To help you out with that, whatever that was left of Shara (at least assume it to be since she talks to you during the fight) chucks out 3 of the 7 world rings to sonic that he then absorbs which is basically the Arabian knights version of the chaos emeralds. Those world rings being prayers, sadness, rage, hatred, joy, pleasure, and wishes. The world rings that sonic absorbed was sadness, rage, and hatred thus triggering the dark spine sonic transformation.

Silver wasn't in the game fr, Chromo Silver is from the forces mobile game.
Also Darkspine Sonic got his form from these rings : Sadness, Rage, and Hatred

Silver actually was in the game, BUT he was exclusively in the multiplayer mode.
It’s kind of a shame the awesome design wasn’t used more.
