I watched a ton of videos about installing raptor lights on a 5th generation 4Runner. This was the first one that had an engine bay fuse box like my vehicle (a 2015 4Runner Limited), and where the power wire was run the way you did. Today, I installed a 4 smoked amber Raptor Light kit in my upper grill. I followed your lead by unscrewing the bolt in the engine bay fuse box. It took about 15 minutes of prying with a flat tip screwdriver and holding my mouth right, but I finally got the plastic piece to slide up allowing me to run my power wire up through the gap. The best part is the fuse box cover snaps back on keeping everything water tight. I also ran a relay and an OEM style "Raptor Lights" dash switch. It was a bit of a chore but well worth it as the lights look great! Thanks for posting this fuse box wiring technique, I never would have thought to try that!

I got my raptor lights on amazon for half the price for what they are selling them for and they’ve been awesome with no issues. I have a 2018 and I couldn’t take off that plastic piece after you unscrew the nut to run the power wire under it. I prolly wasn’t doing it right but I did exactly as he did with the flathead and tried for like 30 minutes. The plastic piece wouldn’t come off so I just had to do it the other way with the wire hanging out the side of the fuse box. I just wrapped some tape around the part of the wire that is getting slightly pinched. Still has been working perfect for me though and the fuse box is still secure and I’ve driven in a lot of different conditions so far with this setup.
Great video. Easy install. However, for the 2020 TRD Pro. The fuse box has a different layout and will not completely close. I used a zip tie to keep it latched. Can you source a taller fuse box cover for 2020's?
@@neronfrancis6508 I bought this last year and it's just how this one is set up. it does make things a lot easier, since you don't have to run the wire through the firewall.
I bought the three light kit (tinted, amber) and my "add a fuse" came with a "5" fuse and NOT a "15" fuse as stated in this video. Is this going to be an issue?
I as well received a "5" fuse and not a "15". If you do not mind me asking, did you ever solve this issue? My grill lights do not come on at all. Do I just simply need a "15"?
@@davidg047 I still have mine in the Fog Fr 10A fuse, with the 5A fuse that came with the raptor lights. Maybe the order of the fuse makes a difference in the connector? And make sure you have the polarity of the plug correct. I wouldn't be surprised if they just didn't work, they are very cheaply made..

I think 4runner is better for families with kids. There is more room. Taco is more of a it's my own weekend getaway with friends truck. But both reliable and fun.

I accidentally broke that silver bolt that holds the ground for the whole fuse box. 😭 not sure how much its gonna cost but gotta take to the runner to the dealership tomorrow
WHAT YOU SELL ON THE SITE CAME WITH NO ADD A FUSE AND ONLY C-SHAPED CONNECTOR ON THE END OF THE POSITIVE WIRE. I HAVE NO CLUE HOW IM SUPPOSED TO CONNECT THIS. CONTACTED CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY WERE NO HELP.
Did you select add a fuse or t tap? If you chose the cheaper option then it was the t tap which is what you receivesd. There are videos on TH-cam on how to install t taps.

How do you wire the lights so they they are only on when the lights are on, and not whenever the ignition is on?
How does the power wire not get pinched when the plastic piece is snapped back into place?
Can I ask why you chose to use that Fuse and not Head Light fuse above it? Thanks great video
I tried on my headlight fuse and it didn't work. The led lights are powered on regardless of whether the headlights are on or off.

I didn't want to turn the accessory on just to turn on the raptor. I wanted to control the raptor by turn on the DRL is it possible
It isn't possible unfortunately on a 4Runner since it shares the bulb with the high-beams
