Thanks for uploading. During my university years, I had spent many days, months, and later throughout the years socked in this very museum which inspired me to visited the British Museum, Musée du Louvre, Musei Vaticani, and the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. Great job~!
We took our daughters to the Louvre when they were small. My five year old kept walking up to pictures saying “ that’s a Michelangelo, that’s a Donatello, that’s a Leonardo”. The French people looked at her as if she was some kind of prodigy. I was kind of muttering, “it’s turtles”. Her kindergarten teacher was really into Renaissance art and used the teenaged mutant ninja turtles to impart her love of it to her small students. One morning, they came into class to find paper taped to the underside of their desks. They had to lie on the floor and pretend they were Michelangelo painting the ceiling of the Sistine chapel.

Really wonderful. Enjoyed this walk a lot, have always wanted to revisit the Met, this allowed me to do this in more detail that I had done in person 🙂. If I may make a suggestion for any future museum walks, if you can show the room number or name when you are entering it and pause there for a second or two, it will be very helpful for those of us tracing the route on a map. Thank you for this awesome video, and keep them coming.

Wonderful tour in a museum i wont be able to walk around, The Met has also some Van Gogh's i noticed with one of his most famous self portraits. Also the armor of Henry 8 is interesting, and the 4 horses with men in armor and the impeccable chain mail coats and all the statues are amazing. I noticed you had a guide or was he a body guard from the museum? You are not working in the Met yourself?

Perhaps someday they implement a ‘whisper only’ policy. Wouldn’t that be better? What does everyone think? I live in Japan. They’re really quiet and it’s nice.
Ah yes, a place I know well having worked there for 1.5 years, both day and night shifts. I just wanted to point out some of the over 400 gallery rooms that you missed in your quick walk. 1) The 3rd floor of the American Wing, which is when you walk inside the facade of the 2nd U.S. National Bank, the precursor to the Federal Reserve. It was killed by President Andrew Jackson in the 1830's. The main thing on this level is the absolutely huge painting of General Washington crossing the Delaware River with his men. I really don't know how they got this in the building. 2) The Music Wing: The original precursor to the piano and other musical instruments of yesteryear can be found here. 3) The Lower Level: I think this is textiles. And there's always plenty of Special Exhibits going on. But I will say there are 17 different Curatorial departments, so it's hard to go to everything in an hour. Great job!

I lived in NYC back when I was in college. I loved both the Metropolitan and MOMA. I love the Chicago Museum of Art and the Getty but my all time favourite is the Detroit Institute of Art. I could look at the Diego Rivera murals for hours. I love the impressionists. I used to spend hours wandering it before it opened. My dad used to tape a radio show there donkey’s years ago.
I lived in Paris for many years which has the greatest number of museums (and bookshops)in the world. Two of the best are the Louvre, on the banks of the river Seine home of the Mona Lisa as everyone knows but also the famed "Winged Victory of Samothrace" from antiquity and works by Michaelangelo, and Raphael among numerous other classics. Musee d'Orsay on the opposite bank of the Seine has a great collection of Modernist works including Van Goghs, Monet and Manet (don't confuse these two) amid Impressionism in general. I should mention that the French and Americans have had a great relationship since our revolution that they supported. Please get to BEAUTIFUL Paris as soon as you can, you will never regret it!
If you get a chance, read Patrick Bringley's book, "All the Beauty in the World". He was a Security Guard at the Met for 10 years, and wrote about it 🙂

Er, new to your channel, noticed your Venice tours. 57:04 orginal Met museum exterior wall (see Michael Wyetzner, AD, Met talk online). A museum within a museum. Read Henry VIII kept outgrowing his armor. Gypsy lady painting was interesting, not as much as 39:39 (not the guy on staircase :) Thanks again, saved me the thirty-five dollar admission. P.s. 1:14 top of entrance column pedestals are just huge stones, not sculptures as intended, as placeholders since the building funds ran out. (o.k., enough already)
