As the proud owner of these two Kauri guitars I can’t thank Ben enough for creating such beautiful instruments. They look great and sound amazing. The man’s a genius!
I genuinely think that the fact that you had to do the sapphire inlays twice and they had such a steep learning curve made this build much more worth it and way more giving in the end. I am very pleased to be watching your videos again. Hope you are well🫶
It's the perfectionist in you, combined with your attention to detail and passion that result in such exemplary builds that tend to stand out from the crowd. Kudos for taking the time to do it right - even if it meant doing it twice. The applicable engineering saying would be: "Sometimes you gotta break a few eggs to make a _real_ mayonnaise". The sound samples are especially good. You can really hear how nice it sounds - even on TH-cam.
Ben thats great work. I also greatly admire your camera skills. Filming the mounting of the gem through the magnifying glass whilst keeping it all in shot. Wow! I'm not sure many people understand how difficult some of the film work is.
Love the look! I think the flush mount will be better. With people screaming about “cut hands” when there’s a tiny lack of fret dressing, I would think markers that stand proud of the neck would cause a riot. 😂
Reminds me of ripping the frets out of 2 of my newly finished guitars and redoing them because I was not happy with the fretboard radius. It has to be perfect. Period. 👍
I was planning to go to the luthiary school to build a neck through Telecaster, however, I found an AIO TC1 Dark Walnut neck through and bought it, super guitar and comes with a bespoke set up. I now find myself thinking of a guitar to build at the school, I want to build something I cant buy or afford in a shop, I will start off with something simple and then build my own design, hopefully.
Man o man that is beautiful wood. Ben I REALLY like the change you made to the side dots. To Me they are more aesthetically pleasing. The headstock solution works. Hmm for future headstock inlays, perhaps make a bending form and bend rectangular silver solder sticks or wire around the form. Pre-bend the wire to match a routing template of the logo for fast repeat usage? Or just use silver mica and diamond dust in epoxy, simple, but we all enjoy your complicated designs. A lot.
@Chrimson Custom Guitars - Have you ever thought of doing a combination of jem stones with LED lights positioned behind them so when switched on, they illuminate the jems??? Thus making them easier to see!!! 😀
You haven't missed them. Last I heard the plan was not to do full build series (lots of repetitive stages already done before), but just spotlight vids on specific techniques or novel features. But that was last month, so who knows what the plan is this week 😂
Any chance at developing a version of that Archimedes drill? Good vintage ones are near impossible to come by in my country and the Amazon versions aren't very good.

I've been watching this guy for years and today I can truly say I am in awe....
Truly a pleasure to work on these guitars 🙏
Congratulations, they're beautiful works of meaningful, playable art.
FYI -google Langcaster guitars, they are based in nz where kauri is from and make some sweet guitars
Kauri is such a great Timber
That kauri is a beautiful wood, and the finish on those guitars is just gorgeous.
It is a beautiful wood, difficult to work with, but worth the effort ☺️

Thank you very much 🙏
THey look (and sound) absolutely amazing. Love all the work you do.
Thank you very much!

Thank you for noticing ☺️

Looking EXCELLENT Ben !!
Thanks!
The tele....wow!!! 😮
The new side dots are definitely better than the first try, much easier to see now. I can't wait to see your next project!
Thank you

Agreed
Fine line between obsession and perfection, love your work Bun!
Thank you so much!
Those are two is the prettiest guitars I've ever seen!
Thank you ☺️

They are absolutely stunning and beautiful ❤️
Thank you so much!
Heck, I still liked the work & re-work on his daughter's guitar - drilled out for weight reduction and unique appearance
It’s amazing that all them tiny tools exist! what tools are they using make them and so on it never ends.
Oh boy, lucky client who gets to stare at matching kauri acoustasonic, tele and LP 😍
he gave also the wood to Ben worth some 40k Pounds.

Great ideas, thank you
By the way, besides everything else, the inlayed fretboard is mindblowingly cool!
Thank you

🤔 We'd have to get @francosguitarlab involved for that project 😅
That Kauri is a special wood, hopefully the Client is pleased with them and actually plays them and not just hangs them on the wall.
Have I missed the other Kauri builds? Only remember the Acoustasonic.

Have you considered fibre optic side dots, on a build?
I was kinda surprised when you busted out the monte marte, I buy that stuff at the newsagent for my kids to use
Lawsuit headstock with Crimson logo? Is this being sold?
Any chance at developing a version of that Archimedes drill? Good vintage ones are near impossible to come by in my country and the Amazon versions aren't very good.
Ooh maybe add some fibre optics up through that silver tube next time to really add some light through the sapphire!!!
What are the blue inlays on the fretboard? It's beautiful!
translucent cabochons installed upside down, wrapped in aluminium foil. He made the change a couple of videos ago.

@@CrimsonCustomGuitars thanks. Amazing work! 😊
Full accoutuc with kauri top next?
why don't we see the crimson guitars workshops/school etc. anymore?
If someone wanted to make these style side dots on the cheap you could just buy earring studs with jewels in, cut the point off the back and fit 👍🏻
I would like to see a video on just his hammer collection. Then maybe one on files, then saws, etc.😂
Wow I've not tuned in for a while, you look much thinner, congrats!
Did i miss some episodes?
It must be so hard getting the two side dots at the 12th fret identical, how about instead having a single, larger oval-cut sapphire there instead....
Here's hoping the light fastness of the gouache is decent.
You also could have used more fluid paint (probably water based) and put it on the ingraving on the headstock, then just wipe the excess away.
Great idea, I'll try that next time 😅
I am a sucker for a flat top LP. I hate that I let go of my Gibson LP special
And with a humbricker bridge and P90 neck pickup to boot... Chef's kiss.
I’m pretty sure doing this on a finished instrument would be enough to land me in a mental asylum from the stress.
It takes a lot of..stones?
😂😂😂
id go full spinal tap and not let anyone even look at those guitars
Don't get manic and wobbly mate.
The guitars have eccentric and pointless detail.
The Guitars are gorgeous but the Silver Headstock's look daft! They look like those Gibson Modern Lite LP's that no one is buying!
