Hi Imogen, did you notice any of the campgrounds on the way to Lake Tali Karng? I don't want to camp at the lake but I have heard there are campgrounds along the river section, are any of them good for a few tents?
    Glad I found your TH-cam page 😊

Great video. However i didn't think camping at the lake was permitted. None the less a beautiful place, one of Victoria's best hikes

My thoughts exactly- no camping by the lake

You are correct, camping at the lake is no longer permitted. It is a sacred site of the Gunai-Kurnai people. However, you may visit. I got this info off the Parks website, so dont take my word for it.

Do you have to book the camp site?

Hey Imogen, great video! Looking at doing this in December. Are there many camps near the lake? Cheers, Dan.

If you come in from McFarlane’s Saddle, you can camp at Riggalls old hut site, and walk down to the lake via Gillio’s Track. Alternatively, come in via Wellington River, camping at the base of Riggalls and walk in via Valley of Destruction as a day hike.

Awesome video! Do you attempt to dry your shoes, or just deal with it?

Thank you!!!! Haha I just dealt with it because as soon as you try and dry them there is another creek 😅

Hi Imogen do you change your socks after river crossings? I'm curious how you prevent blisters on hot days with river crossings. Insight would be great thanks 😊

What I’ve found to work for me is wearing trail runners and good quality hiking socks that prevent blisters also before hand I put a barrier cream on my feet to reduce moisture. Also always take blíster pads for just in case Personal experience using hiking boots I’ve always ended up with blisters when getting wet ahah
