Unless I somehow overlooked it, the suspension seat-post wasn't really mentioned. I have a Model S and I wanted to save some money and also went with the solid fork rather than the suspension fork... but I did get the suspension seat-post and that really helps with bumps alot. Probably not as good as a suspension fork would but I've hit a number of bumps/potholes that would have been a lot worse without that seat-post. I also recommend fenders and a chain guard. I also went with the single-speed option over the 7-speed w/derailer. I just like the simplicity where I don't have to worry about what gear I'm in and constantly shifting. Sure, it is a little harder to start from a dead stop, but tapping the throttle for just a second makes that a breeze.
The eBike I had before my EBC Model S was a Giant LaFree E+1 and while it had a few nicer design elements (belt-drive and mid-drive motor), I really like the EBC bike better. The EBC cruiser handle bars did take a little getting used to but after a week or two, I think switching back would also be a challege.
I will hit 1,400 miles on it on my ride home from work today and I haven't had a single problem with the EBC bike. I hope to do a rider's review maybe after I hit 2,000 miles... which will most likely be before the summer is over.
As to your question, "Why would you choose an EBC Model E over another brand?" question... I didn't choose the Model E because I liked the Model S better... but I picked EBC after watching a lot of reviews, tours of their factory(s), and checking out their site. While the paint cusomization is nice, as is the ability change various parts (fenders, no-fenders, etc) is amazing... I also like their warranty and the available pieces and parts for sale on their site. I tried to get a second charger for the Giant from an authorized dealer and they were never able to get me one for whatever reason. The only thing I wish I could get from EBC is that larger headlight that is stock on the Model E. They don't seem to sell that separately yet. I did spring for the rapid charger though.. as the Model S has a slower charger built-in.

I wish the thorough reviewer will give us also understanding about his custom model E major choices, no $199 front suspension fork option, but $99 addition of &00mm full suspension seat post s standard 300mm seat post on this model? Also there is a 2024 new customization option of picking 24” wheels (w/ both 2” and 3” wide tires) w/ model E. Later model even with a few custom additions picked as 7-gear addition, front suspension fork and suspension seat post could be still cheaper than the model R.
The main question remains without any expert video review clarification which custom paid addition to add for model E which make sense for the general biking public and which not. And still keep the model E cheaper than model R, since the devil is almost always in the details in everything we do in life. A lot of EBC customization options require more added description, especially for taller riders, like the following custom options: handlebar type, seat post length depends of the option picked, adjustable angle handlebar stem how can help taller riders along withe previous option mentioned to have a proper rider position.
Therefore have a proper leg extension when pedaling, i.e., slightly bend leg in the knee when the pedal is in the lowest down position. These are the type of video discussions more helpful than usual listings of product description already done by the company website. We the customer want exactly that when following with expert e-bike channel video reviews. Thanks!

Retro style 1950s is nice. Nothing wrong with that bike.. Maybe they should make a "Springer" front suspension bike, with an ornamental built into the frame style rear light.. Instead of some cheap mounted generic one. More like rear lights and blinkers on an Aventon Adventure 2 would be nice.

Is there a bike made and assembled in the USA.

  • @AdamGoodson

Is the motor a 750 watt motor or a 500 watt motor? The website is saying that it is 750

  • @chrishogenesch9130

So you would say the power is adequate, given the 500 watt motor? Thanks for the review!

We'd say so. It's more on the mild-side of the spectrum when it comes to acceleration, but you can still get up to good speeds and have enough help on hills to enjoy the ride.

It would be keen if USA was capable of designing and building all components assembled into a product to ride on.

    • @cal4625
      @cal4625 ปีที่แล้ว

Yea I"m sure that would be 'keen' but the bike would probably retail at about $10k.

Geez.... how much were you paid for this review? The bias is so strong you can taste it. The bike is a mediocre performer, with dismal brake performance and mediocre range. It has clearly been cheapened with no derailleur, no suspension fork, no fenders, no carrier and only a 12 AH battery... yet it is priced way above the low cost arena. Electric Bike Reports needs to provide unbiased and factual videos.... c'mon... the brake performance was dismal... please do not make excuses for crap rather than tell it like it is.

You can add a front suspension fork and fenders.

These bikes are so overrated, however their paint jobs are exceptional. BTW the battery is not made by Samsung, it has Samsung cells.

2,200 miles on my Model E in 2.5 years. Single speed. A few minor hiccups on finding replacement brake pads but other than that, nothing has failed that wasn't due to me having mishaps. The motor and battery have been flawless and still work as it did on day one. I'm on the heavier side and no problem of getting up to speed quickly.
