No, you cannot force a 1080p TV to display a higher resolution than 1080p, even if you plug a 4k out device into it, it will only display 1080p. Most 4K TVs don't even have a 4k input, so they take the 4k device and accept 1080p and try to upscale it. If you do buy a 4k tv, make sure it has a 4k HDMI input.

This thing kind pf sucks! It wants to stay in kbps and freezes up alot and can be very frustrating
