No clickbait here, folks!!! Here is another *long instructional video!!* It is long, since it is full of information. The video is divided in three parts: (1) Theory/Science 3:13; (2) Setup 10:43; and (3) Fishing 15:43. Please note that when making these instructional videos, I try to adapt it to the *GENERAL PUBLIC.* In other words, I generalize it as much as possible!!! The setup behind this video will work for the smallest sizes of Panfish out there, and the theory is explained so that most kids can understand it. Please make sure to combine the knowledge in this video with your personal experiences to adapt it to your local bodies of water! Hope you all are catching some fish out there! *Tight lines and FISH ON!* P.s. sorry for the camera shaking! It was windy out there. :)

Why do you go way over in bobber size. You don't use a bobber built for something about a pound to catch something that is lighter than the bobber itself. You even said in a video about one to two years ago that your bobber should just barely be big enough that it can't fit in their mouth.
Thomas Starkey I agree I'd like to to read on multi species even non game fish all year round cause I personally love catching fall fish and redhorse supposively they bite good in colder months
Leo before I even watch this video I can honestly say that following your fishing journey on youtube and snapchat I have caught more fish in 2017 than I have in all my other years fishing. I've been out fishing more often, tried new baits, techniques, locations, hunted new species, and even found a new fishing buddy. I've learned how to fish smaller baits in locations I never would have thought to throw a lure. I never would have thought I could land 30+ fish in one day because I often struggled to catch one fish a week but from your teachings I have been able to achieve the unthinkable. For all you have done and continue to do I thank you.
Extreme Philly Fishing Endothermic means ABLE to generate own internal heat. Ectothermic means UNABLE to generate own internal heat. Also wanted to tell you that my mother’s Chemotherapy wasn’t working so they started her on Keytruda which normally isn’t used for Colon cancer but recently has been approved and it really has made a difference! All of the prayers seem to be working so please KEEP THEM UP guys please! My mother and I watch your videos during her treatments , they always provide an escape for her and she always says,” Leo is so passionate about angling, he knows all aspects of angling and he makes fishing seem exciting and interesting. “ She also says that it’s good to see a TH-camr be themselves and not a persona! Leo! I feel like you are apologetic for including educational content but its outstanding! Your fish knowledge is what separates this channel from others. No one else includes this kind of content is beneficial to the viewer in the way yours is. Keep it up man great video.
I've really come to enjoy your videos. You earned my subscription over time. What did it for me was your enthusiasm and love for what you're doing. It's clear that this is a passion of yours. You seem like a genuinely nice person too. Keep doing what you do - I'm watching!
Thanks leo love these educational videos! You are one of the only youtubers that hasn't resorted to clickbait and I respect you for it. Endothermic: organisms that generate their own heat. Ectothermic organisms that rely on other sources for heat.
Endothermic: an organism that generates it's own body heat from the inside Ectothermic: an organism that cannot generate it's own body heat from the inside, their heat has to come from an external source Love your channel Leo!
Endothermic: Organisms that generate their own heat Ectothermic: Organisms that rely on an “outside” source in order for heat. Love your videos so much Leo, very educational and enjoyable. PS. I’ve been wanting that swim bait for a long long time:-)
Hello, Leo! I just want to say that I've been subscribed for quite a while now and that every single one of your videos put a smile on my face. I love your videos and your carefree yet collected and organized style really keeps me wanting more. I absolutely love your channel. It may seem a little "convenient" that this comment, in which I am praising your work, is also my competition entry, but that's just something I've been wanting to say for a quite a while. An ectothermic organism is any organism incapable of regulating its own internal body temperature, thus forcing it to A: live solely in a year-round warm area (i.e. green iguana), B: make annual migrations (i.e. monarch butterfly), or C: take time away from eating, hunting, or whatever it is that it may be doing, to bask in the warmth during peak hours of sunlight (i.e. American alligator). An endothermic organism is any organism which may regulate its own internal body temperature, thus enabling it to endure any environment, provided that it adapts accordingly. I do hope my response is satisfactory :)
Thanks for the learning lesson. I just learned that endothermic you can generate your body temp and ectothermic like fish have body temp that is the same temperature as the water. Thanks again Leo for sharing all the knowledge about fish you have with us. It makes me more appreciative of catching fish.
Love the educational videos man, you are phenomenal at explaining the way things work and not just how something works, if that makes sense. Funny that I found you when I was trying to learn how to fish. Give a man a fish and you fed him for a day, teach a man about the endothermic and ectothermic principles and he is no longer ignorant or hungry. Tight Lines!
Thank you for such a timely video. I have two 5-acre ponds here in N. IL that have all but shut down already. Got to give the jigs a try. Endothermic: able to generate internal heat so as not to rely on external sources (warm blooded). Ectothermic: unable to generate its own internal heat and requires external sources (cold blooded)
Definitely appreciate the instructional stuff Leo! To answer your giveaway question the answer is Endothermic can produce their own heat from within. Ectothermic has heat that matches their ENvironment. Tight lines!
Oh yeah! Love these instructional videos. Some people hate them but hey if you’re gonna learn something might as well watch the whole and thing and watch intently too.
Endotherms use internally generated heat to maintain body temperature. Their body temperature tends to stay steady regardless of environment. Ectotherms depend mainly on external heat sources, and their body temperature changes with the temperature of the environment.
I caught a 15 inch black crappie when I was about 9 years old and got it mounted. They are definately the most beautiful fish that there is if you ask me.
Another educational video thanks Leo main difference is Endothermic generates their own heat source while Ectothermic can not so they rely on external heat sources.
Getting schooled by Prof. EPF! Thanks so much for this great video. Looking forward to applying this knowledge during our two weeks of winter down here in Texas. ;D
1) Endothermic (in terms of biology)- A warm blooded animal that can produce its own heat. Us humans, like most mammals, are endothermic homeotherms. Endotherms are able to maintain a constant body temperture and do not rely on their environment. 2)Ectothermic- A cold blooded organism that regulates its body temperature by exchanging heat with its surrounding environment because they cannot produce enough of their own heat. Most fish are ectothermic poikilotherms. Ectotherms become warmer or colder with their environment, which is why fish move between deeper and shallow water due to temperature changes throughout the year.
Thank you for posting this info video. I definitely like your style and approach on fishing. Endothermic mean to be able to produce heat to keep the body warm. Exothermic mean they rely on outside temperatures to regulate they body temperature.
Endothermic organisms produce their own body heat, while Ectothermic organisms depend on the environment for their body temperature. Another awesome video Leo :)
Liked and always followed. Fish are ectothermic their body temperatures are regulated by the water they swim in. Humans are endothermic and generate their own body heat which is maintained at roughly 98 degrees. And that’s why I love your videos, because I learn so much. Thank you Leo.

Love the educational portions of your videos! And now... endothermic - is the internal regulation of body temperature. Ectothermic - external influence and regulation of body temperature, i.e. Body temp matches the environment
Hey, Master Leo. Love your videos. Main difference between endothermic and ectothermic organisms lies in their ability to generate body heat. Endothermic organisms are able to generate their own body heat while ectoothermic organisms are unable to generate their own body heat.
Endo is a thing that produces its very own heat through its functions and i believe ecto is a thing that gets its heat from the environment, its surroundings.
Egypthermic is where you can not generate your own heat for example “if it’s 50* outside that means the water and fish will be about the same” endothermic is a reaction or process accompanied by or requiring the absorption of heat.
Hey, Leo, Endothermic animals generate their own body heat from internal physiological processes. Ectothermic animals warm up, or cool down, according to the temperature of the environment they live in.
hi Leo, Endothermic organisms bodies temperature is mainly constant as it makes its own heat while ectothermic organisms get their body heat from their surroundings.
Endothermic refers maimly to mammals so mainly we can genrate our own body heat or cool down and ectothermic refers mainly to fish, reptiles, invertebrates, and amphibians which their body temperatures change depending on the weather outside
ectothermic: organism who's body heat is generated from outside sources. and endothermic organisms generate heat within their.bodies :) great video Leo! I love the education :)
Hey leo!! Loves the videoo! Endothermic means you can produce your own heat by using calories.. Ectothermic means you need to absorve heat from the environment
Nice video Leo, Endo is when an organism such as humans can generate it's own body heat, but ecto is an organism like fish that can't generate there own body hear.
Endotherms are animals that primarily produces its own heat. Ectotherms are animals that primarily gains heat through the environment. Enjoy your vids and info keep doing the good work!
The difference between Endo and ecto thermic organisms is that Endothermic organisms can generate their own body temperature and maintain it in many ways such as sweating, which cools down the bodh. Ectothermic can not generate their own body heat and their body temp depends on the surrounding areas temperature.
The main difference is that Endothermic organisms generate their own body heat while ectothermic organisms do not. Nice save with the camera Leo! I would totally do the trust test with you. You know the one where you fall back and let a person catch you.
Hey EPF, Sorry I'm getting back late to your post just got out of full hand surgery. In regards to your question of endothermic and ectothermic the answer is as follows. Endothermic can regulate their own interior body temperature whereas ectotherms rely on their surrounding temperatures.
Endothermic: organism with an internal temperature regulation system that can generate heat to maintain homeostasis through metabolic means Ectothermic: organism that is entirely dependent on external factors of temperature such as the environmental temperature
An endothermic organism is able to regulate its body temperature, thus keeping it at a steady leave. Ectothermic is a descriptor of a cold blooded organism, meaning that it’s body temperature fluctuates.
The main difference between ectothermic and endothermic organisms is where they get their body heat from. Endothermic homeotherms are organisms that include most birds and mammals and they generate their own body heat through chemical reactions and in doing so must eat lots of food. Ectothermic poikilotherms on the other hand include most reptiles, amphibians and fish. They rely on their surroundings for body heat and thus eat much less or less often. One fish that is an endothermic poikilotherm is the opah(moonfish) and can regulate its whole body temperature.
Leo, endothermic means body heat is generated/regulated by the organism while ectothermic is unable to do so, meaning the organism would be the same temperature as the environment.
I think endo is where the organism regulates its body temp on its own and ecto is where the organism has to regulate by the Sun or the habitat around it.
An endothermic organism is an organism than maintains a constant body temperature independent of the environment. An endothermic organism can maintain a constant body temperature independent of the environment while an ectoderm is unable to do so as its temperature is reliant on the envrionmental temperature. Leo I love your videos. Come to Jamaica so we can go fishing and bring those lures with you :)
Heat! One of the byproducts of cellular respiration. Love the bio stuff; keep it coming Leo! Obviously endothermic organisms can produce their own heat and ectothermic organisms cannot but I wish you would have told the good people about the difference in poikilothermy vs. homeothermy. Oh, and the Mola Mola has been confirmed as (at least) regionally endothermic. Love your vids!
Endothermic organisms create their own body heat using food and energy to produce heat within the body. Ectothermic organisms use their environment around them to maintain their body temperature. Thus changing body temperature with the temperature of their surroundings.
Endothermic is what is commonly called warm blooded, they get heat from stored energy in the body; for example us humans and most other mammals. Ectothermic is the cold blooded stuff such as reptiles and fish, they get their heat from outside sources.
Endothermic organisms produce their own body heat and must consume food more often to maintain a constant temp. Ectothermic organisms get their body temperature from the environment and their feeding habits depend on the weather and or the temperature around them.
Endothermic organisms maintain a constant internal body temperature despite their surroundings. Most mammals are examples of endotherms. Ectotherms have whatever internal body temperature their surroundings provide them, meaning they need to move from location to location to stay in their "ideal body temperature range". Most fish are examples of ectotherms.
Professor Leo, the difference between endotherms and ectotherms lies in the ability to produce heat internally and regulate internal body temperatures. Endothermic animals are able to convert energy (food) and heat their bodies to a required temperature. An example could be a dog or human. Whereas, ectothermic animals are unable to regulate their own body temperature. As such, their internal body temperature matches that of there surroundings. Examples of these animals can include fish and turtles.
The difference between endothermic and ectothermic organisms is that exothermic species (fish, lizards, etc) have cold blood, so their body temperature is regulated by the temperature of their environment (hence the root “exo”, meaning outside). Endothermic organisms ( mammals and birds) regulate their body temperature through internal biological processes. This means that they maintain a relatively constant body temperature that does not depend on the temperature of their surrounding environment.
Easy one. Endothermic organisms generate their own heat through the metabolic process. Exothermic organisms do not have (or have very minimal) physiological sources of heat and rely on environmental sources.
love the vid and teh giveaway. very clever on how it is setup :P but one thing bro, although we endothermic, you need to wear a hat to keep the head warm ;)
Endothermic organisms generate internal heat. Body tries to generate heat if it's cold by shivering etc. It also cools down if to hot by sweating etc. Ectothermic organisms cannot generate their own body heat. When it's warm they are active. But when it's cold they slow down.
Ectothermic (fish) can't generate their own heat and endothermic (mammals) can generate their own heat. Love these informative videos! Ichthyology is awesome!
Endothermic - makes heat within a body/organism Ectothermic - Organisms that get their heat from an outside source I am currently learning about this in my Biology class which is cool. That would be awesome if I win! Thanks Leo!

Hey EPF,
Sorry I'm getting back late to your post just got out of full hand surgery. In regards to your question of endothermic and ectothermic the answer is as follows. Endothermic can regulate their own interior body temperature whereas ectotherms rely on their surrounding temperatures.

Winter bassinet Is tough as shit thanks for tips...love the channel!
Easy one. Endothermic organisms generate their own heat through the metabolic process. Exothermic organisms do not have (or have very minimal) physiological sources of heat and rely on environmental sources.
Endothermic can generate its own heat and ectothermic gets its heat from it surrounding. I would love to try those swim baits
I could use some Florida saltwater tips , going there soon too
nice I learn alot from ur lecture, lol... why don't you come.down to cali we fish for some crappie and blue gill
Endothermic: produces its own body heat
Endothermic: related to metabolism
Thanks for all you do:)
love the vid and teh giveaway. very clever on how it is setup :P but one thing bro, although we endothermic, you need to wear a hat to keep the head warm ;)
Endothermic organisms generate internal heat. Body tries to generate heat if it's cold by shivering etc. It also cools down if to hot by sweating etc. Ectothermic organisms cannot generate their own body heat. When it's warm they are active. But when it's cold they slow down.
cool vid, is strange but here in Portugal I use most of the stuff you said, well done
Love the video! Congrats on the 3 pounder lol 😂
Keep on talking love your videos. Jersey guy here maybe one day I will run into you.
Leo I enjoy your videos but you look absolutely identical to the guy that stole my girlfriend in middle school. 😂
Leo the gf stealer ;)
Ectothermic (fish) can't generate their own heat and endothermic (mammals) can generate their own heat. Love these informative videos! Ichthyology is awesome!
Endothermic - makes heat within a body/organism
Ectothermic - Organisms that get their heat from an outside source
I am currently learning about this in my Biology class which is cool. That would be awesome if I win! Thanks Leo!
thx i been hopeing for a youtuber to make a video on winter fishing for the north east
Endothermic is heating from inside out (mammals) and ectothermic is heating from outside in (reptiles, etc)
Thanks for very informative video and teachings.
