Nice video overall, providing info about the history of Crystal Palace FC is welcome for the fans. My only gripe is that a lot of the footage is showing images of our recently renovated Beckenham training ground site without mentioning where that is! 😕
Thanks for the feedback! 😊 Glad you enjoyed the historical insights on Crystal Palace FC. That's a great point about the training ground footage. Noted for future videos!
I know they're only visuals, but if the end result is like that, then hopefully it should serve the club, fans and community for a long time. Looks absolutely fantastic!
The vast majority of grounds are generic modern plastic bowls . The fans are set back from the pitch & fairly detached from the game. At Selhurst , the fans are right next to the pitch , hence the legendary atmosphere & superb acoustics . It's also 100 years old , which is very rare for a top level team . Long live Selhurst Park
Selhurst Park has more history than it often gets credit for! 🏟️ With the new £100 million expansion, it’s definitely gaining a modern touch while keeping its unique charm. ⚽️✨
@@peterherrington3300 Tell me what is "plastic" about the new Spurs stadium. The seats behind the south stand at the stadium are closer to the pitch than at almost any stadium in the league. "legendary atmosphere" only if you are a Palace fan. Did you hear that John McGinn the Aston Villa player said of the noise at the new stadium, "It got loud, probably as loud as i've heard it as an away player." Spurs played at White Hart Lane for 118 years, and the center circle of the old pitch is marked out inside the new South stand, so they haven't really moved at all, and in fact they are closer to White Hart Lane. Spurs "generic modern plastic bowl", or Selhurst Park, err, um, umm, ahh, now let me see, Nah, i'll Take the "generic plastic bowl" thanks.
You might be interested to know that the Palatine Hill, one of the seven hills of Rome, was the location of the earliest settlement of the city and was associated with imperial and aristocratic residences. It is literally where the Emperor and Rome's richest and most powerful families lived. The word "palace" as in Buckingham Palace is derived from the word palatine, so too is the word paladium, as in the famous theatre. Had you considered adopting the name "The Paladium" as a new name for Selhurst Park? That way, your ground would not just be a stadium, it would be a Paladium 👍
That's a fascinating connection between "palace" and "palatine!" 🏛️ It's an intriguing idea to rebrand Selhurst Park as "The Paladium" to reflect the grandeur associated with imperial residences. This could certainly add a historic flair to Crystal Palace’s identity! ⚽️ Thanks for sharing your insight!

The expansion of Crystal Palace's stadium is exciting! 🔥 It's a big step for the club and fans, and with the right support, gathering 8,000 more fans surely seems possible. If the team faces challenges, the passion of existing fans will undoubtedly be a strength! 🙌⚽
Look at the visuals, my friend. The stadium is, literally, like the older stadiums and right in the middle of the Community with terrace housing on top of it, which limits expansion, and not only do fans NOT want to move from their home, but, realistically, space in the Borough is limited.
Expanding instead of redeveloping allows Crystal Palace to keep costs down and preserve the stadium's historic charm while still enhancing fan experience and capacity! 🏟️✨
It's true, bringing in fresh talent could give Crystal Palace a better shot at staying up 🦅. Hopefully, the new stadium expansion will open up more opportunities for the team and attract the players they need! ⚽️✨
why on earth would a link to another club who folded years before make palace one of the oldest? that isnt how it works. a club is formed and palace were formed in 1905. so stop trying to re write history
The historical ties with the older Crystal Palace team are fascinating to many fans, but you're right that the modern club was founded in 1905. The focus here is on celebrating the exciting stadium expansion and its impact on the club's future! 🏟️⚽️
It's interesting you mentioned the similarity to Anfield's main stand! ⚽️ As for the funding, Crystal Palace seems committed to investing in their future with this impressive expansion. What do you think about the potential impact on their home game experience? 🏟️✨
The AMEX Stadium is indeed impressive! Both clubs have their unique qualities and passionate fans. ⚽ Crystal Palace’s stadium expansion is an exciting development! 🏟️
