The featherbed Norton, was said to steer like it was on rails, which it did, but this made it difficult to change direction through a series of short bends. I replaced the original rear suspension units with BSA units, which where about 1 3/4 inches longer. This increased the angle of the front forks to the road slightly, but made the steering much quicker, without loss of its directional stability. .
