unfinished while also trying to do some new things like replacing crouching with an 8-way run (which in turn cut out a chunk of the moveset). It also had massive framerate issues which is a big no-no for fighters. But the biggest issue was the weird Beast Meter. Basically your Beast and Health meters are linked. As you fight as a human it quickly fills your Beast meter and as you fight as a Beast it refills your Health meter, but as long as you have ANY Beast meter you can Beastorize. So basically go Beast Mode right at the start and every time you're knocked out of it just press it again. It's a mess. A mess I still had some fun with because I love the world and characters and bad voice acting (BR4 was extra British!)...but it was a mess.
I used to play this game to DEATH!! I wish they made another one. Awesome combo system and an move dodging system if you timed your defenses to your opponents attacks!
With so many great FGs being reborn these past few years it is a shame Konami isn't interested at all in making a Bloody Roar comeback... I want it so bad...
It's a fantastic game. I played a lot as busushima and stun and had a heck of a time fighting Uranus. My friend played Xion and beat Uranus using his better reach in beast form.
I love this game! I have more fond memories of the ps1 Bloody Roar! I wish it would be remastered in some form or fashion! I feel like i put so much time into learning all the combos and couldnt figure out a one move that alice does and shown in the credit sequence in ps1 BR
Primal Fury is one of the decent ones! It's kind of slept on unlike "2" but it's pretty fun unlike "4"! Shina's grey leopard palette looks real sick tho! P.S. So, it's somehow an Activision game?
im glad they didn't play the terrible 4th bloody roar to bad they didn't look into the moves before the stream each character has a move that grants armour but has a big recover frame and wind up its when they glow green 12:30 and when u hear the ching sound effect of a move u can cancel and fake it into another move ie a faint. also something i didn't know back then was that when using ur special if u did by input instead of the quick input by pressing l2 or r2 ur special does more damage.
